The best family jiujitsu gym you will ever find. The owners are the head coaches and their ability to coach all ages is not matched anywhere. They do an amazing job keeping your child focused and motivated the entire class. The facility is huge, clean, and inviting for all ages. They also coordinate fun events for kids outside of regular class time that is fun for all ages. The children that attend here are the sweetest kids you’ll ever meet, and through them, the coaches always have an excellent student to teacher ratio, no matter the size of the class. Highly recommend making this your home gym!

Generation Jujitsu has been a fabulous experience for our family. However, more importantly it has helped in the further the development of our sons discipline and character. The Professors that teach are remarkable at breaking down techniques for persons of all ages. In short, Nigel, Corrie and John Williams love Generation Jujitsu! If you're looking for a school, let Generation be your first stop, as I promise you it will be your only! I joined and so has my wife!!! Let's goooo!!!

My daughter loves her classes with Professor Colleen and Professor Allen!! They are so engaging, organized, and teach discipline and technique. We go three times a week and we are always looking forward to it. So happy to find this gem!!

We moved our kids Generation about 3 months ago for jujitsu! It’s been an amazing experience being apart of their competition team and family! The team is exactly that a family! The professors are super encouraging and enthusiastic to be teaching all the kids and clearly love what they do!

Where do we start?! We HIGHLY recommend Generation Jiu-Jitsu. We began training here over 4 years ago. They have an excellent jiu-jitsu program for kids that teaches skills they’ll have for the rest of their lives. Our three children began competing three-ish years ago and have been successful earning medals at competitions in some pretty tough matches. They have grown to LOVE this sport. I will say, we love this place for so much more than that though. We have full confidence in the professors and coaches who train our children, teaching them self-control, humility, perseverance, and integrity. This is a very humbling sport because when rolling, someone wins and someone doesn’t. They have learned to reflect, respect their opponent, and show honor in emotional moments. These people have become a family to us and they are very family-oriented! If you are looking around for your kid(s)- check it out. If you’re looking for yourself- check it out. The adult program is fantastic. My husband has been training here for a few years as well, and won double gold at the last tournament! 🥇🥇. He doesn’t like missing practice and it’s just about the only thing he gripes about when he gets sick because he can’t go! 😂

I definitely rate this establishment 5 stars! They offer classes starting from children all the way into adults. The staff is friendly, informative, and very professional. We have been a part of this group for over a year and I have to say I have never been disappointed. Not only do they teach discipline, confidence, and technique in the classroom, they encourage team building social event invites to reach out to the whole family to be a part of. I can assure you and your children will gain life changing skills just from being a part of this group. If you have any questions or concerns they are more than happy to help! 10/10 recommend!!

We have been looking for something for my son to do after school to get his wolf pup out of his system - I thought wrestling would be a good fit but all the clubs are some distance and a huge time commitment. We then decided to check out some martial arts places. We went to a few but when we found Bushido, my husband I were immediately impressed! Angel at the front has helped with my many questions and gotten us all set up making jumping in that much smoother! We signed up in April and it switched to Generation Jiu Jitsu shortly after when the new facility was complete. The new home is huge and open with lots of seating (for us hovering parents)! Each instructor brings something to the table for these kids which is creating well rounded skills! As a person coming in knowing nothing about jiu jitsu or about the instructors - we have enjoyed learning as we go. Alan was our first impression- he commanded the kids attention in a gentle yet authoritative manner. The kids were respectful and focused. It was exactly what we were looking for! Colleen instructed one day at Bushido and we commented how we liked how quickly she connected with the kids and at the same time was clear and firm ….meanwhile we had no idea she was Alan’s daughter! Abram has also trained with Chris. Chris is like the fun uncle that teaches you all the cool stuff but has zero tolerance for disrespect (isn’t that what our kids are missing these days?!) The instructors are all very technical yet they keep in mind that they are working with kids making each class fun! They are absolutely great role models! We are excited that we happened to fall into a school that is such a high quality…Just walking in and seeing 40 kids in one class speaks for itself! I actually feel like we have been going for years yet it’s only been a few months! There are lots of classes to choose from and getting to pick what works for our families schedule has been golden! Journey Jiu jitsu is linked and we have not yet attended a class there, however, I have heard amazing things about the owner, Sage (Alan’s son!) from people in the community! This offers even more flexibility with schedules. Abram loves to roll with the higher belts even when he knows they are going to dominate… he craves the challenge! My son is ate up with this sport! He has researched and even made a slide show to gather information about it. Every time we leave his face is flushed and sweaty and he has a huge smile on his face….can I ask for anything more?! Jiu jitsu meets that primitive need to roll around and dominate an opponent…definitely wearing out that wolf pup in my son! My biggest regret is that I didn’t know about this place years ago!

I have been with Generation jiujitsu for some years now and it is a fantastic place to start your warrior journey or to further add on to what you have learned. The Instructors are all experienced and knowledgeable. The environment is family friendly. The cost is super affordable and you get a lot of class options throughout the week for all schedules. The kids program is top tier and facility is brand new. For the well versed jiujitsu practitioners Generations lineage is an excellent pedigree of champions. I would recommend this to anyone. My entire family trains there. We love it. Ps. They love Military, Veterans and First Responders.

I am so honored and blessed to call Generation “my gym”. Truth be told, it is more of a family, to me, than a gym. The community is unmatched and the environment is a safe space to grow and learn. My children and I could not be more thankful for the bonds that we share with our Generation family!!!! Whether it be on the mat at the gym, traveling together for competitions or hanging out at home altogether, we are truly a family! This gym offers the ability to exercise, learn self defense and problem solving skills on the mat AND in real life; while having fun and building amazing, long lasting relationships!! We are a competition gym but not everyone chooses to go that route and that is totally okay!!!! Whether you just want to roll around for fun or master the technique of BJJ from the most qualified local professors, you have found the place to be! We love every aspect of Generation Jiu Jitsu and look forward to growing together for many years to come!

Having trained a number of different places over the years with multiple relocations, I can confidently say that Coaches Colleen and Alan run a fantastic program. Class sizes are right where you want them-- not too big to be lost, but large enough to have a good variety of training partners. The quality of the program shows in the skill of those students who have been around for a while. Great group of guys and gals to work with. Excticed to now have my kids at an age where they can join in. Definitely the best bjj school in the area.

I cannot speak highly enough about Generation Jiu-Jitsu located in the Churchland/Western Branch area. My kids and husband have been training here, and the experience has been nothing short of phenomenal. The dedication the instructors put into both the kids' and adult programs is truly commendable. There are classes offered for all types whether you are a competitor or just wanting to get a great work out in. The women’s only class is a fun time while learning to be able to defend yourself. Yoga is also included in all memberships to help with your recovery from training. Building core strength, flexibility and breathing techniques! They are passionate, patient, and incredibly skilled, ensuring that each student receives personalized attention and guidance. It's clear that they are deeply invested in their students' progress and success. The facility itself is open and inviting, providing a comfortable environment for both training and observing. The vibe in the academy is very good with excellent training partners and a clean and beautiful new space. I would absolutely train a generation again. I have trained in combat sports for 26 years. I have trained at 11+ gyms due to military assignments. Generation JJ is simply a world class operation. Clean, best in class facility. Classes that suit the needs of the different types of athletes: competitor, hobbyist, first timer, women only, kids. One way to determine the quality of instruction is by assessing the student body—the depth of the bench in experience, the breadth of the bench in age group… stop in and you won’t be disappointed! A great place to try it out… if you have hesitated in the past this is the place to start! TDY? Drop in; a lot of military and veteran families call this place home. The professors have unequalled experience as well. My favorite part is they don’t tolerate jerks or people looking to hurt others—a very safe and welcoming environment and community.

My son and I have been training Jiu Jitsu with Alan and Colleen for 18 months, and the experience has been outstanding. He has learned so much, and his confidence has soared. The training here instills valuable life skills and teaches problem-solving under high-stress situations. The team competes and wins in local and national competitions, thanks to the excellent instruction. The atmosphere is genuinely family-friendly, making it a perfect place for both kids and adults to train together.

I’ve been training with staff at Generation Jiu-Jitsu for about 3 years and couldn’t be happier! They have several training times throughout the week to accommodate everyone, including morning, mid-day, and evening classes. The facility itself is awesome, there’s a ton of space and plenty of parking. If you’re like I was when I started (early 40s and looking for something to challenge myself and help me stay in shape) then you could NOT find a better place to help you do that!

Generation is located behind Navy federal on high street. They do a phenomenal job with all the kids and their Adult program is amazing. The staff is kind, professional, and welcoming.
