My wife & I (Ellen & Geoff Abare) are Suffield resident business owners and we have twin sons that are now 13. A little over a year ago, no one in my family knew what Brazilian JiuJitsu was! Just over a year later, BOTH boys have competed and won gold in their respective weight/experience classes. Sensei CJ is young man himself as he received his first degree karate black belt as a younger teenager. For a young man (now in his mid 20's) he is extremely knowledgeable - not only in the martial arts world but he is also a wonderful, humble & "down to earth" young man. He teaches multiple styles of martial arts that nicely diversifies his students in self defense. This is not some pay your dues, "buy" you belt type school. It's merit based and he's not afraid to fail students if they aren't putting in the proper effort. CJ has only been in business (as his own school) for just over a year, and we've watched his school grow by leaps & bounds. If you're looking for a great mentor (who your child will be in great hands with) I HIGHLY recommend Full Circle Martial Arts of CT. We've also watched his adult class grow as well, as we also have a 20 year old son who followed in his younger brothers footsteps & joined about 6 months ago. Go team FCMA!
Posted 1 year agoI met Sensei CJ when he taught at a previous school. His personable and kind demeanor, coupled with his devotion to fitness and martial arts, and a practical understanding of muscular structure, made him one of the most helpful and effective instructors I ever trained under. He continues to provide this level of instruction at his new school.
Posted 2 years agoSensei CJ is a great teacher not only technical but also discipline and passionate in the martial arts. He is dedicated to his students' training and growth.
Posted 2 years agoI’ve known about CJ for over 13 years probably… the main thing I remember was his passionate pursuit of martial arts. If I still lived in CT I would trust CJ to coach me in everything he has to offer just because he has proven to me through over a decade of commitment to master many forms of martial arts. Stellar to see him share his passion with others .
