We have never done anything like marital arts before. So having a free 10 day trial was so amazing! Mr. James really helped us understand how the the schedule worked and guided us as parents! Hj enjoys going and is really hanging on to the life lessons James talks about as part of their class! I can't tell you how many times I have told Hj the same thing but coming from Mr. James means more.. lol! I feel like this experience is helping my hubby and daughter bond and it is giving Hj more confidence! Thank you James for caring about these kids and teaching them valuable life lessons! Appreciate this studio and you!

James is great, he is very knowledgeable and breaks up the techniques to be practiced in a step by step process. This is a safe place and he really focus on getting the techniques correct for self-defense. A major perk by joining his gym you get access to Gracie Univeristy Online which allows you to study the material even when you cannot make a class. Great for all ages and experience and judgement free.

The best experience for young children and adults. James is an amazing teacher that teaches how and when to use Jiu-Jitsu. He makes every class enjoyable and also has a life lesson to learn. I would highly recommend Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Reynoldsburg to anyone.

Great experience for kids. He teaches kids marital arts, but more importantly he teaches discipline, confidence, respect, listening skills, and patience. For over 22 years I was a manager at Nationwide Children's Hosp., and saw what effective teaching and parenting can do for a child. For two hours a week, this man becomes a surrogate dad for these kids. BTW....he's highly skilled in jui jitsu too.

If you’re looking for a safe, structured, fun environment to learn Jiu Jitsu I highly recommend the Combatives program as a starting point. James is thorough, patient, helpful and very knowledgeable as a devoted practitioner and instructor. My only regret is not joining sooner.

I first experienced Gracie Ju-Jitsu during my GST training two years ago in Pittsburgh. I was impressed with the curriculum and the teaching style. I really enjoy my BJJ gym up here in Canton, but unfortunately there was no Bully Proof summer camp available near me for my eight-year-old. My family and I decided to come down to Columbus to the closest Gracie school. James the instructor was extremely welcoming and made my son feel right at home. He thoroughly enjoyed the week of training. I also attended an adult class during my week and enjoyed it as well. The school takes time to teach the fundamentals. If you’re looking for a school to learn BJJ (at any age) in a safe environment I recommend checking this place.

This school is helpful in adapting and inclusive to everyone , I have a disability and feel like they help me work through adapting certain techniques and to tailor them for me and my limitations making me more dangerous because it’s then harder to anticipate what I’ll do or how I’ll try to escape a situation

Great school with a great culture centered around community, learning, collaboration, safety, and humility. Every class includes instructions on how to be safe, encouragement to help each other, and plenty of opportunity to have questions answered. The other students are as terrific and supportive as the instructors. As a first-timer in his 50's, I wasn't sure what to expect, but it has been a very rewarding experience.

Both my kids been been attending class for about 3 to 4 weeks. Almost everyday my kids keep asking me do we have class. The classes are so fun and enjoyable my children can't get enough of it. As a bonus my kids are learning self defense techniques to defend themselves.

This is a great place to practice Jiu-jitsu whether you're a beginner or seasoned. The kids classes are great. They are set up for the kids to have fun while learning the skills to advance to new levels. The instructor is really good with kids as well and his students love him. The adult classes are also great. The instructor walks through each part of the techniques and will make sure you are doing them correctly. It is a lot of fun and I highly recommend Graci Jiu-jitsu of Reynoldsburg.

We put my daughter in the class in hopes that she would stop allowing everyone to push her around and bully her and it was a huge success she went from a mouse to a lion and watching her grow has been amazing. The way the classes are run for the kids they have so much fun they don't even realize they are learning, as an adult in classes I can say they are just as amazing fun and needed I've learned so much in the short period I've been here. Highly recommend for kids and adults

This is the absolute best beginners program you could be taking, along with the instruction and the curriculum Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Reynoldsburg is the best option to learn or practice Jiu-Jitsu. I enrolled in the Women Empowered Class after attending one of the free workshops offered at the beginning of April. I have had a few experiences with martial arts and was immediately impressed by the technical knowledge, exceptional teaching skills, and clear communication displayed by Donna, the Women's Empowered Instructor, and James, the owner. The atmosphere is fun and friendly while staying committed to the integrity of each technique and the success of every student. I don't doubt that these individuals have found their life's purpose and are following their hearts in teaching others ways to defend themselves in this sometimes crazy world. I would recommend this business to anyone serious about learning Gracie Jui-Jitsu.

My child goes to Gracie juijitsu and she loves it. I also have noticed positive changes in her behavior and social skills. The instructors are amazing with the kids. I highly recommend sending your children to the Gracie bulletproof program. Give your child a sense of pride and let them hold their heads up. Those bullies won't mess with them once they learn how to conduct and protect themselves the right way.

Our daughter has tried every organized sport we can think of and never found anything that stuck. We stumbled upon GJJ at our rec center when looking for something new to try. Seriously - best decision we've ever made. Our girl is strong, working on her confidence and HAPPY. Bonus - as the only girl of 5, she's super happy she can take her big brothers to the ground! She LOVES James and we're pretty big fans of his as well. He's super patient, very knowledgeable, dedicated and definitely shows everyone he loves what he does. The rest of the team here is equally as amazing and we plan on being around for a while!

This truly is a combative university where you will learn from a curriculum just like an academic university. A step by step process develop by the Gracie’s 100 yrs, of experience. As an ex-military man, this is the best program I’ve ever seen. You or your children will learn by doing in a safe but realistic environment. You will be exposed to the best techniques developed by the Gracie’s over the past 100 years. In six months I’ve learn almost 30 new techniques but only scratching the surface.

This place is great! James works very hard to create a safe and welcoming environment for anyone to come learn the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I’ve been studying for about nine months, with a very limited background in military survival martial arts prior to starting with James. I’m already testing for my first belt! This is not one of those bro gyms where you have to worry about being a ragdoll for the black belts in the room; everyone is treated with respect and humility and you’re encouraged to learn at your own pace. They’re really developing a strong community here, and I have made some great friends along the way!

Beyond amazing not only is it a small class setting so the kids actually get attention but it honestly feels like a family. Its a small cozy building so you really get to know the other parents and its so focused on the kids learning about new techniques and most importantly why and when to use the new techniques. Thats why i love this class for my kids it lets them actually learn it all not just how to do it. Also they offer more advanced classes i just cant speak for those as of yet.

GJJR is a great place to learn, train, and feel comfortable. Not only is it a simple work out, you learn step by step moves to defend yourself. It’s not about trying to compete against another. The owner James, ensures you know the moves before you ever roll with someone. He is an absolute amazing instructor. His love, patience, and devotion for the sport of Brazilian jujitsu shows in the way he teaches. James is detail oriented, while he educates, instructs, and demonstrates simple self defense. He is sure to perfect movements himself to effectively teach the skill that could save your life. GJJR offers a variety of classes at different times each day to make it easy and convenient to train. There are so many opportunities once you decide to learn the art! Kids can learn bully proof education while parents can learn along side their kids. It’s an amazing way to connect with your children by learning at the same time. As a 44 year old woman I have the confidence to know I can defend myself.

I have known James ( Owner and Instructor ) on and off the mats. I used to work with him for a few years prior to him starting his journey to open Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. He was the one that encouraged me to try Jiu-Jitsu. So I fully recommend giving it a chance if you are so inclined. I feel you will not regret your choice to try the gentle art of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
