Who knew such high level instruction was available in this small mountain town. Attended an 1130 Tuesday class and Diego was the instructor. This guy is the real deal, amazing knowledge, proper tone in class, and he just surfed me our entire roll. Easily could've went for the sub but he just went from dominant position to dominant position without using force or strength. It's what BJJ is supposed to be, can't wait to drop-in again!

I moved to Roswell after years of living and training in New York City so I have experience with several bjj gyms. I joined this gym 2.5 years ago. This gym is excellent largely because the instructor's are great and the people who train here are kind and helpful. I now have my 12 year old daughter training here and she has fallen in love with bjj as well.

I’m in my 50’s and have been going to Diego Saraiva Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) for about a 18 months now and DS BJJ has become like a second family. All of the men and women here are so respectful, kind and it’s a great place to learn the art of BJJ. Professor DJ, Professor Jason and Professor Mike, are all fantastic people and teachers who love BJJ and truly enjoy teaching others. Additionally, they have a great kids program that really teaches kids the value of respect, discipline and hard work, while making it fun and getting the kids engaged to learn. If you want to get a great workout, have fun doing it and build a network of people you’ll enjoy being around, this is the place to be!! Oss
Best BJJ studio in the area. Great professors! All the people are super friendly and make everyone feel welcome. Nobody is too aggressive or trying to hurt other members. Members from kids to 60 years olds, men and women. 10/10 recommend!
What more can be said, after one visit you’re hooked. The instructors are patient, down to earth people who understand that not everyone is on the same wave length. These guys are incredible at what they do, and they make you feel comfortable while learning an amazing talent and be part of the team no matter where you come from. First off, this review is long overdue. I visited Diego Saraiva BJJ in Roswell/Crabapple last November while visiting relatives over Thanksgiving break. I attended an afternoon no-gi class and had a great time. The gym was very welcoming and I was immediately treated as a teammate. Coach Jason was very knowledgeable and taught some fun techniques (a guillotine choke to sweep progression and various wrist lock set ups from closed guard). The facility is clean and well maintained with plenty of mat space. The students are friendly and provided tough rolls. If you live in the Roswell area, or just visiting from out of town, and are looking for a great place to train BJJ, I highly recommend visiting Diego Saraiva BJJ.
Really great instruction and group to train with. I go out of my way to train here because of the caliber of the people I get to train with. The instructors and students are patient and skilled and want to help everyone improve.

I have been very happy with the atmosphere! There are no ego’s and everyone is hungry to learn and roll! The instructors, Jason and Chris have a lot of knowledge and patience. Stop in and take a class, it will test you mentally and physically, but will also be a lot of fun.
My experience here has been A+. When I moved, distance prevented me from staying with my former gym. That was really hard for me, but I knew I needed to train closer to home with my growing family. While looking around the area, I was at the business next door when I noticed a Diego Saraiva BJJ sticker on the door of what I had previously thought was a karate dojo. Knowing of Diego and his reputation, I stuck my head in the door and got to know Jason. Within a fairly short period, I joined. There are a few things I really love about the gym: 1) The culture - people here really like each other and care to help each other grow. I couldn't train in an environment that lacks this. 2) The leadership at the gym - Jason / Chris are really great people who take an above / beyond interest in seeing their students grow. 3) The leadership across the affiliation - DJ and Diego are phenomenal. Whether it's weekly rolls and instruction with DJ or the times I can get to HQ and train with Diego and the team there, I enjoy the affiliation and my teammates at the other locations. I would recommend this to to all ranges of practitioners at any point in your journey. Whether you've never set foot on a mat or you've trained for years, this is a great place that you will find quite welcoming.
Wait wait wait. Is this a Karate place or a Jiu Jitsu place? ITS BOTH!!! Man I was a bit stressed. I was trying to figure out a good gym to get some family friendly rolls in while I was here on business. I called a couple of places and they wanted mat fees that rang in around 45 bucks. No offense to any of them but I welcome all travelers to my home gym where I am an instructor. I also welcome upper belts with no fees. I want a family first gym to train at. Dont get me wrong... love killers and I can hang with the best of them, but I have work in the morning. I want to break a sweat and train hard, but not comp training, I am not in camp right now lets all just chill and be friends. Boy was I blown away. Not only that this place teaches both high level point style Karate systems with an EXCELLENT kids program to boot BUT THAT ALSO HAVE HIGH LEVEL JITZ! Chris the owner was welcoming and easy to talk to. Super technical and a wonderful CACC background that really spoke to my soul. He is a highly decorated competitor that has traveled the world and trained with the best on the planet. He brings that back to his club and shares like a good owner should! Jason was leading the class tonight and as a fellow BBB (Brown Belt & Bald) fellow I feel like we had a kinship from the drop. He let me lead warm ups and got right in to curriculum from there. Most folks dont care about basics class and just teach whatever they want. No. Not here. We focused on the basics and had a solid logical progression. We started with hip movement to secure arm bars then drilled down into the details of securing it. But it didnt stop there. One of my biggest pet peeves is when an instructor shows a tech but then shows no defense. NOPE Jason nailed the defense AND also allowed me to teach a few details of my own to his students. People say there is too much ego in BJJ but this school shows that you can be high level and still be humble. Both Jason and Chris gifted me with a roll when it came time to spar. We had a fun playful round. We both felt out each other and saw interesting techniques on both sides that lead to questions after the round. You really know you are at a good gym when the owner and the head instructor are both open to learning. It takes a lot to have a visitor come in and be humble enough to inquire about their skills and be truly and earnestly interested. I cant say enough about these guys. If you are looking to visit a gym this the one. Cheers.

This is a phenomenal place to learn jiu jitsu, whether you are interested in competing seriously or are looking to take up a new hobby to challenge yourself. The team feels like a family, and everyone is very welcoming and supportive. Jason and Chris are both excellent instructors and wonderful people that maintain an environment that is great for anyone interested in training and learning the sport. Can’t recommend highly enough!

I felt more welcomed here than alot of places. The group was small and the instructors were people I would have a drink with in real life. You will feel at home here.
Really enjoy working with Jason and the members there. The focus on technique and then having an opportunity to roll and try things out is engaging. The upper belts don’t mind taking a break mid roll to show you a few techniques and help you see moves in the moment. Check them out if you get a chance.
Jason and Chris have been great instructors since I started in October. I look forward to coming 2-3 times a week. Jason and the others all look out for each other and show respect to everyone. I plan to be here as long as I’m in Roswell. If you haven’t practiced a day in your life. This is a great place to start because everyone wants you to learn and will give you the confidence needed. If you’re experienced, this place is just as good because there are plenty of skill levels for you to practice with.
I have been training here once or twice a week since they opened the new location. Great level of instruction that caters to both beginner and intermediate practitioners. Questions are encouraged and often classes will cater to problem solving techniques that students feel they need improvement on.
The facility is immaculate, the instruction is great, and the people have fun. Above all, everyone is very welcoming and easy-going. Family atmosphere with good training and lots of laughs.
