  Our family is incredibly grateful to Professor Fabio and the entire team at Impulse Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Our two daughters, aged 5 and 9, have been training here for the past two years, and the difference it has made in their lives is beyond anything we expected. They have grown not only as young athletes but, more importantly, as confident, respectful, and resilient children. Under Professor Fabio's guidance, they have developed self-confidence, emotional control, discipline, respect for others, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Watching them become more independent and believe in themselves has been one of the greatest rewards as parents. The self-defence skills they are learning are invaluable, but what truly sets Impulse Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu apart is its focus on building character, teaching responsibility, and creating a positive environment where every child feels supported and motivated. Thank you, Professor Fabio, for your passion, dedication, and for being such a positive role model.   Seeing my daughter grow in confidence after starting just a couple of months ago has been amazing to watch. Being smaller and less experienced than others means she is learning she can’t always (or ever at present) win, but that’s not what’s important, she is learning, having fun, and meeting new friends.   I couldn't recommend Impulse BJJ enough! Fabio and his team of coaches provide an encouraging and fun experience for children. There's a great balance between technique, discipline and fun throughout the classes. What I love about the community is that it's welcoming and inclusive. My daughter's have been going for 6 months now and absolutely love it!

  My son Alexandre is starting jiujutsu 3 months ago and he just love it 😊 every day that he need to go training he is so excited for it . I can see a bit improvement of his discipline at home too because of jujitsu . Thanks all the coaches that teach Alexandre for the pacience and care given to him and to all the class .   Impulse Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, based in Orton Southgate, Peterborough, has been a fantastic martial arts school for our children. Our 7-year-old attends twice a week and our 5-year-old goes once a week, and they both look forward to every class. We joined Impulse BJJ because we wanted a safe, structured, and family-friendly Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy in Peterborough, and this place really delivers. We’re not expecting big changes right away, we’re focused on the long-term benefits. BJJ is something our kids can grow with, and we want them to build confidence, discipline, and the ability to look after themselves when they’re teenagers. That’s the main reason we chose a local self-defence school instead of just another sports club. The coaching here is excellent. Fabio, the head coach, is great with the kids, patient, clear, and really good at keeping them focused without making them feel pressured. L’neicha is also amazing with the younger children and brings so much positive energy into every class. You can tell both coaches genuinely care about the kids’ development. The gym is clean, well organised, and easy to get to in Orton Southgate, especially if you’re coming from surrounding areas like Orton Goldhay, Orton Brimbles, Orton Wistow, Hampton, or Old Fletton. Parking is easy too, which is always a bonus for parents. If you’re looking for kids martial arts, children’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, or self-defence classes for kids in Peterborough, Impulse BJJ is a brilliant choice. Highly recommended for local families who want their children to grow up confident, disciplined, and capable.

  I have been at Impulse for about one month now and absolutely love it!! The coaches are excellent. You really feel how much they want you to improve and they are very encouraging. The club also has an excellent team. Everyone is incredibly friendly and willing to help you in your Ju Jitsu journey. As I finish a class and walk out the door I am already looking forward to my next class. I live about an hour away from the club, but it is well worth the journey. I feel very lucky to be part of this club.

  I can’t say enough good things about the classes at Impulse Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that my 6 year old daughter goes to! The instructors Fabio and L’neicha are awesome—super patient and great at making the classes fun. She’s learning so much more than just Jiu-Jitsu; she’s picking up important lessons on discipline, respect, and working with others. It’s amazing to see her grow in confidence and focus, and she genuinely looks forward to every class. I’m so happy we found this, and I’d definitely recommend it to any other parents looking for a great activity for their kids!

  I've been training at this Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym for 6 months, and it's been an incredible experience. The instructors are not only highly skilled but also genuinely passionate about teaching and helping students progress. They create a supportive environment where everyone, from beginners to advanced practitioners, feels welcome and encouraged to improve. The gym itself is clean, spacious. The community here is amazing—everyone is respectful, focused, and always willing to help each other out. If you're looking to learn BJJ or take your skills to the next level, this is definitely the place to be!

What people under estimate is the benefit that can be gained not only physically but also for your confidence - you will gain immensely in both areas at Impulse. It's the attention to detail and personal guidance I and others most benefit from, subtle changes which make a significant difference, through feedback and coaching given in a professional yet kind way.   I was working in the area and stopped in for a class. Great facility, really nice group of people that all made me feel very welcome, I attended the beginner class and really enjoyed the attention to detail during the demonstrations and coaching. If you train bjj and are in or around Peterborough, it’s definitely worth a visit!

  I started at Impulse BJJ almost three months ago and I’m so glad I made the decision to start. As a woman in her 30s, with no previous martial art experience, I was worried about picking up a contact sport and if I would find the environment intimidating. However, from the first time I reached out to them, I received the warmest welcome from the coaches. I started with a taster class and was happy to see there was a beginner class and lots of women there of similar size to me and people of all different levels of experience. I turned up to my first session alone but was never made to feel out of place and I know many others felt just as included on the first time they turned up. Everyone is super encouraging and I’ve been able to make many friends due to how friendly the culture is there. It’s nice to be in an environment where people respect one another and the coaches and to learn something new, that I hope is a long journey ahead.
