Wicked cool gym! The set up was super neat and the mats were definitely nice. I loved how everyone was vibing and how professional the black belts and instructors were. I love how they have sign in stations. I thought the black belt for no gi in particular was super funny and impressive. Also! They have super good deals on plans and drop ins which has me feeling like I’m gonna come back soon. 5 stars seriously
Greatest Jiu Jitsu Gym in Oregon! Best group of people and teachers you could ever have to train with!
Great people, great instructors. All levels welcome. Safe and clean.
Went to a few gyms and it was the best fit for me. Very family oriented with a lot of skilled competitors.
You could not ask for better instructors! Facility is extremely clean. Staff are dedicated and encouraging. Overall an amazing place to train.
Love coming here. So does my daughter. Excellent teachers and classes.
My 4yr old daughter started about 2 months ago and she absolutely loves it. All the instructors/coaches are great and have a lot of patience with the little ones. While still being serious they make learning fun. You are able to take your child to class as much as you are willing/able to. Currently my daughter goes to class every Monday and every other Tuesday due to my schedule but hopefully soon I can take her more than just a day or two a week. I took jiu-jitsu for 12yrs and it was very structured where I had to learn one move and be able to do it like it was second nature before moving on to the next. Here, although it's not that way I've noticed the instructors do go over what was already learned and add to it. I think it's still much for a 4yr old to remember but my daughter seems to hone in a lot. Overall I am happy with Impact Jiu-jitsu and most of all my daughter is happy as well. Great gym!

Great classes, staff are friendly and place is above average about cleaning, and many classes for kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing,no-go,etc
Super Clean. Top Notch Jiu Jitsu Instructors.
The best jiu jitsu gym in Oregon
Great People & Great Training. If you’re looking for Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, MMA, or Conditioning look no further. Impact is an awesome community!
This is a good gym and very welcoming/beginner-friendly. I’d recommend it to anyone in the area who wants to train.
This is the place you want to train at. People take jiujitsu seriously here but still have tons of fun. Super clean place to train, with friendly staff. Deep knowledge of jiu-jitsu and mma at this gym. You know this is the place to be when your instructors never stop training.
World class coaching and training for all shapes, sizes, ages, and peoples.
This is a great jiujitsu and mma gym. Everyone is quite friendly, with a very large amount of skill here to learn from. Whether you're a complete beginner looking for a place to begin your journey or an experienced veteran who wants to expand one's knowledge, this is the place for you.
Does anyone who does not speak English accept?
Great place for Jiujitsu, MMA, and fitness
For quarantiners, I highly recommend JIU JITSU FITNESS as a starting point for getting back into it. K.C's class focuses on cardio, Cory's on drilling, and Dusty does deep stretching (really great for soreness). You get a taped boundary to yourself and all wear masks when you are not isolated in your square. Although, I do recommend coming dressed in your gear so you can avoid the locker rooms (a much smaller space).
Impact has been a tremendous positive force in my family’s lifestyle. My children are not only building athletic ability and advancing their physical skill sets, they are also developing character strength and accountability. The coaches keep my kids engaged, treat them with respect and make training fun. The adult classes build my confidence, make me sweat and are coached well, making a beginner like myself able to keep up. The atmosphere is very welcoming and feels like a true community.
Posted 6 years agoThis place is awesome! The coaches are all knowledgeable and experienced martial artists. The class sizes aren't too big, so you get a good amount of personal attention from the instructor. I've also made a lot of great friends not only with my classmates but with the coaches as well. 100% would recommend to anyone who is looking to train martial arts or combat sports. Oss!
Posted 6 years agoThis is a great gym. Not only are the instructors all great, but the members are all there to learn and everyone helps one another learn the techniques being taught. This gym isn't just a gym, it becomes family. Great adult programs, but the kids classes are awesome and so fun to watch. Cant say enough good about this place!

The best BJJ academy in the Portland metropolitan area.
I'm new to BJJ. Impact JJ was my first drop-in. I called ahead and spoke with Bliss. Phone calls are the initial outreach and Bliss was friendly and helpful (that's what I want to hear on the phone, so, well done). I was greeted by friendly folks when I walked in the door one of whom was Bliss. Drop-in fees $ exchanged and waiver signed, Bliss gave me tour relevant tour of the facility (locker room and where my beginner class would be held). ---now I have to talk about hygiene awareness--- This Gym doesn't allow street shoes beyond a certain point and NO BARE FEET IN BATHROOMS or showers (slippers/flip-flops provided). BRAVO!! The level of instruction during warm-ups was great, my gym doesn't typically do warm-ups so it was fun and interesting to be learning so much so soon. All warm-ups were based on developing BJJ muscles or flexibility. Instruction was great! Coach Dustin(?) took a lot of time to help me (and others) learn the techniques. the students that I worked with were friendly and knowledgeable. I felt safe at all times, and I learned a great deal from my time on the mats with this gym. I have to mention at this point that EVERYONE(!!!!!!!!) that I worked with or interacted with (desk or mats) was gracious and friendly. I enjoyed my drop-in experience so much that I bought their school t-shirt and I'm proud to represent their school because my experience was that good. (N=1) <- (Stat. Nerd delight) :)
We've been taking our son here beginning in the fall of 2018. The owner and all the coaches are experienced and competitive in Jiu Jitsu and some boxing and kickboxing as well. They're really great with the kids, there's a great instructor to student ratio with a surprising amount of coaches at times. The other families here have been great as well with the kids encouraging each other and genuinely enjoying their time. Highly recommend.

The coaches here are fantastic, the members are great training partners, highly skilled and willing to help you improve your game. The coaches foster a fun, collaborative environment where everyone works hard to help each other get better. It's rare to find a place to roll with so much talent but so few egos.
My 5 year old has been going here and he absolutely LOVES IT. . the instructions he gets from Eric Loar and Dip Thapa is great! They are patient and treat the kids great and keep it fun for them while they learn. I'll definitely be keeping my son here and having his little brother join him when he is old enough.
Really good for all ages. They have classes for kids, teenagers and adults. The reason I chose this place is because of their great classes for adults. They have beginner classes and more experienced classes. I enjoy it because the staff is great and the people that go here are really welcoming and freindly.
Its hard to find a gym with this caliber of instruction and camaraderie. Its just a great culture and environment over here and that seems to be the hard part to duplicate. A lot of expertise in jiu-jitsu and mixed martial arts under these roofs.
I love this place! It has me coming in five days a week! 😊
Impact was my home gym for nearly 5 years, and it was not until I had to move that it became clear how outstanding the gym really is. Tracy and Michael Chapman have created a deep and diverse family of mixed martial artists and jiu jitsu players. The morning classes with Rodney were a comfortable and casual atmosphere for learning. Noon classes and Saturdays with Armand were technical mastery. Kickboxing with Nuro and Shawn provided a solid foundation in striking. I highly recommend the Impact gyms to beginners and the proficient alike.
Many great instructors, great environment. Can't get enough of this place.
Great group of Martial Artists. Came from So. Cal from a different dojo and was very impressed with the level of talent here. My whole family is signed up now. The couches are great with kids too.
I had the pleasure of training at Impact off and on for a couple of years around 2009-2011. Michael Chapman is an incredibly genuine and good instructor and has years of experience in numerous martial arts. The other instructors are also all top notch as well. Most importantly, the vibe at Impact is both competitive but incredibly nice. Everyone there is always open for conversation and always seemed to have a smile on their face. It was a great place to train, and I can't wait to stop back in one day.
I had the pleasure of stopping into Impact on my way down to LA with the wife. Everyone at the club was friendly and welcoming. On top of that the technical prowess, and open atmosphere makes for great training. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a great place to train BJJ check this place out.
The coaching is very in-depth and practical. With a handful of black belts, Impact has a very, very high concentration of grappling knowledge. The atmosphere is my favorite, though. Very friendly and open to everyone. You don't have to be a superstar to spend time at the gym. The people are laid back and a lot of fun to be around. I've been training with Impact for a year and a half now, and I love it!
Why aren't there any recent reviews? Kind of fishy...
So I went to Impact Jiu Jitsu on 7/6/2012 at 6pm to attend the boxing class. The Gym is ok as far as gyms go. The instructor is this young 25ish guy who starts the class in his pajama bottoms and a t shirt? We have a few instructions about bag work and various drills and we are off. The class progresses in a pretty smooth way to music mostly inappropriate to work out to (slow beat and such) and half way through class we start sparring. This big guy walks back to where the class is being conducted and says nothing but just sits in the back of the room and watches like some kind of lurker or something. The sparring is the worst I've ever experienced besides perhaps you and a few buddies putting on gloves and going at it, which coincidentally, this basically was. The instructor "sparred" a couple of rounds and when I say "sparred" I mean he fought with his hands down basically showing off his superior skill in a macho guy kinda way. When I was up he toyed with me like the other four guys of less skill and experience and ended me the way 2 others had ended their sessions with a leaking nose. If I learned one this it's I need more training from a Real instructor who cares about his students and not his foolish pride.
