  I attended the recent women’s seminar for self defense. The techniques are presented at a good pace to learn and practice multiple times. The instructors are patient and encouraging. They compare the lessons to real-life situations, which is super helpful! I definitely recommend their classes!

  Out of all the Gracie Jiu Jitsu locations I’ve been to, Gracie Jiu Jitsu Indianapolis is my favorite! I waited for a whole year when I moved to Indy from Arizona for a Certified Training Center of the Gracie Jiu Jitsu self defense program to open up in the Indianapolis area, and boy was it worth the wait!! The curriculum is outstanding and Coach James (a jiu jitsu black belt) is an absolute pleasure to learn from due to his knowledge, enthusiasm, patience, and friendliness. All the classes are structured in a way so that ANYONE completely new to jiu-jitsu and wanting to learn the most effective way to defend yourself and your loved ones can just show up and have a great time with some other new and experienced people alike. There’s also a super generous 10 day free trial period that you can take advantage of with no risk to you to see how you like it! Every person I’ve trained with here have been great to work with and really helpful in helping me learn and hone my skills. You 100% won’t regret coming here if you’re at all interested in self defense, martial arts, jiu jitsu, getting healthier, becoming more disciplined, or generally just want to become more competent and confident in yourself! I personally started training jiu-jitsu to become more fit and capable for my athletic endeavors in the motorsports world, as well as to learn how to defend myself in a street fight, but now I also train because I love jiu-jitsu! Trust me, the hardest step is the one through the front door. After that, you’ll be so happy you took that step!

  As a former Green Beret, I can honestly say that James' instruction and the program outline at Gracie Jiu Jitsu Indianapolis is some of the best that I have experienced. The structured format builds upon itself and helps anyone, whether they are a beginner or experienced practicioner, build their skills to effectively defend themselves and take their jiu-jitsu skills to the next level. Everyone is also incredibly friendly and inviting making it a place that I look forward to going to every chance that I get. They also have a substantial trial period where you can test it out and see if it is something for you or not without making any solid commitments. I highly recommend anyone that is even slightly interested in jiu-jitsu to come here and hopefully I'll see you on the mats!
