My kids have been training BJJ with Fabio for 6 years. Fabio is an amazing Master, Coach, Personal Trainer and Mentor to the kids he trains. I cant imagine training with anyone else. What a real treat to have this in the heart of Maida vale and the community. And if your looking for a personal trainer, Fabio is one of the best Ive worked with.
I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to Jiu Jitsu than starting with Fabio @ Jisso. Everyone is super welcoming and friendly also knowledgeable & patient. It’s a great atmosphere and energy for all levels, genders and ages. I’ve travel a lot and have trained at many academies in Europe - Jisso is the best. Amazing coaching Team !!
My nearly 5YO daughter has been coming here for nearly a year and I cannot recommend the team enough! Fabio leads with discipline and passion, clear instructions with lots of fun and technique rolled into every session. The kids learn how to do drills, spar and how to respect their team mates. Together with Joao, running the 4-6 YO class, they’ve truly built a practice that teaches age appropriate skills as well as the theory behind BJJ. Coming here twice a week after school has been a ritual both of us have come to treasure.
I have been training at Jisso Academy for over 2y now and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Technique, structure, community, respect are top tier. I’d love to recommend this jiu-jitsu academy. My son trains here, and I also attend the adult classes myself. I have a background in training and coaching (in a different field), so I’m quite selective and, honestly, it’s not easy for me to find truly competent specialists. That’s why I especially value the way training is delivered here. The classes never feel repetitive, the structure is thoughtful, and for the first time I really feel that I’m able to study and understand the technique, rather than just follow movements. Huge thanks to the founder and head coach, Fabio, for the quality of teaching and the atmosphere he’s created. I truly hope I’ll be able to attend this academy more often in the future. While the class covered a basic chain of attacks, Fabio gave some fantastic details that even upper belts could learn from. One note, the location can be a little difficult to find as it's currently above a youth center and google likes to take you in a way that's blocked by construction. Thanks again Fabio for the time and hospitality.
Posted 1 year agoBefore signing up at Jisso, I tried two other schools, and by far, this was the best one. So much so that I also enrolled my son. Fabio and the rest of the staff are amazing. Fabio has a lot of experience teaching adults and kids and is well-connected in the BJJ world, bringing the extra benefit of having the chance to train with and get help from renowned individuals in the BJJ community. As if this wasn't enough, Jisso has a supportive and welcoming community that opens its mats to all. I couldn't have hoped for a better start in the art of BJJ.
I joined to the Jisso Academy last year and it's been a huge transformation in my body and mind both understanding the fundamentals of BJJ and applying it. Fabio Prado is such a good teacher to not just show you the move explain why and how slowly. Additionally all the members are very helpful and kind to each other, makes you feel like you're part of the family.
