Truly an outstanding place to train! Impact Fountain Hills is more than just a gym, it’s a strong community and network that is dedicated to helping one another both on and off the mats. I’ve been to many gyms that are unwelcoming or have an adversarial environment, but you will never feel that way here! This is a place where you can learn and feel like part of the team, irrespective of skill level or physical gifts. All are welcome here!
Becoming part of Impact Jiu-Jitsu Fountain Hills has been like joining an extended family for my wife, daughter, and me. When we were searching for a gym, my top priority was finding a safe place for my daughter to train. Impact stood out with its commitment to safety, complete with background checks on coaches and comprehensive safety procedures, making the extra drive worthwhile for our peace of mind. Beyond the safety measures, what got my attention was the unique museum like atmosphere, the positive community vibe, and the presence of legit Jiu-Jitsu coaching. With my daughter actively participating in the kids' classes for about a year now, the growth in her confidence has been beyond words. For those seeking not just safety but an enjoyable family training experience, Impact Jiu-Jitsu gets 5 stars from us.
Fantastic gym! I can’t recommend it enough. One of the best atmospheres a gym could have, with great people. I travel a lot, and have visited many gyms over the years….this is my favorite. Thanks for the great training, and I look forward to my next visit!
Great spot for kids, beginners through advanced practitioners. Mike's instructional abilities are outstanding on many levels. Just go train!!!!
One of my favorite gyms to train at! Everyone is really nice and the coaches are great. Awesome community
I recently had the privilege of training at Impact Jujutsu in Fountain Hills, Arizona, and I am thrilled to give them a well-deserved five-star review. From the moment I stepped into the dojo, I could feel the professionalism and passion that permeated the atmosphere. The instructors at Impact Jujutsu are truly exceptional. Their knowledge and expertise in jujutsu are unparalleled, and they possess a remarkable ability to break down complex techniques into easily understandable concepts. They create a supportive and inclusive environment, where students of all levels are welcomed and encouraged to grow. The training sessions at Impact Jujutsu are intense and challenging, but also incredibly rewarding. The instructors guide you through a well-structured curriculum that covers a wide range of techniques, from striking and grappling to self-defense scenarios. Each class is thoughtfully designed to build upon the skills learned previously, allowing for continuous progress and development. One aspect that sets Impact Jujutsu apart is the strong sense of community. The fellow students are friendly, dedicated, and always willing to help one another. The camaraderie and mutual respect within the dojo create an inspiring and motivating atmosphere that keeps you coming back for more. The facilities at Impact Jujutsu are top-notch. The dojo is spacious, well-maintained, and equipped with all the necessary training equipment. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced martial artist, you'll find everything you need to enhance your jujutsu journey. Impact Jujutsu in Fountain is a hidden gem for anyone looking to train in jujutsu. The knowledgeable instructors, challenging classes, supportive community, and excellent facilities make it a place where you can truly thrive. I wholeheartedly recommend Impact Jujutsu to anyone seeking a transformative martial arts experience.
My children have been wrestling and doing Jiu jitsu here for years! It’s such a warm and inviting environment for my children! I love how they get a great workout and learn skills that will help them for the rest of their lives. Parents, do yourself a favor and take your children here!
Impact Jiu-Jitsu Fountain Hills is truly unique in every way; seriously, this place is special. Starting with the first impression, I was greeted at the front door by a really nice owner who helped me sign in and understand what to expect, as well as how to stay safe while training. The gym is immaculate and interesting. Most of the gyms I have visited are industrial, dark, kinda dirty, and lack character, but Impact is the exact opposite. It's a synthesis of a cozy mountain lodge, clubhouse, art museum, and Jiu-Jitsu gym. There is a real stuffed bear next to a fireplace. There is a real bison mount and elk mount on the main wall, each flanking a large illuminated Jiu-Jitsu banner, making it clear what this place is all about. The walls are also adorned with lots of fight posters that the members of Impact have competed in; there are also numerous competition medals hanging near the entrance, including an IBJJF World Championship Gold Medal—clearly, they take competition seriously. The mats are pristine and clean white, and they have a foot washing station to help maintain a clean and, more importantly, a healthy environment to train. I've never seen a foot washing station at any other gym, kudos to Impact for this, no one likes training partners who have smelly feet... The members were very welcoming, smiles all around, and they were keen to ensure I felt at home. The instructor that evening was a black belt who was super knowledgeable, attentive to individual questions, and very entertaining. I appreciated how they slowed down to demonstrate important details that could be easily missed. The instructor would teach and then work with us as we drilled with our partners. After the instructional portion, we went into a faster-paced exercise where we implemented what we had just learned, which was a good way to pressure test our understanding. For the final portion of the class, we were encouraged to "roll" with our partners in a free-form manner and try to implement what we had just learned. All in all, I had a lot of fun and learned some very practical techniques and got to experience the coolest gym environment I have ever seen. If you find yourself in Arizona, swing by Fountain Hills and check out Impact Jiu-Jitsu. I give them my full endorsement!
I've used this place for my jujitsu training and I gotta say it's absolutely incredible! The amount I've learned so quickly is so cool! If you listen and put in the work you'll learn a lot. Very fair price for all the knowledge you can gain and then go and implement it consistently. - Lucas Splittorff
Coach Mike came to our gym in Dusseldorf and taught us heel hooks. He's a really good teacher.
Awesome place to train! Beginners to advanced I highly recommend. Great knowledge and great community of people, they will make you feel right at home and prepare you for real jiujitsu.
The best, and somehow also the scariest people I've ever met. Only go if you want to learn great techniques and join a true family.
Absolutely LOVE this place. I'm so happy they're able to reopen and fill classes back up after this horrendous year! Best of all the kids are excited to be back full force, instead of being cooped up in the house all day!
Great school! I was visiting the area for the week and they welcomed me in right away. Highly recommended. Great atmosphere and energy!
Coach Mike is outstanding and I highly recommend Impact Jiu Jitsu.
Michael Currier is pretty ok. His coaching is honestly second to none. Coach Mike helps you believe that you can achieve goals you didn't even realize you had. My kids have all improved tenfold in their tumbling and jiu jitsu skills. I never considered BJJ for myself until I saw how much my boys love it at Impact. Our whole family now attends multiple classes per week. Coach Mike, Coach Samantha, and Coach Ryan are excellent at teaching complete newbies BJJ without making you feel foolish, while also keeping classes challenging for upper belts. Yogi Joan's yoga class is the perfect addition to help stretch out after BJJ or adult PE.
I couldn't recommend Mike and crew enough. Mike brings a unique perspective to Jiu Jitsu that blends movement with theory in addition to technique giving you the ability to learn jiu jitsu rapidly. He's not only a great teacher, but a great person who genuinely cares about his students and their success. You should definitely check it out!
Coach Michael at Impact Jiu Jitsu Fountain Hills is amazing. His attention to detail when showing techniques really makes it easy to follow along and grow quickly. Great group of training partners as well. The kids programs are awesome. Definitely give it a try!
Mike Currier's positive energy, expertise, and creativity are phenomenal. His skills in both martial arts and teaching are among the most elite anywhere. If you are even passing through Fountain Hills, make sure that you stop in at Impact to learn from him.
Coming in for the first time I was nervous as a white belt but everything was super slow and dynamic. Every move was broken down and explained. I felt like part of a team insetead of a punching bag. if you want to get serious you need to come here. so sick of compatition. very happy with growth. Ryan and Mike are very involved in your success.
The vibe is great and I feel very welcome. Perfect for all ages.
Mike is the best all around. Really good people person, passionate jiu jitsu nerd, and has a unique gymnastic/wrestling background. He's always contributing to the community. You can't go wrong by training at his gym.
I highly recommend Michael as a coach and person. Not only is he a great Jiu Jitsu instructor but he is knowledgeable in all types of athletics and body movement. He is passionate, kind and patient. He is great at teaching kids and adults of all ages. This gym is the place to be.
Mike is one of the most stand up dudes ive ever met. His jits is amazing and his energy is unbelievable , highly recommend this gym and the staff. Big love for the fam.
Michael Currier is a world class BJJ Competitor and Coach. Has fought in Cheal Sonnen's SUG, and is a super chill dude. A Mentor as a coach and a good role model for any growing human.
Mike is very passionate about jiujitsu and it shows in his practice/teaching of the art. The Impact Jiu Jitsu network of schools emphasize a family environment and technical jiu jitsu. Whether your goal is competition, self defense or fitness, I can not recommend Mike's school enough.
I can't say enough about Mike and his crew. His gyms are clean, friendly, and well run! They are able to teach everyone from just beginning small children to highly competitive adults with ease. Devastatingly effective jiu jitsu with a smile.
Mike is a great technical coach and teaches little man Jiu Jitsu. Nice clean facility as well.
