Just got back from my first class at Gracie Barra, and let me tell you, I was really anxious going in. But as soon as I walked through the doors, I was greeted by Abe, who was one of the most humble people I’ve met. Everyone there was incredibly friendly, and I truly felt a sense of camaraderie that I haven’t experienced since leaving the Army. I usually don’t leave reviews, but trust me—if I can force myself to go, you can too, and you’ll be welcomed with open arms.
Posted 4 weeks agoI dropped in for the Monday morning class this week while visiting Salt Lake for a work event. I had a great experience and appreciate the professionalism of the gym and professor instructing! The structure was well put together and the rolls were great. As a white belt woman, I was nervous about visiting a gym where I didn’t know anyone, but I felt right at home and completely comfortable. The members were very nice and respectful. Definitely would recommend joining this gym or at least checking out if you’re visiting the area!
Posted 3 weeks agoAs an Orlando Sanchez brown belt now training at Gracie Barra in Northridge, California, I must admit, this school is so very awesome! Very nice, welcoming but tough people training here! They got all levels from beginners to advance here! The Nogi classes are great too, I was lucky to do both the same day! Everyone introduced themselves to me and they were very polite and asked me where I was visiting from and welcomed me with open arms here. Everyone is welcomed to train here! If you wanna break a sweat, or looking for a challenge, this place has something for everyone. They got kids classes too
Posted 8 months agoMy first experience at Gracie Barra was great! I won't lie; I was very nervous about trying ju-jitsu. I have never participated in any martial arts and am not used to getting physically close to strangers. But my experience with Gracie Barra was very pleasant. All 3 coaches were very kind, energetic, and extremely talented in their craft. They placed me with another teammate, who made me feel very welcome. Everyone was extremely patient with me, and I knew I wanted to go back and train with them. It was a great experience, and I highly recommend this facility to anyone interested in learning ju-jitsu, self-defense, or a new hobby. Thank you, Gracie Barra!
Posted 2 months agoWe absolutely LOVE Gracie Barra Salt Lake City! Our daughter is new to BJJ. Get ready to join a wonderful community and everything it has to offer! Each week, she’s learning and gaining new skills. The instructors are amazing (Carlos, Rodrigo & Andrea)! They each provide clear direction and instruction when giving the lesson. They make it fun but with structure. The environment is so positive and inviting. For starters, if you work with Amanda at the front desk, she’s kind and explains everything thoroughly. The kids are so kind and taught to show kindness, which we love! You won’t regret joining this club. It is worth it!
