Great family environment! It was the first time training BJJ for my two youngest daughters and they loved the classes and the new friends they met here. We were welcomed with open arms, and this place has become our second home over the years. CJJF Central really is an extended Ohana, very welcoming to everyone who comes through the doors. From family events, movie nights and beach days as a team. Central is a beautiful blend of individuals from all walks of lives, from military, surfers, law enforcement, competitors, students, mothers, etc, and to anyone who is trying to better themselves with the support of a family. CJJF Central offers training for children, five and older. The children’s classes are divided by age groups to better fit the children’s need for their specific ages. Central also offers some additional classes for their members (and family members) at no additional cost as their way of saying thank you. They offer a Judo class, Striking (kickboxing) class and two Yoga classes throughout the week. Adult fundamental classes are offered every day. I’ve trained in numerous locations over the years and have dealt with various environments and instructors. CJJF Central has a professional environment that I believe is perfect for the growth of my children and myself. Overall I love Central CJJF, and I highly recommend this Academy for anyone looking to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Professor Jon and his staff of coaches is one of the best environments we have ever experienced. They have dedicated staff that feels passionately about the sport but also about you personally. Our son joined at barely 5 years old and trained with them for 2 years. We moved and we were heart broken to leave. This facility fosters a learning environment for children that is fun, safe and welcoming to all. Our son built friendships there and it became more than just jiu jitsu class but a family. Their number one priority is the safety of the children but ensuring they stay engaged and learn. Our son is a product of that environment and in that 2 years grew tremendously in skill and personal confidence in himself. I highly recommend this for anyone starting out in the sport or moving to the area and continue in it.

I've recently joined CJJF and it's my first BJJ experience. I have both a judo and wrestling background so I wanted to try something different. I'm a very shy person and wanted to come out of my comfort zone so that's why I've decided to join this club. The staffing and coaches are extremely friendly and welcomed me right away! The coaches and staff are very patient and are willing to teach above and beyond! The dojo is very clean and organized. There are classes everyday which is great if you have a busy schedule. I'm very happy and excited to continue coming to practice! If you're looking to start BJJ somewhere and don't know where to go, I highly recommend CJJF!!

CJJF is absolutely amazing. My family started by putting our oldest right when he turned 4 and he has been in it for 2 years and has learned so much from this gym. We love it so much that we put our 2nd son in and he is having so much fun. The classes are great and they take the time to teach each child while being hands on. Not only are they learning Jiu Jitsu but they make friends. This gym is all about family. They have occasional movie nights and activities that the whole family can join in on.

When I asked my coach back home what to look for in a good gym when I told him I’d be in Hawaii for a month, he gave me three things: cleanliness, good coaching, and community. I can safely say the CJJF exceeded my expectations in all of these categories. In fact, I can’t wait for my visit to Hawai’i so I can train here again. What I like about CJJF is that not only are you not allowed to have shoes on the mats, but you have to take them off when you enter the building, so the whole room is clean. They spray it down every night after class as well. As for coaching, I have nothing but great things to say about the head coach, Jon. He is always so eager to help you, and gives you feedback as you see fit. Jon is also not the only one who coaches. He allows different people to coach his classes, which I think is great because it exposes the class to different methods of teaching, and different techniques. Lastly, the community at CJJF is absolutely wonderful. I am a very awkward person, but the first day I went, I was instantly welcomed. Also, Jon isn’t the only one who is willing to help, everyone is. CJJF is a family, so if you are looking for a super awesome BJJ community for yourself or even your kid, I would definitely recommend you try out CJJF.
