My two daughters (10 and 15) and I have been coming here for about a year now, and we all love it. I started training at 43 and was honestly pretty intimidated at first, but not just the staff — all of the students are incredibly supportive and kind. They really do create a welcoming environment that makes you feel comfortable right away. The adult class instructors are super knowledgeable, easy to learn from, and make training a lot of fun. TJ teaches the kids’ classes, and both my girls always talk about how much they enjoy working with him. I definitely recommend this place for both kids and adults — it’s an awesome spot to train, learn, and be part of a great community.
Posted 10 months agoImpact Jiu Jitsu has been an incredible experience for my son. The facility is top notch, well equipped, welcoming, and always kept very clean. Coach TJ brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the youth program, but what stands out most is his dedication. He doesn’t just teach Jiu Jitsu, he teaches life lessons, instilling confidence, discipline, and respect in every student. Since joining, my son has grown tremendously, transforming from a shy kid into a confident, outgoing young man. Competing has become a regular part of his journey, and Coach TJ always ensures he’s well prepared for tournaments. If you’re looking for the right sport for your child, I can’t recommend Impact Jiu Jitsu enough. Bring them in, you won’t regret it!
Posted 11 months agoMy son has been attending Impact for more than a year. Since Coach TJ took over the youth program last fall, I have seen a great increase in not only his skills, but his personal development. Coach TJ has an amazing personality for working with kids. He’s upbeat and energetic but he can be tough and have expectations at the same time. He is funny as heck sometimes and really pays attention to each child and knows their weaknesses and strengths and works with those. We are so thankful for Impact and the family feeling we experience there. Also, the gym is so clean and well maintained and the staff, including manager Alycia, are wonderful. I always get a speedy and thorough response whenever I have questions.
Posted 11 months agoCoach TJ is amazing with the youth program at Impact Jiujitsu Mac. He’s takes the time to get to know each kids strengths and weaknesses and then helps them build off that individually while in a group setting. He’s very patient with the kids and explains the moves in a way they can understand. My son and I love Impact Mac very much and it has become our jiujitsu family. 10 out of 10 recommend. And Coach TJ is top tier.
Posted 11 months agoOur son has been going here for a little over a year and the growth that we've seen in his character, facing fear, controlling emotion,on top of learning the art of jiu-jitsu, is truly shaping the man he's going to become. We cannot thank coach TJ enough for all that he has poured into him. He's a very devoted and attentive person that takes time and shows our kids how to use jiu-jitsu not only in the gym but outside where real life happens. Thank you coach TJ "Be First"! Cant say enough good things about the staff here they are wonderful and truly care about our kids. Coach Johnny thank you for this gym. It's means so much to us.
Posted 11 months agoGreat people great atmosphere. The coaches are super knowledgeable and very friendly. Shout out to coach James!
Great gym!! My son has been going there for a couple years. I recently joined after they opened their new location with all the extra amenities like cold plunge, sauna and weights. Impact has great staff and are super welcoming to everyone. If you ever wanted to try out BJJ I don’t think there is a better more welcoming gym.
The greatest Jui Jitsu academy ever.
My daughter has been coming here for 3 years now for the Jiu Jitsu program and loves it. It's been great to be a part of this academy and the coaches are great with the kids.
I’ve been comming to impact for some months now, I notice my self esteem is higher and my confidence is through the roof after practice. And I believe it’s because the blood flow is roaring through the body. This isn’t like lifting weights, you are in survival mode, when rolling you can feel the other persons heart beat and then it shifts that feeling back to you, because the other person wants to win and you want to win and it’s just so much more then jiujutsu. It’s deeper than the surface. I love it and I can’t see myself going back. I keep it at a minimum of 3 days a week so I don’t get burnt out and I keep that consistent learning growth. Highly recommend this!
We are so grateful to be apart of the Impact Jiu Jitsu McMinnville family. Our daughter has been apart of the academy for almost 3 years now and absolutely loves it. The confidence she has gained has been amazing to watch. The coaches are amazing with kids and the new academy is great! Thank you, Impact Mac.
Super nice coaches and amazing environment.
I like the way the coaches motivate the children to learn all the techniques
We could not be more grateful for the coaches and staff at Impact. We have kids participating in both the jiu jitsu and gymnastics programs. With a focus on character first, Impact is an excellent space to grow in skills applicable to both sports and life.
Our family loves impact jiu-jitsu McMinnville. My son has been doing jiu-jitsu for 2.5 years and we love the confidence and self awareness it has given him. All the coaches are great and have grown to be role models for our children!
Three of my kids go to impact and love it! The facility and the coaches are amazing!
Loved training here! Such a welcoming group and every instructor has something different to offer. If you're a lady interested in BJJ with little experience you will have a positive experience here and have other women to train with.
The Impact Jiu Jitsu family is amazing. My home location is in Hillsboro but I find every opportunity I can to train with the warriors over here. As an introverted person I’m always nervous to go to new places but I can tell you I am welcomed with such open arms every time I visit it feels like a second home. If you have any interest in martial arts I highly suggest trying it out here
It's a tight knit group. Very welcoming to new folks. I'm going to be going back Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Can't wait to see the team there
This place is a sanctuary for the mind, body and soul. Come check it out!!
The growth in my children, both on the mat and off is just incredible. The coaches are the greatest, front desk is amazing, parents and kids are the best! Love the environment and feel like we made a great choice signing our kids up
All of the coaches are so good! The people are just amazing. Love impact!
This place is fantastic! We’ve had 2 of our kids enrolled in classes for a year now with coach Ali and Ashton, and they absolutely love it! All of the coaches are amazing with our kids, and make them feel comfortable and safe. The entire staff makes you feel like part of a family. And my kids are having fun and learning so much, even beyond just physically learning Jiu Jitsu, they teach them self control, responsibility, respect and so much more! Highly recommended!
Awesome time! I just started coming here a couple weeks ago and I feel like I've learned a good amount already.
Great people, very inviting and friendly to new comers. Made my 10 year old daughter feel very comfortable and she is excited to start her journey with them.
My kids have gone here for years. The coaches are the best. Coach Ali is so supportive to the kids.
The instructors are the best! They inspire all of their students to be better athletes and more than that, better humans. They teach respect, that alone is worth it, but the amount of self confidence my son gained while attending was immeasurable. They are truly good people with a pure mission that is honestly inspiring. The support they provide to the students is unmatched when compared to conventional sports programs. This is a great community that promotes the values of integrity and respect.
I honestly can not say enough good things about impact and what the last 18 months or so of training has done for me.
Love this place and the people that run it! Amazing for kids! Stop in and cke k it out yourself. They offer a free week to adults and 2 free weeks to kids!
Excellent jiu jitsu training. Coaches are good at catching spelling errors, too.
The coaches are great. Patient and good at redirecting them to focus. Sometimes, there are just more kids paired up than coaches. So if they are novice, they kinda wait around. Which is fine. Everyone needs coaching. I don't mind the pricing. I think it's fair if you're attending every class. It's around $10 a class. I put my son in here to help with self-discipline, focus, and self-defense. He has been here about a month and a half, and I've seen confidence outside of the mat. The coaches are getting more comfortable knowing where he needs to be refocused. The cons are that there's not enough seating for full classes. M/W Siblings or small children have a short rope here. No toys puzzles games. I had a stuffed animal for my 3yr old. it's only okay if she's not playing with it too much. I haven't quite figured out how to occupy her, so she's not being a distraction, but we are working on it. Seems like a tablet or one or two books is the window. I just don't like screen time. And books only occupy for about 5 or 10 min max
I emailed to ask what was needed to sign up for a trail and was told need to be there early fill out paperwork and not much more. My son and husband show up and the lady at the front is very condescending and states several times my son needs to be clean to do the class as if he was covered head to toe in mud or hasn't bathed in days. He is 7 and needed to wipe his face after eating it wasn't even his whole face just a spot and she just kept insisting he was unclean and needed to be in exercise clothes which it was not mentioned in the email that exercise clothes were needed and it was completely inappropriate they way she insinuated my kid was unclean and needed to be clean. They are kids and they teach kids classes you would think there would be a little more understanding and compassion not condescending and judgment. We will be looking elsewhere for classes for our children.
Condescending receptionist is a HUGE turn off, we will be taking our kids elsewhere. If that's how they treat potential new customers, It is a reflection on the whole operation
Have come in twice now to get a 10 class pack for my kid as a gift after emailing about it. Was told to come in during business hours to pick up. First time they were nice but no one could help me because it was open gym. Told me to come back Monday. I did, I walked in and no one at the desk and the place is filled with parents all not wearing a mask. So much for giving this place my business. Unorganized!
