I was looking for a Martial Arts School for my boys (8 and 5 years old) so they could learn self-defense. I found this school and was intrigued by the Bullyproof Program and the 10-day free trial that they offer. The instructors are very patient and caring with the kids. I am in my 40's with no marital arts or self-defense experience and after seeing the teaching style and the focus on safety I decided to join the adult beginner's class. It has been awesome learning Jiu Jitsu with my boys. Jimi runs a great school, and the instructors and students are all very kind and welcoming.
My Daughter Jaylah Started October 30th of last year I can see that Professor Lusando truly loves his students you can see his passion for this sport. He takes time to teach all of the kids proper techniques in life lessons making it fun at the same time. I trust him and his staff completely. The instructors here in Mesa are understanding, cordial, and very knowledgeable about the art of Jiu Jitsu. Gracie Jiu Jitsu is hands down the most safe environment for training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The community of the gym encourages active learning with a growth mindset and shuns dangerous ego driven characters that would increase risks for injury for its members. I was a bit shocked at the number of high belts compared to my previous Dojo, but am absolutely hyped to experience the journey to get to that point!
Our kids have been going for a couple of months and I have noticed that they are more confident. They are learning so much and their instructors are amazing. My husband joined as well and it’s been an awesome experience. Losando and Jimi made the whole process of signing up easy. Would highly recommend!

We like going here for training. The teachers and students are welcoming and ready to answer any questions. We love Gracies. Jim and Lusando are the best instructors. They are so helpful. They both provide great male role models for my son. They help coach and teach him how to treat others as well as how to protect and stand up for himself. Lucky to be here.
Our family has been going here for a couple months now and it has been a really positive experience. The teachers are really nice and make it fun and interesting. We have had the opportunity to work with several different students as practice partners and every one of them has been really cool. The Gracie style is not an ego trip. It is about being prepared to defend yourself and stay safe. They even have bully proof classes for kids. We hope to get our niece enrolled in those soon. - Another really cool thing about this school is you can totally try it out for free for 2 weeks. Thats what we did and we liked it and stayed.
I have always been interested in learning a new Martial Art and Ju-Jitsu has caught my interest the most. I also was looking for a place my Son 5yrs old could attend and learn, and when I came across this location. I had tried the free 10 consecutive days for my Son. Need less to say he loves it. So I had signed myself up as well. Both my Sons experience and mine have been great and continue to be each time we go. The instructors and other participants of the art new or experienced are all very inviting and welcoming. I enjoy seeing My Son on the mats and look forward to my classes each time.

Been training with Chris and Jimi for several years now. Always enjoy training here and I always learn a lot. The teaching is in depth and thorough but the instructors are always great to make sure everyone has a chance to learn at their own pace and have their questions answered. The training atmosphere is always friendly and it's just a great group of people to train with. They have a great kids' programs as well. For learning self-defense or just branching out and learning something new, it's a great place to train for everyone!
I am excited this studio opened next to me, although it is just opening, I am excited to watch it grow. Jimi is my favorite instructor and I look forward to taking more classes with him soon.
I was really nervous about joining a place to train jiu jitsu, but as soon as I walked into Gracie, I got a very warm welcome from everyone. I genuinely feel like I'm part of a family that wants to see me exceed on the mat and in life. I'm grateful for the instructors that give it their all and do an incredible job of breaking down movements so that I understand them better.
