A great environment to learn the dark art, great coaching and people. Mikey has taken Hellfish to new levels and has flourished since securing their own space. A testament to the Scottish BJJ community.

Great BJJ/grappling coaching from a dedicated black belt instructor whose enthusiasm and good humour complements an experienced and accomplished mind for combat sports training. Mike also has a lot of great and equally passionate people around him, and the Hellfish training space is an unpretentious, welcoming environment for veterans and newcomers alike. Highly recommend to anyone interested.

Hellfish BJJ Cumbernauld is a friendly, welcoming gym with top-level coaching. Mike has a great way of breaking down technique so it actually sticks—detailed, clear, and easy to understand no matter your level. His coaching approach is also quite tongue and cheek which keeps everything light hearted The team are supportive, the vibe’s solid, and the training is a great mix of drilling/coaching and rolling. Highly recommend.

Absolutely love training at hellfish! Coach Michael aka [mikey] is a phenomenal instructor with an incredible eye for detail. Every class is a perfect balance of learning, drilling, and rolling—always structured but never dull. He has a gift for breaking down techniques in a way that makes them easy to understand and apply, no matter your skill level. What really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. Sparring is competitive but always respectful and fun. You walk out of every session not just sweating and smiling, but with something new added to your game. There’s a real sense of progress here, and it’s impossible not to feel accomplished after each class. Highly recommend for anyone looking to train in a positive, high-level environment!
