I love this place. Family atmosphere with world class instruction. Professor Raphael De Lima teaches every class with attention to detail and always thinks about the best interest of his students. He brings forth his personal knowledge and experience as well his world class pedigree in BJJ. How many gyms can say that a world class black belt teaches every class and treats students like equals? I know I can say that is true about this place.

Rafael's academy is a great place for everybody looking to train BJJ in Tampa. Laid-back, friendly atmosphere with great training partners. It can be uncomfortable coming from another academy, in this case I was visiting Tampa from Virginia Beach, but I was immediately welcomed and made to feel a part of the family at Goiano BJJ. Rafeal goes over specific techniques in great detail, giving people strong tools to improve their game. He is also very knowledgable about competition training, and offers appropriate tips to those who are interested in increasing their point-game. He maintains a very clean academy, with AC and high-quality mats for comfortable training and sparring. I recommend Goiano BJJ to any visitors looking to train while in Tampa, or anyone in the area who wants to try out Jiu-Jitsu for the first time.

Bjj is the best way to get fit and learn Self defense. This is a great Bjj School. Professor Rafael is dedicated and push you to get to your goal. I highly recommended Goiano' jiu Jitsu.

Great BJJ school for the whole family! Professor Rafael is a great instructor. Every time I come visit the school to train the staff and members are very welcoming and friendly. I encourage anyone who wants to learn BJJ to stop by and check it out. Professor Rafael is one of the best instructors to learn from.

Incredibly fun. It is a great combination of dicipline and inovations that profesor Rafael always bring. Profesor Rafael and coach Robert, are very dedicated and really good with kids. My son Piero, is in his 2nd month and I have seen so many changes, he is eating much better (one of my concerns), very responsible, dedicated, feels important, proud... and this as a mom brings me to the top. I have seen his progress since day one. I can see myself joining too in a close future ;-) . Also, profesor Rafael make upfates and keep in touch with all thru facebook. Been training with Fael since the beginning and do not want to train anywhere else, I feel privileged and proud of my teacher and my team. He is one of very few in the bay that is a IBJJF certified black belt, and 1 degree black belt under Marcio Cruz. He has won many important IBJJF tournaments such as Miami, and Atlanta opens. Fael is a great instructor, and he teaches the art as is intended, to submit your opponent. I would like to make this an open invitation to everyone to come and check it out, and look forward to see our team grow as a family! Osss

This guy knows his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I like that we work on one set of moves several classes in a row. This way, you really get to understand the technique and can use it when you are sparring. Its much better to learn a couple moves really well, instead of leaning a bunch of moves, but only understand the technique a little bit. Only the moves you drill over and over will work in sparring. I like that he still attends classes at his professors academy. This shows me he wants to have complete understanding of the art.

I have trained with Rafael De Lima for years and I can say that he is one of the best jiu jitsu practitioners in this area... I definitely recommend this school to anyone looking to train at a very good establishment under great instruction.

Fael is a top-notch instructor and one of only two black belts under Marcio "Pe De Pano" Cruz. He gives 100% effort as an instructor and competitor. His school is clean and professionally managed. Fael can teach the fine details that beginners need along with advanced technique for more experienced students.

There are some Brazilian Jiu-jitsu black belts that are amazing grapplers, but not good teachers and some are good teachers, yet they are not good grapplers or cannot produce credential to back up there claims. With Professor *Rafael De Lima* you have an amazing grappler, teacher and friend. Professor De Lima is a black belt under Brazilian Jiu-jitsu legend Marcio "Pe de Pano" Cruz. He is one of the few black belts in the Tampa area that is IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Federation) certified. In short, Goiano Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy has great people, a great instructor, and great atmosphere. This is a great place to train, learn and increase you Brazilian Jiu-jitsu game. Highly recommended!
