Great BJJ school for the whole family! Professor Rafael is a great instructor. Every time I come visit the school to train the staff and members are very welcoming and friendly. I encourage anyone who wants to learn BJJ to stop by and check it out. Professor Rafael is one of the best instructors to learn from.

I love this place. Family atmosphere with world class instruction. Professor Raphael De Lima teaches every class with attention to detail and always thinks about the best interest of his students. He brings forth his personal knowledge and experience as well his world class pedigree in BJJ. How many gyms can say that a world class black belt teaches every class and treats students like equals? I know I can say that is true about this place.

Brazillian JiuJitsu Professor Rafael De Lima is an awesome martial artist and teacher. His skills, knowledge and teaching abilities are of the highest level. Very well respected champion with Top-notch credentials and a good hearted family man. If you live anywhere near this academy I urge you, please, to go check it out and Join Goiano team. I can't tell you how much it is a blessing to have this man opening a school in your area. You will be happy for sure!

This guy knows his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I like that we work on one set of moves several classes in a row. This way, you really get to understand the technique and can use it when you are sparring. Its much better to learn a couple moves really well, instead of leaning a bunch of moves, but only understand the technique a little bit. Only the moves you drill over and over will work in sparring. I like that he still attends classes at his professors academy. This shows me he wants to have complete understanding of the art.

Rafael's academy is a great place for everybody looking to train BJJ in Tampa. Laid-back, friendly atmosphere with great training partners. It can be uncomfortable coming from another academy, in this case I was visiting Tampa from Virginia Beach, but I was immediately welcomed and made to feel a part of the family at Goiano BJJ. Rafeal goes over specific techniques in great detail, giving people strong tools to improve their game. He is also very knowledgable about competition training, and offers appropriate tips to those who are interested in increasing their point-game. He maintains a very clean academy, with AC and high-quality mats for comfortable training and sparring. I recommend Goiano BJJ to any visitors looking to train while in Tampa, or anyone in the area who wants to try out Jiu-Jitsu for the first time.
