Best Jits on the island. Flew in from Idaho for vacation and stopped by to train. Easily the most fun GB I've ever been to. The students were very welcoming and inviting, mats were clean, the rolls were great. The class was a great time and everyone was having fun and laughing. Great vibes all around, and if anyone had a question, the professor was right there to answer in detail. You can tell the professors genuinely care about their students here. The gym was well stocked with gear as well so you will never go without. Definitely training here again next time I'm on the island. Thank you for your hospitality!
GB opened up in June, my 8yr old and 6yr old both attended. They both love their classes, professors and coaches. My girls have grown and built confidence since being here with the help and encouragement through GB. I love how parents are able to be inside to watch and help encourage all the students during their practices, parking is great since it’s located in the stadium mall area.
One of the best martial arts establishment to be involved with. My daughter has been with this gym for approximately a year and her enthusiasm and engagement has not diminished. The professors and coaches are dedicated to the students and provide extraordinary support, which encourages the students to excel. My daughter has tried different martial arts establishments (i.e., MMA self-defense class and taekwondo), but only took to Gracie Barra. My daughter felt the professors and coaches explained each movement and technique in better detail which held more value and purpose when executing a technique. I personally have grown up participating in several venues for martial arts (i.e., Jikoen Hongwanji, Aiea Hongwanji, Waiau judo club, Salt Lake judo, and University of Hawaii Aikido) and never seen the level of attention and detail the professors and coaches provide each individual in class. Traditional class base martial arts (not individual or personalized one on one sessions) typically go over the technique and have you execute it with a partner while the professor observes all participants and tries to correct individuals with errors by either addressing the class a whole or only correcting a few in a the class. Whereas this establishment provides a professor and several coaches to assist with providing support to the students (support which is very similar to a one on one or personalized session). Additionally, participants who are willing and have the desire to excel are given the request for: Clarification, additional assistance, or advice. In which I have never seen a student denied the additional support upon request. The comradery and inclusion of all walks of life with the professors, coaches, students, and parents is also rare. For example: For a tournament the professors, coaches, students, and parents coordinated help to assist with braiding hair, providing updates, and answering questions. Despite the different personalities, one simple common goal, “the betterment of the individual participating”, has driven each individual closer to provide the necessary support to reach this goal. The Gracie Barra establishment has many locations around the world to choose from and participate in. We have leveraged the Kapolei location to help develop my daughter’s techniques further. The Gracie Barra Kapolei location also provides the same level of attention, detail, and goal as the Aloha Stadium location. Guests who visit from other Gracie Barra locations around the world have always brought a refreshing twist or version of several techniques for students to utilize as their discretion. I highly recommend Gracie Barra if you are looking for an establishment that has the ability to provide several locations to participate in, coaches and professors willing to help and provide additional advice, and the platform to help you excel.
I have four kids that have been coming here for over 2 months, and those four kids couldn't be more different from each other, but one of the few things in the whole world that they can agree on, is that this place is awesome! We are there 6 days a week, for 3 different classes, and the quality of instructors is consistently great across the board. The instructors have incredible patience with these kids and offer slow, clear and repetitive instruction, and then each kid always gets plenty individual attention as well. Respect and good sportsmanship are at the heart of every class, but the kids are having such a good time, they dont even know these are lessons they are taking in. The space is large and open, and there is plenty of elevated space to watch your kids practice and cheer them on. The location is also really nice, with plenty of easy parking.
Professors Justin and Ray are great and welcoming instructors. The GB1 class is a great intro class to the fundamentals of Jiu Jitsu. The facility is clean with AC and the times of the classes works best for my family’s schedule. My son also enjoys the juniors class and looking forward to bringing my daughter into the little champions class.
We love the classes. Our son loves coming and doesn't want to miss any classes. He also enjoys interacting with kids his age and likes the teachers. We have notice that his focus is getting better and he enjoys learning new moves each week.
I've been going to this gym for 3 months and it has been an great experience, professor Justin is a great teacher and motivator. I would recommend this gym to anyone beginner or experienced
Ray is a black belt at jiu jitsu and a black belt at teaching the kids. He has very passionate and kind-hearted helpers as well and so none of the kids get left behind. It's a very family oriented place and we all want the kids to succeed, exercise, and have fun. Justin, the owner, also shows up at the end of class and encourages the kids to keep the good work. Overall, it's a fairly a new gym, but with the instructors setting tone for the rest of the students, this place is going to be a powerhouse.
Gracie Barra Aloha Stadium is an amazing studio. The instruction area is bright, welcoming and in a centralized location. The little champions 2 instructors are very knowledgeable and patient with the children. They create an environment that is fun and conducive to learning.
Anyone from beginner to advanced this place is a great place for you. I have tried other gyms but this is the first place I have felt like a part of the gym, and part of the family. Love it here and the professors are amazing with kids
Conveniently located in stadium mall. My daughter on a visit to the facility was so eager to start. She had her first class and loved it. She’s made a lot of new friends and enjoys the classes. She always looks forward to the days she has class. She also shares with just about everyone that she does Jiu-Jitsu. I’ve seen a difference in my daughter’s confidence and sportsmanship. I really like that the parents are allowed to watch, as we get to help the kids practice at home some of the basic techniques from class. Professor Justin is easy to speak with and he has such a great team of coaches that assist. The facility is clean, this is a plus for the kids and adults that attend. If you’re ever in the area, stop by and check it out.
Great School w/ Solid Professors & Coaches - I was visiting from out of state and really enjoyed training with the team. Very friendly and welcoming, especially Professor Justin - this would be my school if I lived in the area
Amazing and inviting atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone looking for a bjj gym!
I have two children who attend classes here and they both love it. Professor Justin and his team are amazing with the kids. They ensure that all the children leave with a smile on their face. I personally love seeing the kids confidence grow as they learn new moves.
my daughter and husband both started their bjj journey at GB aloha stadium! they both thoroughly enjoy going to class and hate having to miss for any reason. can’t say enough great things about the studio itself and professor justin and professor ray.
Awesome place to be if your looking to get into jiu jitsu and learn the art of it and to stay fit best place to be awesome professors and everyone is there to help one another out! Professor Justin and professor ray are awesome!
Both of my 7 year old boys started at Gracie Barra Aloha Stadium in June. My boys were very shy and very hesitant before their first class. In the last 2 months, I have seen them gain confidence and enjoyment from attending class. They look forward to every class and are excited to show family and friends the things they learn. My boys love making friends at class. The instructors are awesome!!! The instructors explain and demonstrate the different techniques to the students very well. I love that parents are able to watch practices. GB Aloha Stadium has made the environment welcoming and really makes you feel apart of the family. I will definitely be signing up my youngest son once he is old enough to join.
Both my girls love it!!! Gracie Barra Aloha stadium help my children build their confidence and discipline. Professors and coaches are respectful, encouraging, and approachable. Very friendly and family oriented atmosphere. There is plenty of room, parents are allowed to watch and encouraged to cheer on the students.
It's my son's first time in a martial arts program and in less than 2 months I seen a big difference. His confidence is building, he found something he can take pride into. The instructors are amazing and patient. It's a great beginning for any kid that has no experience to start with . Can't wait to be able to join him soon !
My 6 year old daughter started attending class here at the beginning of June and has absolutely loved it. All of the coaches and professors are absolutely amazing with these kiddos. They take their time explaining and demonstrating utilizing terms and actions the kids are able to understand all while making the experience fun for the kids. Highly recommend!!!
New child within 3 classes. I am not sure how happy a parent i am yet, because I see chaos. I paid $$$ for the entrance fees and I know there is a tournament on Sunday, but even still...a new student should be being taught step by step and monitored and not just put in with the others..I think! I paid for 2 weeks and so I will see if after the tournament (for the regular advanced students), will there be a different teaching style /separation for new students...signed a parent of a beginner whom is not happy as of right now
