Ally McPherson has been an outstanding personal trainer, particularly excelling in Muay Thai pad work and conditioning. Under Ally's guidance, I honed both fitness and technique, achieving significant progress. His expertise, personalized approach, and commitment to my fitness goals make him an invaluable asset as a personal trainer. I highly recommend Ally for anyone seeking a dedicated and skilled professional in Muay Thai training.
Posted 2 years agoDisclaimer: This is not Ally's character review, it is a service review, so please don't come at me as I think Ally is a great person with a lovely personality and very knowledgeable about his craft. The service I was provided with Martial Fitness Coaching had me paying £440 for 10 sessions + £60/month for a nutrition daily evaluation. I skipped the nutrition evaluation as I already had someone helping me with that part but was happy to do the 10 sessions. I ended up only doing two sessions, one introductory where we met and talked about goals and another to test my strength and resistance limits at the time. Those two were great, really focused and intense but also very targeted and providing really good insights. However, that was it. I had told Ally I would be having a wild time with travel and he said it was all okay and that we'd stay in touch so I could have him ready when I arrived. Unfortunately, Ally did not follow up much and the last whatsapp message is mine telling him when I'd be in Edinburgh to schedule a training. I was mostly the one engaging with him though I had paid a service that he was supposed to provide, which I thought was odd considering I had had services like this before and never had to initiate conversations. As you can guess, a person with lots of traveling and work might have a hard time picking training back up with a personal trainer or even remembering there's one waiting, so I would not recommend this service if you're in this kind of situation as I think it is more of a "local and/or established" kind of person that would benefit from Ally's services. All that being said, Ally is great to work with and is super relaxed. I recommend these services if you are in Edinburgh longterm.
Posted 2 years agoAlly is a pro ! He is absolutely top level at coaching and gives you all the skills needed to be the best version of yourself. He has a very high level technical understanding and a lot of valuable experience. His knowledge and expertise extends to all aspects of life to bring out the best in his clients. I can see a significant improvement in my technique since I started and my fitness has drastically improved and already have learned so much in the art of Muay Thai.
Posted 2 years agoI've been training with Ally for over a year now. It's been a very enjoyable experience, and a productive one. He know his stuff: strength training, nutrition, and of course Muay Thai. The Muay Thai is fantastic for getting stronger and leaner, without endless boring reps on machines. And Ally himself is always cheery and encouraging. I highly recommend him for your fitness goals, whatever they may be.
Posted 5 years agoAlly has a lot of knowledge about strength and conditioning and how to tailor training to suit specific needs and goals, including working around injuries. Scheduling has been very straightforward and flexible around shift work. I've been working with Ally for about 6 months and can feel the strength difference to when I started. Would highly recommend to anyone in a combat sport or anyone looking to build strength and mobility.
