I've been training at Hebron BJJ for three years, the two things that stand out above all are the high quality instruction and training partners. The classes are structured in a way that will teach everyone new things, whether you're a complete beginner like I was when I started with no martial arts background, or more experienced with years of training. No matter the level, it's clear that everyone around you is learning and improving together. The people training here come from all backgrounds, and the atmosphere is very respectful and supportive. Even though Jiu Jitsu is a physical martial art, in 3 years I’ve never had any problems with my training partners which is a testament to the culture the academy creates. I’ve met many great people and had great experiences from training here and I would highly recommended this academy.
Posted 1 year agoThe atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. I came in knowing nothing and everyone was very patient and helpful. I thought when I started that I would feel uncomfortable training with larger guys but that was never the case and now my whole family trains here. It has been life changing for us all and the community that they have built is one of their biggest strengths. There is amazing instruction and they offer something for everyone whether you are looking for self defense skills, physical fitness, discipline and focus, confidence building or just personal development. I would recommend joining to anyone, especially kids. I feel safer in my daily life for learning the skills that I have attained here.
Bushido BJJ is second to none - with high quality facilities and a variety of classes and times to choose from, you will find what you are looking for here. The owner and instructors are excellent and have helped me grow on and outside of the mat. The culture here is also very positive which is very important to me. Absolutely recommend!
I’ve been training Jiujitsu for over a decade, Hebron bjj is an awesome facility, very clean, spacious and welcoming for both seasoned and new practitioners alike. I look forward to my next visit
What a fantastic Brazilian Jiujitsu academy. I have traveled to a lot of academies and this is definitely in my top 3 favorites. The instructors know their stuff, are extremely helpful and are very personable and easy to talk with, and they offer classes to people of all ages. The mats are top notch and the entire place is clean and comfortable. I highly encourage anyone looking for jiujitsu to give this place a try.
Hebron BJJ is an outstanding academy that truly stands out in the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. My experience with their kids’ program has been nothing short of phenomenal. The dedication and passion the instructors have for teaching are evident in every class. They bring a unique blend of expertise and enthusiasm that makes learning Jiu-Jitsu both enjoyable and effective for kids. What I find most impressive is how each instructor pays meticulous attention to every student. They not only focus on technical skills but also emphasize character development and discipline. It’s clear that their goal is to build not just skilled practitioners but well-rounded individuals. My children have grown tremendously in confidence and ability, thanks to the supportive and encouraging environment created by the team at Hebron BJJ. The quality of coaching at Hebron BJJ is exceptional. Each instructor brings their own wealth of knowledge and experience to the mat. This diversity in coaching ensures that students are exposed to a wide range of techniques and strategies. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced practitioner, you’ll find the guidance and mentorship you need to improve your skills. The variety of training partners available is another highlight. With students ranging from white belts to seasoned black belts, everyone has the opportunity to roll with partners of different skill levels. This variety enriches the training experience and helps students adapt to various styles and techniques, which is crucial for their growth in the sport. Hebron BJJ is more than just an academy; it’s a vibrant community where every member is valued and supported. If you’re looking for a place where your child can learn Jiu-Jitsu in a positive, challenging, and nurturing environment, Hebron BJJ is the perfect choice. Their commitment to excellence in both instruction and student development is truly unparalleled.
Excellent instruction. The class had a clear goal in mind and maximized productive time while still allowing for the specific needs and questions of the individual students.
Great place to train, my 7yo goes here 3x a week. Instructors are fantastic with kids and they work with each kid to make sure they understand and provide a safe environment. Facilities are great, super friendly staff.
Great school! Excellent for both kids and adults. Classes are always fun! The coaches are amazing and knowledgeable. I always leave with new ideas and techniques after every class.
Amazing training facility for all levels and ages. Coaches are fanatic. Our whole family trains here and we love it.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I've been training at Hebron Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for six years and it's been an incredible experience! I started at 50 years old thinking “I’ve got to be crazy starting this at my age.” Six years later and I am still plugging away. The school caters to all ages, making it a perfect place for families and individuals alike. Rob and his instructors are not only highly skilled but also emphasize professionalism and safety, ensuring that every student feels comfortable and supported. One of the best things about this school is the flexibility in training schedules. With numerous classes available in the early and late mornings, evenings, and weekends, it's easy to fit training into even the busiest of schedules. There are schools in both Manchester and Hebron as well. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced practitioner, you'll find a welcoming and encouraging environment here. Highly recommended for anyone looking to learn Jiu Jitsu in a safe and professional setting!
I start my day Monday-Friday from 6-7am at HBJJ. Best way to wake up your body and mind. Honored to be part of the Bushido family.
Extremely welcoming and supportive academy that will fit the needs of whatever someone is looking for. Whether it be getting in shape, self defense, sport BJJ for competing, or someone looking to try something new, Hebron BJJ has much to offer you. Facility is top notch. Hebron BJJ has an amazing training atmosphere with like minded people who want to help each other get better. Instructors truly care about their students, and offer a happy medium of training hard but in a safe manner. Could not recommend more!!
You've found your future BJJ home! Whether you have to learn the basic moves or want to hone advanced skills, Manchester & Hebron BJJ's experienced instructors provide the supportive environment you need to grow. A posted motto shares its values: "Work hard. Be kind. Stay humble." They enable you to be the best you possible.
I'm so glad I tried this amazing place. I've tried out a few different jiu-jitsu academy's and this was by far the most impressive. Everyone I've met had been extremely knowledgeable and humble. They didn't mind answering all of my questions and guided me through every step. Looking forward to training here. Also I was very impressed with how clean everything is, especially the restrooms.
Love this place! I drive an hour to attend classes. The instruction is second to none with the lead instructor/owner delivering the curriculum in an easily digestible manner. As an older guy (50) BJJ has kept me healthy and in shape. Only wish I started 20 years earlier. Highly recommend.
Nice clean facility with some really good rolls and a very welcoming atmosphere.
Knowledgeable, dedicated and encouraging instructors. Several options for training for anyone’s schedule with consistent morning and night classes. Great mix of Gi, No Gi and striking. It’s amazing what you can learn in a year!
Dropped in for a class when I was in town. Great class structure and instruction. Also a very friendly and welcoming group of students.
I've been training with Rob Mago for 8 years now. I've trained at several other academies and am proud to call Manchester and Hebron BJJ my home school. I appreciate the Bushido values evident in every aspect of the academy. Both of my kids have trained there at different times and they benefited as well. Top notch instructors and classes. No matter what my work schedule is there is a class I can attend, 6am, 10 am, 530p and 630 pm. I enjoy all the open mats. I love the fact that we work everything, ground, stand up and striking. We train hard, we train light and we train smart. I could not imagine calling anywhere else my home school. Highly recommended.
Great place to train! Welcoming atmosphere with professional and knowledgeable coaches providing instruction for people of all ages. My 11 yr old son trains at the academy and has benefited greatly from the program. He has become extremely passionate not only about jiu-jitsu but also physical fitness and has gained self confidence since starting the program. He can’t wait to go to class every week! Coaches Matt and Jay are excellent instructors for the kids’ class! Would definitely recommend this academy for anyone-child and adults. Five stars all around!
Since I have been training at both Hebron and Manchester locations, I have found that they are both run professionally and worth the investment. They both have a great atmosphere for developing and keeping skills, exercising the body, in a safe and enriching environment. With the help of all the very skilled instructors, someone with little to no experience to even a trained individual can learn something from the variety of classes give. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who has interest and of any age group.
I was hesitant when my son first wanted to be trained in jujitsu. I was worried this was going to be another activity that he would attempt and then give up! I could not have been more wrong! My son looks forward to every training session and pours his heart and soul out when he is in the Dojo! He loves the coaches and is pushing himself to be better every week. We just had parent teacher conferences and the school teachers also commented that they think he is maturing and has been more focused. I have to attribute some of this growth to this awesome organization!!!!
After researching several other Martial Arts schools in the area we decided to enroll our son in the childrens class at Manchester Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. Our son loves the class. Coach Matt is fantastic with the children. He makes the class enjoyable and as a result our son is learning more then he realizes. The classes generally run about a half an hour which is perfect for a five year old with a limited attention span.
Hebron BJJ is outstanding! I've been training there for 2 years. Rob, Jay, and Matt really care about their students and provide world class instruction. They make me feel like I am part of their family every time I walk in the door. Highly recommend!
This place is great! My son and I have attended many classes and open mats there. The facility is clean. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Plus they are constantly making improvements. I highly recommend it.
Robs one of the best teachers out there! Knowledge, experience, and warrior ethos! Ive know Rob for 15 years and have trained with him since day one!! Rob runs top flight academies with a knowledge base rivalled by few if any. Im proud to be one of his Black Belt's. But even prouder to call him a friend!! He's become family! There's little I wouldn't do for him. Jay and I tested for Black Belt together and have also been friends for over 10 years. Jay is an awesome instructor with a true passion for jiu-jitsu, just like Rob When you train here, you become more than just friends. You honestly become part of the family.
Plenty of mat space, excellent instructors and a fantastic group of people training here. There are more than 5 Academies closer to where I live, yet Bushido is and always will be home for me. You will never find a better group of people than those who train BJJ, especially here.
Great place to train and learn! Everyone is very nice and the place is super clean
Incredible school with great instructors. And it’s a great workout!!
Amazing school with amazing teachers. Very clean and organized. Great hours both morning and night classes! Great place to train!
Very disappointing for the the sport of jiu jitsu. I discussed signing my kids up at the sister school in Manchester. I was told by coach Matt they would be able to train at both schools, Manchester and Hebron, which allowed for 4 classes a week. Less than a month into training they reneged on everything I was told. It was a bait and switch. They decided that they are no longer accommodating younger children at the Hebron school so I was expected to pay the same, but now instruction is only available two thirty minute classes a day. Their reasoning is that it is a 'newer gym' and are therefore unable to accommodate my kids...but I signed my kids up for their kid's program. My disappointment in them backing out completely on what I was told is now a me problem, according to their egos. In a sport that values humbleness and kindness I find their execution of such principles through coach Matt to be lacking at best. My son, 5 years old, was a little sassy in class as all 5 year olds can be. I had him apologize for his behavior after class and coach Matt told my son, 'Your sorry is not going to cut it'. I am deeply unimpressed to hear that from any adult to a child, let alone a role model in the martial arts who preaches respect. I found Professor Jay to be amazing. However I was told 'it's Matt's program'. My takeaway was Processor Jay's instruction as well as Professor Rich at Manchester (adult coach) are invaluable, but coach Matt's ego and business ethics are unfortunate.
