If you are looking for a great School with top level training this is it. Prior to finding Hoosier Academy I trained for 16 years. After trying several of the schools in the area I found Hoosier Academy of Self Defense and couldn’t be happier. I’ve now been training Hoosier Academy for about six months. Hoosier Academy offers a welcoming and friendly training environment from day one for adults and kids. Professor Kosur has decades of training experience and It shows at each of the classes. His attention to small details that can build your Jiu Jitsu game are impressive. Definitely top tier instruction. After several rolls with other students you can tell promotion are earned.

I visited from out of town and had an excellent experience. Communication was fast and welcoming. The class was great- very clear instruction with obviously high level teacher. Rolls were fun and people trained hard but with no egos. I got a great workout, learned some good techniques and had fun. I’d recommend Hoosier Academy to anyone in the area.

My 2 boys and I have been doing BJJ training with Professor Mike for a little over a year and we couldn't be happier. My boys actually fight less at home now!! The kids class is great and the people Professor puts in place to help are top notch. The adult class pushes me in a good way. Good atmosphere.

The best place to do Jiu Jitsu in Northwest Indiana, without a doubt. Professor Mike is as good as it gets and everybody, kids and adults, are very nice and tough at the same time, a rare combination, but perfect for fighting training.

Hoosier Academy of Self Defense has been a great experience. I had zero background in any self defense, BJJ, or similar background, prior to joining. The entire process has been top notch. At no point have I felt out of place. I would highly recommend Hoosier Academy of Self Defense to any experience level. Professor Mike is a great teacher, and very thorough with every class. Highly recommend HA Self Defense!!

I highly recommend the Hoosier Academy of Self Defense. Professor Mike is very knowledgeable and kind. He accepted me as a new student with no prior martial arts experience. I felt intimidated being a woman who is new to this sport - starting off as a white belt with adult classes that are all levels in one. Each blue, purple, brown, and black belt has been so patient and helpful with me as I learn. I feel safe here and am growing in my strength and confidence.
