BEAUTIFUL ACADEMY ! Super friendly and AWESOME STAFF. Stopped in to train while i was passing by for work (trucker) the welcomed me in and treated me like a member. Very welcoming atmosphere. Looking forward to rolling with this team again! 20/10 recommend! This is the place to be if you want high level training without the hassle. THEY EVEN HAVE A SHOWER! Super clean bathrooms! Loaner Gi’s available also! Oss!

Amazing gym and super inviting group. Was visiting the area and stopped in to train. If you are looking for a gym in the area this is your spot. Having trained 19 years it’s always tough finding inviting gyms on the road and I can’t wait to come back.

Stopped in to train while on the road for work. Facility is incredible, tons of mat space for both BJJ and kickboxing. They also have a weightlifting area, which is awesome. On top of that facility is spotless clean. Professor Chris, staff, and those training were all incredibly kind, welcoming, and very knowledgeable. I left the mats knowing way more than when I stepped on! For that, I cannot thank the team over at liberty jiu-jitsu enough! OSS!

I came to Liberty because John was recommended to me by a friend to help me get started kickboxing. He’s truly an excellent coach with great energy and I learned a ton just from our first lesson. I was also really impressed by the quality of the facility itself.

Training at Liberty is an amazing experience. Whether you want to train to compete, for self-defense or as a hobby this is the place to do it! Ive been training at this gym for about six months now. The instructors are top-notch, the atmosphere is supportive and welcoming. Thankfully, the instructors and students make cleanliness a huge priority. Each instructor is knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated to helping students improve their skills. The classes are challenging, yet fun, and the curriculum is well-structured and easy to follow. Also, this gym supports Military and first responders.

Unfortunately I was only able to go to a few weeks worth of private lessons with John but I couldn’t have asked for a greater experience Where do I even begin? From the moment I stepped on the mat his passion/expertise/enthusiasm were the driving forces for all our sessions. Even though I had a bit of a training before this I felt like I gained a whole new appreciation for even the very basics of martial arts. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable about techniques & strategies, but he also has this innate ability to push you to the point where you feel like you’re getting excellent training and value. My only regret was having started here without being able to continue for years on end but he was still able to provide recommendations for gyms for where im going, so if it’s good enough for John it’s good enough for me. 1000% recommend

I can't say enough good things about Liberty. The coaches, John (kickboxing) and Dustin (jiu-jitsu) are fantastic. They have a simple, informative way of teaching their crafts that ensures students are able to learn the techniques and perform them correctly and safely. But what really makes this gym is the other students. All are very welcoming to new students of all skill levels. Going to a school like this can be very intimidating. The people here, however, immediately make that feeling disappear. They work at your level and are happy to let you learn at your own pace. You can purchase equipment at the gym but are not pressured to do so. Lastly, the gym is clean. Each night after classes, the equipment and mats are cleaned to create a healthy environment for all. 10 out 5 stars. Highly recommend.

To preface I've been wanting to learn some sort of combat sport but always felt really intimidated by a lot of gyms and trying to get into it. But when a someone invited me to check it out, I decided "eh, why not?" I've been to a couple classes (mostly jiu-jitsu and kickboxing) and the coaches are super friendly and knowledgeable. I'm a big fan of the fact that they are good at balancing between on-the-spot correction and waiting to see if you'll fix the mistake yourself. Honestly wish I'd found this place just a little bit earlier.

I love this gym. Everyone from the coaches to those who train there are so kind and welcoming. The classes are intense and informative, but incredibly fun and rewarding! I highly recommend if you have a chance, stop in!

My daughter has been doing Jiu jitsu classes here for a few months now and I was able to take a trial kickboxing class (hopefully I'll be able to do more). I cannot say enough good things about this gym. Every coach we've had has been so understanding and patient while at the same time pushing to keep going and maintain correct technique. If you're thinking about enrolling your kid or yourself in a martial arts class, you really can't go wrong with this gym!

If you’re looking for some where to grow yourself, this is the place to go. The guys here are serious about their service to the community. Great for kids, especially with learning how to utilize their mind to get out of complex situations. My son had a good time, he came home from each training session with a sense of accomplishment.

Best kickboxing and jiu jitsu quality training in town. Safety is taken very seriously by both coaches, John and Dustin, whether you're rolling on the mat, sparring, or dutch drilling. Its been such a good time and a hella of a workout being part of your gym. Thank you for keeping it professional and educational, I'll definitely be back!

I could not have asked for a better way to be introduced into the world of Martial Arts. The staff is incredibly personable and understanding, and the gym itself is clean and well maintained. Coach John is outstanding! He has an unmatched ability to teach in a group as if it's a one-on-one lesson with the individual. Really a great group of people all the way around!

Unfortunately I was only able to train here for just over a month, prior to moving for a job. Dustin and his coaches were extremely professional and welcoming! It was an amazing atmosphere, and I was able to come in as a brand new guy and feel like I belonged. Definitely set the bar for when I try to find BJJ gyms elsewhere! Definitely recommend checking this place out.

I was in town for a short period of time, I was able to jump right in and continue training without any issues. The team is incredible, professional and just overall very kind. I moved to the area recently from out of state and quickly fell in love with the environment Liberty Jiu Jitsu provides. First of all, the location is great. The gym is located about 5 minutes outside of Gate 6 and is in a quiet part of Grovetown. It’s the cleanest mat I have ever trained on and the facilities the gym offers is top tier. There’s two separate mats to train on, showers, two changing rooms, two bathrooms (also extremely clean), plenty of storage for gear, and places to sit if you’re a parent and wanting to watch your child during class. There’s a variety of classes including preschool, kids ages 5-13, wrestling, MMA, Muay Thai/Kickboxing, competition training, private lessons, sparring, fundamentals and intermediate Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and even a Women’s Self Defense class. The class schedule is packed and all of the instructors are kind and great at teaching new skills to students. Staff is also very knowledgable about training smart and setting healthy goals for yourself. I think the thing that stands out the most is how the community there is so welcoming. The people at Liberty are not shy about welcoming you with open arms and making you feel comfortable training with them. I quickly felt right at home at this gym after moving and if you’re questioning whether or not you should check Liberty out, this is your sign to come try out a class! I'm rating it 5/5 on google, but this is a solid 12/10 place to train.

Absolutely wonderful jiu-jitsu gym. Great people, friendly atmosphere, great coaches and very accommodating schedules. Dustin is a great all around guy who has went above and beyond to work with my crazy schedule. Alex is an awesome instructor with plenty of patience for us newbies. If you are looking for a new jiu-jitsu home, give Liberty a try.

I highly recommend training at Liberty Jiu-Jitsu. Great instruction, tough and technical sparring and a warm and friendly atmosphere make it the complete package for grapplers of all skill levels. The academy is clean and spacious, complete with changing rooms, gear storage, and showers. Whether you are passing through, or looking for a home gym, you cant go wrong with Liberty.

If I made a Wishlist for everything I would hope to find at a JiuJitsu School, Liberty has it. A loaded class schedule, a beautiful and clean facility with two spacious mats, changing rooms and showers, top notch instruction, and it is conveniently located right outside of Fort Gordon for Military folks. They even have healthy meals/drinks available to grab after classes. Another great benefit for those looking to get even more out of classes is that Liberty is a part of the Terra Guerra association, so members get access to even more training/seminars. This is just all around a top quality school that I would recommend to anyone looking to get started in JiuJitsu, or is an experienced competitor.
