We enrolled our 9 year old just two months ago and are so impressed with the changes we have seen in him. He's more confident, focused, and will even choose coming to class over playing video games! The gym has such a welcoming environment and we have great confidence in Coach Sam! He, his wife Diana, and all the other coaches make great use of the 1 hour class. It's a real joy to have our son take part in a sport which he loves! Highly recommend

I’ve been training at La Union Jiu Jitsu for about a year, and it’s an incredible place to learn and grow. The gym has great vibes, a welcoming community, and a strong sense of camaraderie. The instruction is high-quality, with coaches who genuinely invest in their students, balancing structure, detail, and fluidity in their teaching. Training partners are respectful, and the atmosphere is family-friendly with good competition. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and has plenty of parking. Beyond training, I’ve made lifelong friends here. If you’re looking for a supportive and skilled Jiu Jitsu community, I highly recommend La Union.

I only great things to say about this place. My daughters have been coming here for a year now and they love it here. It’s their second home. Training with Coach Sam and his wife has build so much confidences. Everyone here treat each other like family. All the coaches have helped my daughters improve so much not only in their jiu jitsu but also in their life style. I can’t wait to see more kids join La Union and see them build their confidence and growth at this gym.

La Union Jiu Jitsu is an excellent place to train if you're looking to improve your jiu jitsu at a clean gym and safe environment. Coach Sam is very welcoming and great at breaking down techniques while keeping a family oriented atmosphere.

For anyone looking to keep their kids active/engaged in a sport, you found gold with La Union. Sam & the instructors are so good with the kids. Family oriented environment makes you feel welcomed from day 1. My nephew loves coming in! He competed in his first tournament thanks to Sam's guidance & encouragement.

I put my son in the kids class ,Sam and diana are Awesome and patient with him and the other kids as well, The dojo is very family orientated everyone is friendly and has respect and is very communicative. I highly recommend parents and their kids join and get the work out and camaraderie this place has to offer.

Man where do I even begin! First and foremost La Union isn’t your basic traditional academy. Right when you walk in through those doors at La Union, you know there’s something special going on in there. Coach Sam and his wife have created something beyond words! Right when you walk in you’re welcomed with opened arms and truly feels like a REAL and GENUINE family atmosphere. The quality of instruction is by far some of the best I’ve seen in comparison to other gyms that I’ve seen and trained at. Whether you’re looking to compete and or get in shape, THIS is the place to be at! You don’t have to go broke while seeking quality training. La Union and Coach Sam make you feel right at home and at ease when trying to learn something new. Beyond grateful to have found my new home away from home! All in all, if you’re looking for a new gym and or a gym to begin a new venture, La Union is the place to be! 🤙🏾

Best BJJ gym ever! It was very hard for me to find a good gym with no toxicity from other people with high egos and who refuse to roll with females. But ladies!! This is the place where there is no ego and no attitudes ! Coach Sam is super fun and outgoing! He will not tolerate any immaturity and attitudes from nobody. He makes you feel welcomed! Not only that, it is very difficult to find a good bjj coach who knows how to teach! This guy is it! He is great at explaining each drill and submission every time. Very clear and simple. None of that fancy talk that confuses half of the students. Most importantly, Coach Sam keeps his gym spotless and clean! Mats are extremely clean and taken care of after every class! So thanks coach Sam!!

Amazing atmosphere for new and experienced people. I’m constantly being pushed to my limits whenever I come in. Coach Sam is a passionate person who will bend over backwards to make sure you understand things in your own way. The training and lessons are great. Overall a 10/10 experience.

Forget fancy kicks – we're all about the stealthy, ground-dwelling moves here, limbs contortion. Cowabunga, my fellow ground karate enthusiasts! La Union's mission is to "build a community though jiu jitsu". I would say Coach Sam does nothing short of doing just that. Here at La Union, I feel that I have a home away from home. Sam is an amazing and experienced coach and his gym has a family vibe to it. Everyone in the gym is friendly and welcoming. Whether you are thinking about starting jiu jitsu, or already experienced, La Union is the place to be. They also have kids classes, if you are looking for a place to bring your kid. If you’re reading this, you’ve already took the first step and are looking for a gym to call home. Do yourself a huge favor and come train, you found your gym. It doesn’t get any better! La Union is a family through and through. Coach Sam is an excellent coach that breaks complicated techniques down in a way that makes sense and is easy to comprehend while also elevating your game for whatever goal you want to achieve. He’s got you both on and off the mats and we are all very grateful for the atmosphere he created in this gym! Coach Dylan teaches my son who has been training for about a year and a half now and is lucky to be taught by a world champion. He keeps the kids engaged and having fun while continuing to progress. My son is 7 and loves it here! Be it the people, the schedule or the cost, there isn’t a better gym in town! See you on the mat!

I've been to several BJJ gyms and Sam is the most passionate in developing his students. The prices are one of the best in the area, and the atmosphere and the people are very down to earth. I normally go to morning classes because it fits my schedule as a dad and I'm surprised by how consistently many others (new and experienced) wake up to train! If you're looking to join a new BJJ gym, this is the gym to go to. You won't regret checking this place out!
