I've been training here for 9 months, and absolutely would recommend this facility to anyone. Prof. Eldred and his staff provide excellent instruction, in a welcoming environment. If you are considering taking up Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, this is the place to come!

I started training at Indy BJJ around the beginning of 2022 after a few months of training at a different academy in another state. Upon moving back to Indy I did a google search to see what Jiu Jitsu schools were in town. Indy BJJ grabbed my attention because of Professor Eldred's lineage. If you haven't read it be sure to go check out their website and read about who Professor learned his Jiu Jitsu from. If you want a tried and true proven method of self defense then this is the place for you. Each of the professors and instructors are incredibly knowledgable and all bring a little different piece to the puzzle. I learn something new each time I come to class. In addition the sense of community at this academy is unmatched. This isn't your typical after work recreational hobby. You will find yourself becoming very close with your fellow peers in a way that can only be described as family. If you have ever practiced any form of martial arts then you know what I'm talking about, and if you haven't then schedule a visit to come find out for yourself. Hope to see you there!

Been doing private classes here for over two years. All the instructors are awesome. Safety is always a top priority. Great Gracie gym!

I have been attending Indianapolis BJJ for about 14 months now, and it has been an amazing experience so far. Started when I was 56 years old. Professor Eldred and his staff are excellent instructors of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It is a completely safe and supportive atmosphere at the academy in which all students respect each other, and work to be great training partners. Like any decision you make in life, you get out of it what you put into it. If you come to class check your ego at the door, willing to learn, and listen/respect your instructors and fellow students, I guarantee you that Professor Eldred and his instructors will make sure you get the training and education you need to build self-confidence and real life skills. Indianapolis BJJ is a great community in which I have gotten to know a number of great people and make real connections. I remember my first class, and make sure I greet any new student I see in class so that they feel welcome and supported. Why...because that was my first experience at Indianapolis BJJ. Our advanced belts are also wonderful people who will share their knowledge and experience with you while on the mat. One word of advice...BJJ is a journey! As a white belt you may not feel like you are making progress, but I guarantee you are. The key is to keep coming back. At Indianapolis BJJ, I guarantee you will be hooked after your first class.
