Hands down, the #1 Jiu jitsu School in the area. GTHQ is an excellent place for adults & children alike to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The coaches are all extremely knowledgable & this is the best place to catch Rob Kahn's classes consistently. I have nothing but good things to say about the gym atmosphere, quality of instruction, and variety of educational methods. The mat gets cleaned every morning/night, everyone always has an excellent attitude, & you will learn something new every class! This gym is extremely welcoming to beginners; from my first day here, it has felt like everyone wants me to get better & I want everyone to get better too! Check out GTHQ when you have a chance & see if combat sports are something that would add value to your life; this gym has been nothing but a positive impact in my life as well as my peers!

We moved from LA and had to get reconnected to a good Gracie place. After trying a few, we knew HQ had the humble leadership that makes champions from the inside out. The kid’s program is incredible. The adult program leaves you without an excuse to train w everything from kickboxing, wrestling, juijitsu to yoga-every single day and night! But, the coaches are what make it and the really good people who show up everyday to roll. My young kids love it, my older kids love it, I love it. This isn’t even to gain a single stripe. Someday, I’ll submit the Badger for that.

I just started training at Gracie Tampa HQ a few months ago, but I’ve become absolutely hooked. The instructors are fantastic; knowledgeable, clear, and supportive. I love the variety of classes they offer, and training Jiu Jitsu and striking has become something I look forward to every week. easy 5/5 stars for me very at home environment, multiple knowledgeable blackbelts. These guys offer everything Gi, no Gi, Striking, kids classes, wrestling, and competition teams. this all goes down 7 days a week if you haven't checked out this gym you need to.

I initially found this place when I first moved to Tampa, being a student still at USF I wanted to start training BJJ. Rob Kahn was nothing short of welcoming from the time I initially walked in the door and I've met some of the most incredible people and friends since I first walked in. While I live down in St. Pete now I am incredibly grateful and happy that I started my BJJ journey with Rob and I still get to continue it within his network of schools.

I left a negative review earlier, but I talked to Ryan and that was entirely my fault. I did not see they had actually refunded me, and had cancelled my card even though I gave late notice. So, thank you Ryan for handling everything professionally. Gracie Tampa HQ is a great place to train. The instructors are friendly, and helpful. Everyone I trained with went out of their way to help me get better, and feel welcome. I enjoyed my 3 time there, and am thankful for everyone that helped me out. Again, I apologize for the mistake. A really great gym. I have trained here for about six months and have been continually impressed with the quality of instruction in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and striking. They have a large number of coaches from varying training backgrounds and the owner and head instructor is Royce Gracie’s first black belt. The training environment is very relaxed and comfortable for new students. The instructors and other students are friendly and really make you feel welcome. Additionally they offer discounts for military and first responders. Another great thing is the owner Rob is involved in dog rescuing and often his personal dog or foster dogs are around. A really great environment to train in.

I joined Gracie Tampa in August of 2015. Previous to joining, I had practiced Jiujitsu at other schools; however, It was Rob Kahn's approach to teaching that made me fall in love with jiujitsu. What was once a once (maybe twice) a week hobby, is now a 7 days a week routine. My entire life has changed ever since I joined Gracie Tampa HQ !! The friendships and bonds you create are absolutely wonderful and I can’t imagine where I’d be now if it wasn’t for Gracie!!! I love all the instructors and their ability to break down the techniques so simply. They take their time with you and you never feel like you are overlooked. Also, there is so much availability for people with a busy schedule. They have everything from basic jiu Jitsu to judo, boxing, and wrestling. My son is 6 and just had his second anniversary at Gracie Tampa. Coach Cris is as much a teacher as she is a coach. My son has learned to focus and direct his energy and enthusiasm. My 13 year old daughter just finished her second month of jiu jitsu training. I can already see a difference in her demeanor. Her effort at school has improved and she truly loves training. She already expresses an interest in competing and can't wait to receive her first stripe. At Gracie Tampa, individual achievement and a team spirit go hand in hand. !!!DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GIVE THESE FOLKS ANY TYPE OF PAYMENT. JOSH IS A THIEF!!! It is not a terrible place to train. The reason I give this place a 1 star (if I could I would rate this place a ZERO star) is because the partial owner of this BJJ training facility (Josh) stole money from me. No he didn't mug me or anything (some levity in an extremely infuriating matter). Here are the circumstances that said individual took advantage of and stole over 400 DOLLARS from me. I have a job in which a travel occasionally in. I decided to try the free trial, I enjoyed it. Paying 147 for the first couple of months sounded like a great plan. "Good deal!" I thought. I knew I wasn't going to be attending as often as I wish I could so I knew the risks. However, the first month I was able to attend quite often due to my job's goals and responsibilities at the moment. I stayed local for the majority of that month. Unfortunately, the following month was different. We got a new contract and was working out of town Monday through Friday for the first 2 weeks (i still continued going as many saturdays as i could go) and I decided that I would cancel my account and I would pick back up after the project finished. I called 10 times and left 3 voicemail messages and finally, on the 11th call, somebody picked up. I canceled my account and so that was the end... ... ... ... YEAH RIGHT! come to find out they chose to "freeze my account" and then continue to take money from me on a monthly basis. I left another 5 voicemails to no prevail despite leaving multiple vm to Josh specifically. I finally got a call back and I was unfortunately away from my phone at that time. The ridiculous amounts of calls I had to make and could never speak to anybody on the matter was slightly discomforting, to say the least. I chose to call my bank and try to refund me my money. Josh continued to take money from my account despite me leaving multiple requests via vm to cancel my account. I called the bank the following month after he attempted again to steal from me. Now I had put a stop payment on my account for this establishment. I'm super upset that somebody would blatantly steal from me knowing that it was wrong. My biggest frustration is that the partial owner would not contact me or even try to talk to me over the phone. He chose to take the shadyist approach to this whole dilemma. Please be advised that this is a VERY REAL possible situation you could find yourself in, if you give these folks ANY KIND of payment information.

Do not send your child here for summer camp or any type of program if he has a disability or autistic. Even if they are low on the spectrum and high functioning with experience of being in summer camps and attending GED, this camp is not suited for them. They are not educators, extremely disrespectful and will throw your kid out the program in a heart beat instead of solving the issue as a educator. Every child deserves to be treated equally and they do not do that here. They discriminate against children with disabilities. I would only recommend this place for adults, not children.
