It's been so rewarding to watch my son's confidence, focus, and joy grow since enrolling him at Kovars in Rocklin. From day one, the instructors here have created a space that feels safe, supportive, and exciting. Sensei Hannah, Sensei Christian, and Sensei Ken don’t just teach martial arts—they connect with the kids and teach important life skills. Another thing I really appreciate is how they meet my son where he’s at, understanding his unique personality and pace, while still challenging him to push his limits in healthy, encouraging ways. Since starting here, I’ve seen such a boost in my son’s confidence. I also really like how each class is a perfect balance of discipline, energy, and fun. The program feels not only rooted in learning martial arts skills but also in developmentally appropriate practices. They manage to keep every lesson engaging and relevant, and my son looks forward to class every single week (which says a lot!). If you’re looking for a dojo that truly invests in your child’s growth and development, both on and off the mat, this is the place. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

My son absolutely loves his karate class! The instructors are patient, encouraging, and really know how to keep the kids engaged while teaching discipline and respect. I've seen such a boost in his confidence and focus since he started. Highly recommend!

Kovar’s has been a very positive experience for my daughter who started the program a couple of months ago. I loved watching her, the students and teachers and learned so much just from observation that I decided to join the program myself! Looking forward to continued training! I would highly recommend this academy to anyone!

We absolutely LOVE Kovar’s in Rocklin! The senseis are hands-down the best part of this place. They’re so kind, they know every kid by name, and you can tell they genuinely love what they do. It’s such a warm, welcoming environment that makes every child feel special. Our 5-year-old has been going for a few months now and is completely hooked. He’s grown so much—not just physically but in confidence too. He looks forward to every class and comes out beaming every time. What I really love is that Kovar’s isn’t just about learning martial arts. They spend time helping kids with goal-setting and character building too. It’s been such a positive influence on our little one, and honestly, I can’t think of a better place for kids to train.

Both of my boys have been attending this martial arts class for a few months, and I can already see a great improvement in both physical fitness and character development. The instructors are incredibly patient and skilled at working with kids of all ages and abilities. The curriculum is well-balanced, combining techniques and games to keep the children engaged. I also appreciate the emphasis on safety, respect, discipline and teamwork, which has translated into better behavior at home and school. Overall, I highly recommend this kids' martial arts class. It's a fantastic way for children to get active, build confidence, and develop important life skills.

My 10 year old absolutely loves karate here, after losing interest in football and baseball, he seems to really have taken a liking here. The instructors are fun and keep the class focused and disciplined and throw in important life lessons/stranger danger type of things.

My son has been enrolled in this program for about three months now and we think its fantastic. Each day is different which keeps him interested and the skills they’re teaching him are real skills, not just karate chopping air every day. The instructors are great and are wonderful with keeping the kids engaged and also making the lessons fun. As a parent i really like their message of positivity and confidence but also respect for everyone. In these few short months my son has gained awesome skills but also his confidence has grown. We are so happy we found them!

We have been so happy with Kovar’s - Rocklin. Sensei Hannah is incredible with the kids, she is engaging and educational while still making it so fun! The variety and flexibility of the schedules makes it so easy to integrate into our busy schedules.

Hi there, I signed my son up a few weeks ago, and I have been ecstatic to see how awesome the instructors are with him. My son has autism and has trouble focusing, needs a lot of reminders, intends to be more silly than other kids in class, however, the instructors are so calm, and direct in their approach, and I’ve noticed a improvement in his ability to focus not just in class, but at home as well. We have been too many martial arts schools over the years, and it is very clear that they go through intense teaching skills development, as they are consistent at keeping the kids attention at all times, and holding them accountable to the behavior, in ways that are compassionate and respectful . Will be keeping my son with them for quite some time.

I started training with them just recently, as the martial arts style that I trained in for 10+ years is not located near me. I so am extremely grateful and impressed by the quality of instruction provided, and I love how they not only teach martial arts and self-defense, but they teach and challenge you to be a better human in all areas of life. Awesome program, and I plan on sticking around all the way to black belt :-)

Fantastic place. I have trained in BJJ for many years now. Kovars has many locations in the area, and they are legit. I have grappled with Dave Kovar and several of his black belts and was always impressed by how proficient their jiu-jitsu is. And that's just one of many arts they practice. Love this place for their balance between practical self-defense, versatile curriculum and really positive environment. My 4 year old found his home here for sure.
