The teachers are amazing, and I love the friendly staff . Professor Otavio is awesome
Nothing but good things to say. The staff, the environment- everyone makes you feel right at home. The classes are Amazing - the instructors are amazing. My son is 9 and he’s having an amazing time while building confidence xx highly recommend.
King Of The Mats is easily one of the best jiu-jitsu gyms in Etobicoke. The atmosphere is welcoming, the facility is clean, and the coaching is outstanding. Coaches Jamaal, Otavio, and Martin do an amazing job with the kids’ program, helping build confidence, discipline, and high-level jiu-jitsu in a fun and supportive environment. Coach Avni runs an excellent Greco wrestling program that perfectly complements the jiu-jitsu training. For adults, Coach Sam is an incredible instructor with outstanding technical knowledge and a teaching style that’s easy to follow for all experience levels. If you’re looking for a gym with great coaching, a positive team culture, and programs for both kids and adults, King Of The Mats is the place to train. Highly recommended!
We’ve been at KOM for 3 months with our 6 year old and I’m not sure I could recommend it highly enough. Incredible coaches and community. South Etobicoke is lucky to have a room of this caliber.
Best Jiu-Jitsu club in Toronto. My grandson enjoys friendly atmosphere and amazing coaches. Except Jiu-Jitsu my son also trains wrestling and Muay Thai here. If you like your kids learn martial arts, I highly recommend KOM.
I’ve been training at KOM King of the Mats and honestly it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for my training. The gym has four black belt coaches, and the level of instruction here is outstanding. The coaches are extremely attentive and constantly helping you improve. They don’t just let you go through the motions they watch what you’re doing, correct your mistakes, and push you to get better every single class. That level of coaching makes a huge difference if you’re serious about progressing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The environment is also amazing. The gym has a very strong group of athletes and a great community. Everyone trains hard but is also supportive, which creates the perfect atmosphere to grow and improve. Being surrounded by dedicated people really pushes you to level up your own game. Another thing I really like is that we train MMA three times a week, where we focus on takedowns and smooth transitions to the ground. It’s great because it connects the stand-up grappling with the ground game, which helps you develop a much more complete skill set. What stands out the most is how focused the gym is on real progress. The coaches are always watching and telling you exactly what you need to improve. If you train consistently and listen to them, you will absolutely see results. If you’re looking for a place where every penny is worth it because you actually get better, this is the gym. In my opinion it’s one of the best places in the area if you want to become good at BJJ and see fast progress. Highly recommend it to anyone whether you’re a beginner or already experienced.
