Great school! Visiting from Northern California and had the opportunity to join a Master Cycle class. The instructor was top notch and we covered Omoplata from guard. Thank you, Neil! Then I had the amazing opportunity to learn some control and passes inside closed guard and half guard from the head instructor Ross White who was very patient and really made the whole experience welcoming and incredibly positive! Highly recommend and soon they will hopefully have their own new space right near their current location! Would 100% train here if we lived out here!

I recently had the pleasure of starting training at Manchester Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, and I can't say enough about the consistently positive approach of Colton and Ross. Their dedication and enthusiasm create an encouraging and motivating environment for everyone who walks through the door. Both Colton and Ross excel at breaking down techniques into easily understandable steps, making jiu-jitsu accessible and enjoyable for practitioners of all levels. Their shared passion for the art is infectious, and they genuinely care about each student's progress, ensuring that everyone feels supported and motivated. In addition to their technical expertise, both instructors emphasize the mental aspects of jiu-jitsu, teaching the importance of discipline, resilience, and strategic thinking. Their positive and consistent approach helps students grow not only as martial artists but also as individuals. Together, Colton and Ross foster a welcoming community that inspires everyone to achieve their best. Manchester Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is truly fortunate to have these two leading the way. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, training with Colton and Ross is an experience not to be missed. Highly recommended!

My daughter was intrested in some self defense classes so we thought we would give it a try. Colton and all the instructors at Manchester Gracie Jiu Jitsu have been outstanding. They are very professional and seemed to be very genuine in your journey and being comfortable with what you choose. My daughter was able to do a free trial and get a short one on one lesson prior to joining. She has recently started the Gracie Jiu Jitsu Women's Empowerment classes and loves them.

I’ve been training at this gym for almost two months now. This is a great place to train. The facility is clean. The instructors are knowledgeable. And the community there is welcoming. I would definitely recommend to anybody looking to learn jiu jitsu or just get in better physical shape.

This place is excellent! My 15 year old son MJ started Jiu Jitsu classes a few weeks ago. MJ is blind so he is doing one-on-one training. I've spent much time trying to help him be more active, but it's been hard to find an activity that he enjoys due to his disability. I'm happy to say the search is over. He loves Jiu Jitsu and enjoys his time with his instructor Colton. Colton is a wonderful instructor, he knows how to mix seriousness and playfulness in order to keep MJ learning and engaged. The entire staff is not only well mannered and kind but also actively engaged in what's going on in the building. Even instructors from the Karate side of the building take interest in MJ and ask me and Colton how he is doing. The place is always very clean and the equipment is in great shape and in order. I have a couple of Jiu Jitsu studios near me both within a 5 minute drive, I choose to drive almost 30 minutes one way to Manchester Gracie Jiu Jitsu. If your looking for a welcoming place with great instructors, look no further this is the one.

Outstanding Learning Experience at Manchester Gracie Jiu Jitsu I have had an incredible experience training at Manchester Gracie Jiu Jitsu. The combination of Colton and Ross as instructors is truly remarkable. Their teaching styles complement each other perfectly, much like yin and yang, creating a balanced and comprehensive learning environment. What sets this center apart is the dedication and care the coaches have for their students. Colton and Ross have a unique ability to take complex, advanced material and break it down into easily digestible steps, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their level, can follow along and improve. They prioritize safety above all else and are attentive to the individual pace of each student, making sure that everyone progresses comfortably and confidently. The positive and supportive atmosphere at Manchester Gracie Jiu Jitsu, coupled with the expertise and approachability of the coaches, makes this center an exceptional place to train. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn and grow in Jiu Jitsu.

I started my journey with all ladies in the Women's Empowered program. It provided me with the skills and knowledge to protect myself if I were ever in an unfortunate situation that many women find themselves in. I have more confidence than I've ever had and I even earned my Pink Belt in class. I still love it so much that I show up to class to help other ladies do the same. I also started doing combatives which is co-ed but there are many amazing ladies to pair up with each week. Learning more variations and skills to protect yourself. I love the environment so much. Everyone is so supportive. The instructors are welcoming, encouraging, supportive and very skilled in their craft. If you're thinking of trying it out...do it!! It's one of the best choices I've ever made.

The staff here is amazing! I recently signed up for the womens empowerment classes and I love it! This program teaches you the best ways to get out of common attacks-- Talk about empowering! The fact that it's a women's class is also a plus for me. It's intimidating to walk into a Jui Jitsu class for the first time, but these ladies are all fun and relaxed and made me feel like part of their group on day one!

I started GJJ classes here a couple months ago and have been thoroughly enjoying it. The instructors at Manchester Gracie Jiu Jitsu make classes challenging and exciting. I've learned a lot -- I'd never practiced any martial art before -- and I look forward to learning new techniques every class. It's a fun way to get in shape (or keep in shape!), learn how to protect yourself, and meet new people at the same time.

This program has incredible instructors who create the most welcoming environment when you first begin. Their knowledge and experience in BJJ is very apparent. BJJ can be intimidating and awkward for any novice, but Ross and Colton both do a wonderful job when it comes to making you feel safe and at home on the mat. If you are a woman reading this, and you’ve been considering joining but have reluctancy (for whatever reason) I urge you to at least give it a try. BJJ has improved my mind, body, and soul. It’s been a healthy outlet for me to release stress, anxiety, frustrations, and I depend on it to help stay focused on the present. I’d give this place 6/5 stars if I could.

I highly recommend Manchester Gracie Jiu Jitsu! What I like about it is that they take the time to explain the moves/holds and then it’s time to put in the work. Ross and Colton are excellent instructors, as a white belt beginning this journey they help you understand the process, they ask if you have questions and when you do they give great answers and examples. Do not hesitate to visit!

Colton and Ross are great Gracie instructors and offer great value through the Gracie programs for members at every level Combatives/self defense (my preference over sport). The Gracie curriculum is much better than what I have experienced in Wisconsin and NYC paying at least x2 as much to take classes with teachers that would not correctly teach anyone , there would only be low level techniques shown and then only free rolling/sparring with no long term progress for any students including the ones competing. The instructors are patient during classes and do not raise their voice at students yet assertively voice what students need to do to progress and stay safe. The students here (more evenly split men/women in combatives classes) are friendly and communicative and there are enough students that if you need to find a training partner that fits your training style/needs in classes you can find them. The mats are always clean and in good physical condition (no dirt or dents in mats). The men's room and bathroom are kept clean.

I joined Manchester Gracie Jiu Jitsu after wanting to do martial arts for a long time. After the opportunity arose I made a decision to try it out. It’s been one of the best choices I’ve made. I came not knowing what to expect. I was immediately greeted by a friendly, understanding staff. The atmosphere is overwhelmingly positive. I now look forward to going to classes twice a week. Working with people of similar experience levels makes learning this skill fun and challenging at the same time. There’s no pressure to go too far outside your comfort zone, yet there’s always a challenge to do better. If you're thinking about making a decision to try this out I would say go for it. You won’t regret it.

During some recent visits to Manchester, I had the opportunity to take several lessons with Ross White, one of the head instructors. His explanations, patience, and thoroughness were all excellent! He's a super nice person while also very technical and knowledgeable. I also got to meet the other instructors and several other students. It was a really welcoming and friendly environment. If you are interested in the most effective form of self defense, I strongly suggest you consider Manchester Karate and Gracie Jiu Jitsu!

Jeff here posting... If your thinking of learning Jiu Jitsu this is the only place to start! I drive 40 minutes to get here and here’s why, the format. I took other classes and they definitely have there place but not for BJJ beginners, at Gracie Jiu Jitsu it is organized so that you are working on the basics until you get them, at other BJJ places you train and roll with blue, purple, brown and black belts, fun, yes but too hard to grasp things. For instance I was learning how to apply an Americana with my foot (probably a brown belt level move) before I really knew how to do the standard arm version! I was always confused and lost at class, and you will be anywhere for a bit but in a few weeks at Gracie Jiu Jitsu it starts making sense. You have to learn the basics first! Everybody else seems to want you to run when you can’t even walk. No where else is the format so organized and broken down, you are also given access to Gracie Institute online and you can literally watch every individual class with everything your going to learn in class so you can prep or review each class at home. My only regret is I didn’t start sooner. Colton and Ross, the instructors, are just damn good guys too.

The instructors are highly knowledgeable and attentive. They don't allow new students to roll, and instead drill the different skills in a structured progression that makes it easy to learn, while still being enough of a challenge to remain interesting.

We started coming here in September of 2020 and by far we have zero complaints about this place. Both our kids do karate and they love it. My son is always excited and eager to train not only on the mat but at home as well. My daughter is forever happy about it and shes always wanting to help and work with all skill levels above and below hers. For me i do Jiu Jitsu and it has been a godsend for me. It helps me so much physically but also more so mentally. The instructors are patient and are always willing to help and work with you. Its safe and you can go at your own pace with no judgements and everyone is willing to help and bring each other up. The whole staff treats us more like family instead of customers and have always been open about any questions we may have about anything. If you want to get into shape with great people and have fun doing it, this is the place to go.

At the time of writing this I have been with MGJJ for a little over 5 years and I could not find anything but positive things to say about the crew here. Ross and Colton are the two best instructors I have ever had the pleasure of training under. The way they teach is not only thorough and methodical but is patient and brilliant making it very easy to catch on and find yourself motivated to keep coming back. Through their guidance I have been able to continually better myself through the years not only as a martial artist but as a person. Same can be said for each and every face at the gym. Mr. Mac, Mr. Standen, Mr. McKenzie, and Mr. White are all fantastic and come together seamlessly to create an amazing environment for all. The training partners you’ll work with here are all likeminded individuals and always look out for one another as if you’re family. Whether you’re a fully invested martial artist, a parent looking to introduce their child to martial arts, someone looking to learn self defense, or just simply aiming to stay in shape and live a happier and healthier lifestyle. I would, no doubt, strongly recommend Manchester Gracie Jiu Jitsu and Karate to anyone.

Instructors: The instructors are methodical in their approach to training. As a student, this approach has helped me better understand the reasoning behind each technique. Lastly, they are easy going and extremely professional. Students: The student body at all levels are professional, easy going, and make the whole experience an easy transition. Were all there for different reasons but working for the same goal- To better yourself and each other. Within a month I've already met people like minded who share the same hobbies and interest. Facility: The facility is spotless. It's almost hard to believe this is a place people workout at. Can't beat it. Cost: It is a great price for what you're getting in return. You also get access to online training from the Gracie family itself. This can help assist with students outside of class to either prepare for an upcoming class or revisit what they learned that week. I use this quite often and it helps you better understand the techniques when you cover them in class. "There is no losing in jiu jitsu. You either win or you learn." - Carlos Gracie, Sr.

I am currently enrolled in the Gracie Combative's course after trying out the introductory class. Very happy with the classes and staff so far. Students are here to learn and help each other with skills, the instructors keep classes focused and it is a good learning enviornment.

Professional, family friendly, clean - the list goes on! I've been training, learning, and growing with Manchester Gracie Jiu Jitsu and their students for many years now and if you've been on the fence about it - the time is now and the place is here!

Very happy with my decision to start training at Manchester Gracie Jiu Jitsu! I’ve been training in the combatives class for around 6 months now and have progressed much faster than I would have thought. Colton and Ross are very accommodating to different learning styles and can easily adjust their teaching methods to each class and student. They are both a wealth of jiu jitsu knowledge and very passionate about the art. One of the things I was hesitant about when signing up for a school was the schedule. My work schedule is not normal, consistent, or ideal for participating in scheduled classes. The way their schedule works, however, it is very easy to find at least 2 times per week in where I’m not working and able to attend. They are just happy to see you at class. I recommend Manchester Gracie Jiu Jitsu to anyone! Come in and see what our classes are like, I’m confident you’ll love it here!

I'm highly impressed at the professionalism and methodology of the instructors here, while there are plenty of people on Earth who are knowledgeable, the ability to teach is not necessarily linked with skill or knowledge in a field. I am happy to say that the instructors here not only seem to understand conceptually and practically the application of their craft, but that they communicate and transfer their knowledge in a friendly, constructive and efficient way. Quality teachers are a rarity, and I'm excited and eager to learn from the team here for a very long time.

I only wish I had started Gracie Jiu Jitsu sooner! Learning this gentle, yet powerful art that puts effective technique over brute strength, has been a transformative experience for me, especially under the tutelage of the fantastic instructors, Colton and Ross. Colton has been my primary instructor during most of the combatives program classes I've taken and has been a constant source of encouragement and support from the very beginning. With their patience and understanding, they make sure that students learn in a safe and respectful environment, while equipping us with practical skills for life. Lucky to have discovered the world of jiu jitsu and joined Manchester GJJ! Osss!

The facility is nice and always clean. I've been doing the Gracie Combatives classes with Colton for about 2 months and he's excellent. He really knows his stuff and the classes are a good mix of challenge and fun. The other students are nice as well. I definitely recommend it.

This gym is Gracie certified, offering the Gracie combatives curriculum for beginners and the Master's cycle for advanced practicioners. The atmosphere is very supportive and highly knowledgeable. The focus on real-world self defense differentiates this gym from others in the area. Most importantly, the staff are top-notch. Colton and Ross are more than proficient in their art and apply an array of teaching methods very effectively.

i joined Manchester Gracie Jiu Jitsu almost a year ago with the idea that what I learned up until now in life in terms of self-defense was "sufficient"- and although it was enough to pass tests for work, LE- (I knew I needed more if something really went side-ways both at work or out on the street). Colton, Ross and Lawrence are great instructors. The atmosphere is clean and vibe is up-beat. I would recommend Manchester Gracie Jiu Jitsu to anyone who wants to have more "in depth" self-defense knowledge whether it be for work, out on the street or just to take up a new challenging and rewarding form of exercise.

Outstanding school! I have been training here since Mr. White rolled out the program in 2011 and I wouldn't want to study Jiu Jitsu anywhere else. Ross and Colton do an outstanding job. They teach Jiu Jitsu the Gracie way, in a very safe and technical manner that is also unbelievably fun. Manchester Gracie Jiu Jitsu by far the best place to train for men and women of all ages and fitness levels.

I have been a student here for several years, and would happily recommend anyone interested to start here. The curriculum is designed to encourage you from day one by making it a personal journey about learning, rather than a "throw you to the sharks" mentality. The philosophy is to pull your fellow students up with you, rather than to push them down. The instructors are passionate, knowledgeable, patient, encouraging, and respectful. Always happy to answer questions, and give you that extra tidbit of info to make your techniques just a little bit better each time. Anyone looking to get into a Jiu-Jitsu program that is there to help you learn, I highly recommend Manchester Gracie Jiu Jitsu.

I just finished my 2nd official class with the Gracie Jiu Jitsu beginner program. I have to admit the first session of my trial period was intimidating. When you are a woman having a strange male pin you down can be momentarily panic inducing. However, my instructor was most professional, respected all the boundaries, explained everything he was going to do before he did it, asked permission to put hands on me. From there I have partnered with another student/instructor, and today a student more experienced than me. Everyone has a very positive, encouraging attitude. I'm the only female in a small class, but I'm well treated. My partner doesn't give me any slack, but no one is out to give me a hard time either, and this has induced me to enroll and keep going back. I also appreciate that they instruct you on how to avoid injury when you are in the, "bad guy," role and have to take a roll or fall. Every demo of a sequence includes reminders of the difference between in the studio (so don't whale on your opponent) and out there on the street. Looking forward to a very exciting new journey! ETA 2/19/19 - I passed my combatives test a year ago, and joined the master cycle. This next level has been very intimidating, and I was on the verge of quitting because life was preventing me from attending class regularly. But the instructors have been so encouraging, reminding me that this is a long view journey. Their continued support, along with the great training atmosphere of my classmates, has kept me going.

My sister and I started Jiu Jitsu a few weeks ago and I have to say it's wonderful. The instructors are knowledgeable, passionate and patient. Everyone we have encountered is as invested in our success as we are. I would recommend training here to anyone wanting to learn how to defend themselves or just learn something new.

My son was attacked at school and his counselor recommend him to come here. So far we have seen a dramatic improvement in his self confidence in the two weeks he's been coming & the staff is amazing! We will definitely be enrolling our other two children as soon as they are both ready. I can't say enough good things about this school.

I scheduled an appointment to try out Gracie Jiu Jitsu and ultimately signed up for classes. They are the only certified Gracie Combatives training center in NH. Convenient location, clean facility and the staff is professional and friendly. So far I am impressed with the classes and instructors.

I recently moved to New Hampshire. Ordinarily, I would not do business with a school which did not plainly list its schedule and price on its website. Since I live in an area with no instruction available, I took a chance and provided a throw-away e-mail address on the "request information" button, which said that pricing and schedule would be provided. The only thing provided was multiple requests for my phone number and a spam newsletter. I do not recommend this business.
