  I had the opportunity to train at Gracie Barra Bakersfield while visiting the area, and it was a fantastic experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely welcomed by Prof. Ramone and the whole coaching team and staff. The level of instruction is excellent — technical, detailed and demanding, but always delivered in a positive and respectful atmosphere. What impressed me most was the combination of high-level Jiu-Jitsu with the strong sense of community that GB represents. As someone who trains regularly at another Gracie Barra academy, it was great to be able to step onto the mats far from home and immediately feel part of the same family. Great training, great people and a great academy. Highly recommended. 🥋

  I had my first jiu jitsu lesson today and I was , unbelievably nervous simply because of the school holidays nobody came .. So i couldn't hide in and amongst other people instead It was just me and professor Ramone within seconds I was put at ease. With pure patience and understanding as we went through everything was incredible i felt very privileged and grateful for the experience 1000% going back and if anyone is still on the fence about starting..... THE DO FAR OUT WEIGHS DWELL 🤙🤙

  We honestly couldn't recommend Gracie Barra highly enough. From the moment we walked through the doors, everyone has been so welcoming and friendly. The sense of community is amazing – it feels like one big family, and we've made friends for life. The coaches are fantastic with children. My 5 and 8-year-olds absolutely love their classes and have grown so much in confidence, discipline and respect, all while having lots of fun. Every child is encouraged and supported, regardless of their ability. If you're looking for somewhere that offers incredible coaching alongside a genuine community spirit, this is the place. We couldn't be happier to be part of the Gracie Barra family!

  GB Bakersfield is wonderful! Professor Ramone is a gifted instructor. He works so hard to ensure that each child progresses at their own pace. He engages them so well, it is inspirational to watch! The whole team are so warm and friendly. I am very grateful to GB Bakersfield for providing a safe and supportive environment for my son to grow and explore everything that BJJ has to offer.

  Since joining, my son has grown both in confidence and ability, and he always looks forward to his classes. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the coaches genuinely care about every student's progress. I would highly recommend Gracie Barra to any parent looking for a great martial arts club for their child.   Fantastic jujitsu school for young kids. The instructors are patient, encouraging, and really know how to keep 5-year-olds engaged while teaching discipline, confidence, and respect. The classes are well structured, safe, and fun, and my child looks forward to every session. We’ve already noticed a big improvement in listening skills, focus, and confidence. The atmosphere is welcoming for both children and parents, and the coaches genuinely care about each student’s progress. Highly recommend for any parent looking to introduce their child to martial arts in a positive environment.

  My son has been attending this karate club for a while now, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the experience. The instructors are fantastic—patient, encouraging, and very knowledgeable. They create a positive and respectful environment where the children not only learn karate techniques but also develop confidence, discipline, and respect for others. The coaches work really well with the kids. They make the classes fun while still maintaining structure and focus, which keeps the children engaged and motivated. My son looks forward to every session and has grown so much in both skill and confidence since joining.

  My children & I have been attending the academy for nearly 7 months due to being interested through friends who attend, and their recommendation - a good, family orientated and welcoming Brazilian jiu-jitsu academy for all. We had no previous martial arts experience, which hasn't been a problem as the academy has a great mix of students from all walks of life, ages & experience. The director(s), professors, coaches & fellow students are very knowledgeable, helpful, kind and the academy has become like a second home to us. My children & I now compete and not only has this art helped me in many ways in my personal journey, but it has been amazing to witness the growth & development in my children.

  This is a brilliant jiu jitsu school. Coaches are clearly very knowledgeable and so patient and kind. My little boy's face lights up when he goes to class. It's definitely the highlight of his week! Would unreservedly recommend!

  My daughter recently wanted to try Jiu Jitsu, we came to Gracie Barra and found them incredibly welcoming, and so kind when she was afraid to join in and got herself upset. The coaches did everything to support her to try and join in, I would recommend Gracie Barra to anyone!

  Fantastic jiujitsu classes for all ages. My 6yr old daughter looks forward to every class she attends. The coaches make the sessions enjoyable but also very informative and rewarding. We joined 4-6 weeks ago and made to feel so welcome and part of the team
