  A great community you get to roll with! It has been motivating, challenging and so rewarding training here. Every technique taught by Kayle and Jason is very well articulated. I have enjoyed every class since my first day on the mats and as a small female, I’m grateful for the amazing training partners I have here. Aside from instruction, my family and I have met some of our favorite people at HNL, many who have become more like family. I’m also happy to see my boys growing up on the mats with this awesome community.

  HNL Jiu Jitsu is an excellent place to train, for both adults and children! It's located in the Aina Haina Shopping Center, in between the vet clinic and Massage Envy. The co-owners, Kayle and Jason, are both very knowledgeable about BJJ, for both gi-and no gi, and many of the other black belts and lower belts that help instruct are also well versed and happy to share what they know. The class schedule is pretty good, with adult classes available every evening at 6:15 (gi or no gi, depending on the day), as well as Tuesday & Thursday morning gi classes at 0800. There's an open mat on Saturdays at 0930, and sometimes they open early at 0900...good to get a few more rolls in! There is a diverse group of people that train at HNL, and the vibe is always chill, relaxed, friendly, and welcoming to all, from newcomers, to people looking for a new BJJ home, to people that are just visiting. From time to time they also offer seminars that can really help you sharpen your game; I have seen Magid Hage, Levi Jones-Leary, Pete "the Greek" Lestos, and even the Grandmaster himself, Relson Gracie! You won't be disappointed, so go ahead and check them out...Thank you HNL Jiu Jitsu!

  Great classes, my sons (7 and 9) say HNL Jiu Jitsu is fun and good exercise. I agree, it has also been fun for an old guy like me getting back on the mats.

  Very welcoming environment and a very clean space. Professors Kayle, Jason and Cameron are very knowledgeable and amazing teachers. They break down techniques so everyone from beginners to advance players can utilize them. HNL teaches the basic, old school fundamentals but also incorporates the new, ever evolving techniques in their classes. 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking to join a jiu jitsu gym whether you’re a newcomer, young or old, casual jiu jitsu practitioner or a seasoned competitor.

  HNL Jiu Jitsu Academy is by far the closest you can get to hard training with a very down to earth vibe. Everybody is willing to lend a hand and help out on any instructional or techniques. HNL BJJ is very family oriented and welcoming to all levels of Jiu Jitsu, from men/women and to serious competitors. HNL BJJ is a Relson Gracie affiliated academy, and with the head instructor (3rd degreee black belt Kayle Quinn) you can train from sport Jiu Jitsu to Gracie self defense. I highly recommend people signing up or visiting HNL Jiu Jitsu Academy.

  We have been a part of the HNL Jiu Jitsu Academy Ohana since they were located on Waialae. My daughter is now 8 years old and loves this sport which has taught her a lot about discipline, hard work, sportsmanship and fitness. The Head Coach Kayle is super patient with the little ones. He teaches them techniques in a way that is simple, fun and effective. We are a busy family and love that there are classes to choose from 6 days a week!
