Have really enjoyed training here. This is a mixed martial arts type of training that incorporates many styles that foster good self defense techniques. This includes Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, Judo and Akido (as far as I know). I’ve enjoyed my time here and the people are very friendly to train with. The environment is very inclusive of all fitness and training levels. This place is great!
Great place to learn Jiu Jitsu alongside likeminded people. Everyone is here to learn and practice, and the coaches are very skilled. The fact that the everyone is also personable and friendly, makes training a pleasure.
This is my first experience with any kind of martial arts. So far, it has been exciting, practical from a defense point of view, and a great means of fitness. I’ve been going for about 3 months. The focus for beginners has largely been disengaging and de-escalation, which I think makes sense, prior to learning how to full-on fight. All of the instructors are fabulous and do an amazing job explaining why, or why not, to do certain things in each situation. I attend the adult classes, which consist of men and women. Class size varies, but on average (the days I attend) there’s around 10-12 students, of varying levels. You pay a flat monthly fee and can attend as much as 4 times a week - a great value. Warm ups can be a little intense, but this has helped build my strength and endurance. I’m looking forward to learning more about the art and seeing my defense and fighting abilities improve. :)

The dojo has expanded in size and has many more students than when I started. As I get further into the curriculum, I am increasingly impressed by how practical and well rounded it is. We learn striking and and blocks - punches, kicks, elbows, knees; takedowns and falls - both judo and wrestling; submission grappling - basically BJJ with striking; escapes from every type of hold; and basic weapons defense. We also learn to chain all this together into combos. We learn fighting both in the formal jujutsu style with a gi on and a self defense oriented style in street clothes. What really impresses me is how much love drills and sparring we have to do. We have to test what we learn on resisting opponents who are trying to hit us and resist. In addition, the belts aren't given away because you have put in your time. You have to prove you know your moves well to get invited to a test. The belt tests after the second one become very difficult with the addition of real bare knuckle fighting against waves of attackers - exhausting and difficult. To rise in the ranks, you have to know how to fight and become fit enough to be able to use it. I absolutely love it here.
I train JiuJitsu with my daughter and we love it at Jiu Jitsu Roswell. The place is family friendly and the instructors are knowledgeable and nice, no matter what’s your level. When I compared it with other places I found that their pricing is low and they don’t even require contracts. Highly recommended!
This is a great place to take Jiu Jitsu. The instructor is very knowledgeable and cares very much about the students and is very helpful. The techniques we learn are very effective. I would recommend it to everyone. Everyone should know self defense.
Love it here! I had no experience with martial arts. Pertti with Jiu Jitsu is the real deal. He loves teaching, and makes you feel at ease. There are no gimmicks at Jiu Jitsu Roswell and its very affordable. Other places i checked out felt more about $$$ than anything else. In fact, there were many times Pertti had to be reminded the class ended 5-10 minutes ago...great place!
Having had no prior martial arts training, I was looking for a place where my son and I could train side by side. We've found a great place in Jiu Jitsu Roswell. We are really enjoying the varied techniques we are learning and the instructor and other students have all been welcoming and eager to help.
I’m training at Jiu Jitsu Roswell with some of my good friends for a while now. I highly recommend this program has helped me feel safe and the instructor makes it a great experience. The people there create a great atmosphere.
I was so worried about my safety and the safety of my family. Thanks to every self defense skill I learned, I feel not only safer, but fit and lost more than 10 lb in my first 6 weeks of training. Thank you Jiu Jitsu Roswell !
It is big and clean place for training Jiujitsu. The instructor is fun and knowledgeable. I recommend this place for those who wants to get in shape and be physically active and get self-defense skills.
I train with my daughter in Jiu Jitsu Roswell and liike it a lot. It is good training for adults and youth. The place is clean and big.
Have been here with my son and it's been great family oriented exercise!
Great and personalized Program for adults, specially selfdefense training.
Great group, excellent instructors. Highly recommended!!
I️ trained her for two weeks and I️ can say that this place is a great martial arts school
I've been training with my girl friends and family for over 8 years! It is a great place with great people. It's a lot of fun with a great instructor. (So happy he finally got me in shape:)
Signed up for a week of Jiu Jitsu here--it's easy to tell already that the instructors are extremely knowledgeable. Pertti has been excellent and the atmosphere is conducive to learning.
I have trained with my friend at Jiu Jitsu Roswell for 3 months now. The group is fun and the instructors know their stuff. I have learned a lot already. The place is very big and it’s great for all the different exercises we do.
Ive been in law enforcement for over 16 years now and have studied several different types of martial arts over the years. I've never found a style that is as well rounded and practical as Hokutoryu Jiu Jitsu. I've been a member at this school for over three years and in additional to learning how to protect yourself from real world threats, you also get an amazing workout. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to get in shape and learn what modern day self defense tactics is all about.
I have been training here for 6 years, and it continues to be an incredible experience. The instructors are real experts in martial arts who have a passion for what they teach. The workouts are challenging and the self-defense is extremely practical. Through training here I have great confidence in life with the knowledge that I can handle myself and defend others (should an unfortunate situation arise), as well as the knowledge on how to prevent those kind situations from occurring.
I have been training here since February 2011. I have learned so much in that time. The techniques mix the traditional Japanese techniques with ground techniques. We practice locks, and spend time in every class with our strikes (punches, elbows, kicks, etc). But we learn a lot of practical self defense applications, such as situational awareness. It has helped boost my confidence, both at work and in how I carry myself in public.
I have been a member of Jiu Jitsu Roswell for 5 years. I highly recommend this place for everyone who is looking for a great workout and interested in learning martial arts. It is a great way to stay in shape and gain some self esteem. The instructor is an extraordinary expert in martial arts, self defense and sportsmanship. And the last but not least - all students and instructors are great people and I found a lot of best friends among them.
I joined Jiu Jitsu Roswell about 2 years ago and love their complete approach. I lost over 30 pounds in my first 3 months of training due to the workouts that pushed my limits. The group is fun and family oriented and the instructors are very experienced. I highly recommend to all ages!
It's fun learning and using the techniques like other dojos but here you actually get told why you would use the move and under what circumstances. I had trouble understanding how to do certain techniques in my other dojo but here sensei Perrti shows very well with a lot of knowledge how you would do hard or easy techniques.
Most awesome and complete martial art class ever. I've done martial arts for over 6 years and recently moved to this new dojo about 2 months ago. It's been the best dojo I've gone to. Very complete, as I learn kicks, punches, grapples, throws, take downs, chokes, and how to escape from different situation. It definitely boosts my confidence, which is nice as I am more comfortable since I'm in middle school. Would give 6 stars but sadly I can't. YOU NEED TO GIVE IT A TRY!!!
Joined 3 weeks ago, very good instructor! Fun class and good workout. Good people to learn how to do self defense with. A must have class!
This place has helped me so much ! I go to middle school and Jiu Jitsu Roswell has taught me to defend myself if there was ever a dangerous situation. This place is great for all ages and I definitely recommend to anyone who would like to defend and learn some sick skills ! Give it a try one day !
Great facility and extremely knowledgeable instructor. Good blend of fitness and self defense.
Friend of mine recommended this Jiu Jitsu class for about a year ago when I started training. I was already in a good shape so I was looking for a training that would push my limits and also teach me effective self defense skills I could use to defend myself and my kids if need be. All the instructors are very knowledgeable and the group is family-friendly and fun. My kids train with me which is a great opportunity to have some mom-daughter time together. I highly recommend this training to all ages.
I've been a member of Jiu Jitsu Roswell for 7 years. Training here is fun, versatile and effective. The instructors are very supportive and have a lot of experience in different martial arts and self defense. The exercises consist of standing and ground techniques, including escapes from different holds, ground defense, blocks, strikes and kicks. More advanced students also practice take downs, throws, sparring and defense against weapons. The best part about the training for me is that I always feel like great and relaxed after the training, especially after a long work day.
Hello! I like these jiu jitsu club. It gives intensive warmups which make me ready to practice techniques. They teach take downs, throws, locks, chokes, punches, kicks. I like these classes because one day I practice punches and kicks and the other day I practice throws and locks. Facility is great. It is big. I has lockers and showers. The classes make me more confident, relaxed after work and fit. After each class I want to come again to continue improving my fighting techniques.
Excellent Jiu Jitsu class. They teach everything including take downs, ground fighting, locks and submissions, escapes, kicks and punches. Very complete approach to Jiu Jitsu. I also like the warmup drills because they keep me fit. The instructors are very knowledgeable and they trained Jiu Jitsu in Brazil. They teach the techniques in a clear, easy to understand manner.
I've been training with this club for over 7 years now. Outstanding workout and efficient jujutsu techniques. The instruction is fantastic!
My friend brought me to train here and it was a lot of fun ! The facilities are really nice and clean. It was a great experience! Would definitely recommend it :)
I have been training with Jiu Jitsu Roswell for over a year and really love their training. I have gotten into great shape and learned practical self defense skills at the same time. They have a huge facility that is always kept clean and was recently renovated. The environment is fun and safe and they have students of all ages. The classes are great both for beginners and advanced students.
