I have been training at Gracie Elite Wellington for almost 2 years. South Florida has a lot of jiujitsu schools but I can’t think of a school that would be better. Eric, the owner and head instructor is great! His school is much more inviting than I would have ever expected. Everyone that trains at Gracie Elite Wellington is incredibly helpful and kind. The amount of knowledge for jiujitsu that is in those four walls is way more than I could have expected. Amazing place ! Tried my first class there lasted night ( no gi ) and after having trained at many BJJ facilities . They are the total package . While some gyms focus on only gi BJJ . Gracie elite focus’s on grappling / weestling , gi and no gi BJJ as well as striking ( total self defense ) Coach Eric is great .
The classes are great ! The coaches are dedicated and make sure the kids understand the movements. My daughter enjoys coming in to her classes! Coach Mario is the absolute best, always making sure no one is left behind.

I've been training in Muay Thai and Boxing for most of my life in large and small schools across Europe and in Thailand. Adding Jiu-Jitsu in the mix has not been easy as some places were just filled with meat-heads w/ anger issues or something to prove or, instructors who couldn't care less about their students. Gracie Elite - is NOT that kind of a place. I moved here from the United Kingdom, saw this crew online and walked in the next day. No one is out to hurt/injure the other person, and there are no egos to check at the door. This is a small focused outfit, who are very serious about the training, about you learning and, just making you better. K.
I moved to the area a few months ago from Miami. i was training at a Rilion Gracie school previously. I was welcomed with open arms by all of the people at this school. Professor Eric is a knowledgeable instructor and his teaching style benefits everyone from people just beginning training to high level black belts. this school truly is for everyone as they have people of all ages and experience levels training here. I’ve been in Wellington less than a year, and was coming off a long lay off due to injury. I was nervous to come back. I requested info from the website and Head instructor Eric Monahan called me almost immediately. He assured me I could go at my own pace and not to stress about it. A few weeks later and I really feel like I’ve found my tribe. A big group of training partners to chose from and a friendly family environment. See you on the mats.

Awesome gym, my 5 year old has been going for about a month now and I recently signed up as well. Eric is a great trainer and very good with the kids, the kids have a blast learning jiu jitsu and discipline.
This is the place for everyone. What I really like about this place is the environment at which it's run. You can put in what you get out. But if you want to train in a relaxing state of mind, professor Eric can also cater to that environment. No pressure on your jiujitsu makes it fun and enjoyable atmosphere to be a part of. Great school! Also the striking coach Vic is by far one of the most knowledgeable and technical in the area.
Everything is amazing, from Jiujitsu the Muaythai and Judo. Highly recommend trying it out if you have thought about it.
Professor Eric and his team of coaches are knowledgeable, patient, and welcoming. My 7 year old son and I have been going for a few months and feel like part of a family that happens to teach martial arts. They show genuine concern for you and your families well being even outside of the school. Had my first class in what has become an overnight addiction at Gracie Elite in Wellington! As with anything, starting something new can be intimidating, but Eric really took his time to answer all my questions and make me feel super comfortable before I ever set foot in the building. Once I got there, everyone in the class as well as all of the instructors were the absolute nicest guys ever and I left with usable techniques that I ended up practicing on my wife when I got home out of sheer excitement. As a creature of habit, i generally avoid new things, but to anyone looking to switch out of their boring gym routines, or even add to them...and you’ve kicked around learning Jiu-Jitsu....Gracie Elite gets a 10/10. Can’t wait to go back, Friday!!
Basically myself and my three kids (all under ten) absolutely love this dojo. The kids classes cover complex moves with patience and kindness and incorporate as much fun as discipline allows. Parents that train well are encouraged to help with kids classes giving kids a great opportunity to connect with parents the lessons and environment. Adult classes are amazing covering several types of fighting and techniques on different days. Teaching topics change weekly to cover a wide spectrum of topics consistently and with detail. Adults can challenge themselves to really train hard or go at their own pace. I am constantly impressed with the care and dedication of all the black belts as well as the higher belts for every student. No one is put down or shamed. In sum, give it a try! You will not be disappointed.
Professor Monahan is very patient and professional. He truly cares about your growth and wants you to be successful in learning the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Whether you aspire to compete or just train for fun you will feel welcome at the door. I moved to Florida a year ago. First thing I did was look for somewhere to train. I came to this school having already trained at other schools. I was a little anxious because I was new to the area and hadn’t found a school that had a good instructor. As soon as I attended my first class I could tell I had found my new school. The instructor Professor Monahan has such a depth of knowledge that no matter the question I have about my jiu jitsu, professor always has an answer. On top of a great professor, the sparing partners I have had the honor to share the mat with have always tried to improve my game. I would recommend this school to anyone just curious as to what jiu jitsu is all about.

I came to the school looking for self defense techniques, and within a month of taking classes I was in a situation where I used some of the very simple techniques I learned and they worked really well. BJJ is the most effective martial art for self defense and it really works. If you’re putting off taking classes, don’t put it off any longer. Come down and take classes with Professor Eric. The gym is full of awesome people who are all committed to helping each other become better bjj practitioners and people. Come to classes and learn. This stuff really works!
I always base myself on reviews before visiting a place, so I did the same before trying this academy for my 5 year old twin boys, now we’ve been here for a month and we love it! My boys have never been so engaged in any sport like they have been with jiu jit su, is a very healthy family environment, we really enjoy seeing the progress and how much fun and knowledge this brings to their lives..... we were concerned about joining during a pandemic, but I think everyone is trying hard to keep it safe & clean.....
Professor Monahan is so talented and patient. The culture that he has created with the other high belts is excellent. I can’t imagine a more constructive learning environment. Professor Monahan is the man! I’ve been training here for years, and now that he’s teaching full time, I’ve upped my attendance. Can’t recommend training at Villardo Jiu-Jitsu enough. The community is positive and extremely friendly. Egos are left at the door. You’ll train with all skill levels and learn something new every time.
Before you go to another Academy , go to Villardo BJJ . There is no other Professor locally that has the knowledge and experience of Mauricio Villardo. Some academies give belts for just showing up, this Academy is not like that. You earn everything you get. And you'll be happy you did.
There are a lot of places to train in South Florida but if you want to learn jiu jitsu the way it was meant to be used and with every detail, details other instructors do not even know, than this is the place for you. You must come in and try it for yourself. Professor has it all (World Champ and self-defense) and he has taught for so long he knows how to teach each level of student and for what that student wants--from competition, to self-defense, to exercise. I should know. I pass by at least 10 jiu jitsu schools (some within walking distance of my house) to drive an hour to train here. And, I would have it no other way. There is a reason for that; Professor Villardo and his great students. My wife has trained here and so has my son. My daughters have also taken self-defense classes there. Good for the whole family.

Villardo Academy is a great place to learn solid jiu jitsu technique. This isn't some mill to crank people through to get belts or awards. No, this academy makes sure that you get the techniques down and not push you past your limits. Great support and constant feed back to help to progress your mental and physical understanding of jiu jitsu.

I have been training Jiu Jitsu for a little over four years and was recently in the Wellington area visiting family and wanted to do some training while there. After looking around at a few different gyms online I came upon Villardo jiu jitsu. All it took was reading professor Villardo's biography and his lineage to make up my mind. A 4th degree Royler Gracie black belt was exactly what I was looking for and he did not disappoint! Professor Villardo and his students were very welcoming. The gym is smaller, but they seem to have a great group of guys training there. The mat fee is priced fairly and well worth every penny. Professor Villardo was technique and detail orientated. During the first class I attended professor Villardo taught a few great collar chokes that I've been able to incorporate into my game, and we rolled at the end. It was exactly the type of class I was looking for and I went back again to train that week. I would highly recommend anyone traveling to the area, or in the area looking to train to stop in and train!

The best place to pick up Jiu-Jitsu, professional clean school in a multi million dollar shopping complex. So not only are you learning Jiu-Jitsu at a fancy location, you have the best professor and instructor teaching you moves learned directly from the Gracie art. You can attend a free introductory class with no obligation to join. Students are respectful and there is plenty of parking, I highly recommend checking out this school before even considering anything else.
I have trained at a few Brazilian JiuJitsu dojo in different parts of the country. Villardo jiujitsu is by far my favorite. Professor Villardo teaches all classes. That means you get constant one on one feedback from a 4th degree blackbelt in the art, which is extremely rare. It is top notch instruction with a strong focus on the basics. Which is SO important ! I have since moved away but look forward to visiting Florida again to drop in for some of the best training around.
