Super friendly club with excellent coaching from Professor Rik. As a female member with no previous martial arts experience, I was made to feel very welcome and at ease from day 1. There are women’s changing rooms and the gym is clean with lots of great equipment. There is a well laid out syllabus to follow and a strong emphasis on self-defence. The location is easy to find with good parking. I can’t wait for my children to be old enough so they can join the kids club. Highly recommend dropping in for a free session. 5 stars.

Great gym and community. Having tried a few different gyms I found Professor Ric’s coaching to be the best. He is extremely friendly but clearly a badass and I trust him wholeheartedly to help my wife, kids and I to learn the art of BJJ. I highly recommend dropping in for a session at Gracie Barra Cardiff.

Wanted to start back training BJJ after a long lay off and realised Gracie Barra Cardiff was not for for me to travel, which always makes it easier. I contacted Rik and he invited me down for a taster session. I was made to feel welcome instantly. I’ve been training there now for 2 months and get along great with the guys there. Rik is a good dude, friendly and welcoming. He’ll take the time to explain everything in a way that you understand clearly. If you're thinking of starting or even getting back into it just make the jump and try GB Cardiff. You won’t regret it 👍

I was looking to start bjj for a while and I found Gracie Barra Cardiff (an organisation with over 800 schools worldwide) on Google. After a brief telephone conversation with Rik he invited me for a session and I've been part of the family since. One of the best thing I ever done. Rik is a fantastic professor and a great guy and everyone in the team is nice and helpful.

Rik is an excellent teacher, goes through each move and sequence thoroughly. Really enjoyable training sessions with a great bunch of people. Would highly recommend to anyone of all ages and backgrounds that want to learn BJJ and self defence.
