I began my Jiu Jitsu journey at Fluid about 3 1/2 years ago. I’m not super athletic, I’m not super strong and at the time I was 74 years old. At present I can say, this was the best thing I have ever done for myself. Fluid is a nurturing, friendly environment - at my age I have made friends decades younger than I and I continue to learn and grow in my Jiu Jitsu experience.
Fluid Jiu Jitsu is hands down the best gym in Milwaukee. Professor Brent and Coach Nick are both incredibly professional and respectful. Having trained in Jiu Jitsu for a few years before moving to the area, I checked out other gyms, but none of them matched the welcoming vibe of Fluid. From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely cared for, which was a refreshing change from other places where I felt like I was just a target for intense rolling because I was new. The atmosphere at Fluid Jiu Jitsu is fantastic. Another great perk is the ample parking. You will never have to worry about finding a spot as there is plenty of parking for everyone.
I dropped in here about 2 weeks ago when I was in town for a business trip. Very welcoming environment. Plus, they have several other ladies, which is always a great find in a gym! Thank you for your hospitality!
When I travel I always try to drop in and train at a new academy whenever I can. A year ago I visited Fluid Jiu Jitsu, and had an awesome time. Master Pedro Sauer was in town! Super kind, welcoming team! Great Jiu Jitsu! I found myself in Milwaukee again yesterday, and headed straight back for a lunch open mat. Warm welcome again and got a bunch of great rolls. This place is consistently great and that is important when choosing a place to train when on the road. I highly recommend. Thanks for leading such a great team, Professor Fitzgerald! See you all again soon I hope. #PedroSauerAssociation #Keepitplayful #FluidJiuJitsuMilwaukee
I have three of my kids here for 2 years. They all agreed that 5 stars is a minimum to rate this place.
When I walked into Fluid Jitsu, I felt something special right away. It was a warm and friendly place, totally different from my old gym where I often felt ignored. At Fluid Jitsu, they welcomed me warmly and saw my potential right away. The best thing about Fluid Jitsu is how good the instructors are. They really know their stuff and they care about helping each of us get better. They're not just teaching moves—they're helping us grow. Overall, Fluid Jitsu isn't just a gym; it's like a family. They make you feel valued and supported, and that's made all the difference for me after my disappointing experience at my old gym.
I’ve experienced growth in other areas of my life since I started training…Professor Brenton has created a family…
What can I say about Fluid jiujitsu… as a former student I can say that Professor Benton and the staff over at Fluid have been nothing but awesome towards me . Class structure is solid and the jiujitsu is dope . I highly recommend going here for your jiujitsu education and experience. I still have nightmares of Coach Nick and him catching me in his spider guard lol 🤣🤣 . A 414 Legit salute 🤙🏼to the folks over at Fluid Bjj . I wish all of you nothing but success in your martial arts journeys
We joined Fluid Jiu Jitsu to help our 6 year old focus and with understanding his surroundings better. Since joining the notes from his teacher have been verry positive about his new found attention to his surroundings and paying attention in class. Myself and our 9 year old joined at the same time as well. Our 9 year old has always been a bit on the quite side and more reserved, since joining she seems to have gained a self confidence we did not know she had. She has even told her coach that she wants to compete in tournaments. My main goal in joining was to help get in shape. I can already feel a difference in my overall movement. The class and instructors have been extremely welcoming and helpful in my instruction. I highly recommend to anybody looking!!!
I’ve been to several gyms all over the Midwest and this one is definitely one of the friendliest gyms I’ve been to. Very clean facility and excellent people. Thank you!
I had the opportunity and great pleasure to attend a Pedro Sauer seminar here recently. While it is a little far away from me, if I lived closer I would not hesitate to both attend and join up! Brenton is a great owner and instructor with amazing technique and skills. Overall just an awesome gym. There are really good people there and the training atmosphere is second-to-none. Definitely check it out - *especially* if you are from the area. You WILL improve your jiu-jitsu immensely!
As I am coming up on a year attending classes and functions at Fluid Jiu-Jitsu, I just wanted to write a quick review of this gym/dojo/family meeting place. Not sure what to call it as it fits many names. I first have found everyone to be very accepting and encouraging no matter where you are on your fitness journey. Whether you are 70 or 5 I have found everyone to be very helpful and willing to instruct and share their knowledge. Our fearless leader Professor Brenton Fitzgerald has ensured that everyone is in an environment where they can ask for help and receive it. Whether you are looking for inclusion in an activity, a good work out, advancing your skills, promotion/advancement in belts, and up to competing on a more serious level. There is a great variety of classes from beginner, intermediate, advanced, flow rolling, Gracie self-defense curriculum, competition drilling and women’s only classes. It truly is a great place that I enjoy and wish I could be at more often than I am. I try to attend 6 a.m. classes as much as I can but there’s a great variety of classes and times that can really fit any schedule.
Absolutely amazing place to learn. Everybody is so nice and always there to help. Professor Brenton and Professor Jason are both great teachers as well!
This is the second bjj school I have trained at, and my absolute favorite. The people are welcoming, there are multiple classes to choose from for your schedule, a variety of qualified instructors willing to help, and a level of professionalism without the "corporate" feel. I think beginners, advanced students, and in-between can all gain a positive experience from training at Fluid!
The family atmosphere you get when stepping in is unmatched, starting at the top from Prof. Fitzgerald, every single person shows great interest in helping you grow, not only in BJJ but I life, the support is real! Couldn't recommend it enough!
Can't say enough good about this place. I've only been coming for 4-5 months at this point, but I've felt like I've belonged since day one. Everyone is super welcoming and willing to teach. You can really tell Brent and the rest of the instructors truly care about what they're teaching and take the time to do it safely. The kids class is also phenomenal for a wild 5 year old! You guys rock, and I look forward to many more years of training here :)
solid spot. safe rolls, tough competitors and quality teaching
This has been our favorite place for years. The owner is amazing, kind, helpful, and really knows what he is doing. Great place for kids and adults to learn the wonderful art of jujitsu.
Great environment, great people, top notch jiu jitsu.
Fluid Jiu Jitsu is a comfortable, highly knowledgeable and fun gym to learn and practice martial arts. From Brenton to Miguel, the staff does a wonderful job educating a wide range of students. No matter if you’re young and just starting, or older and experienced, you’re more than welcome to attend classes at Fluid. I recommend Fluid to anyone looking for a fun way to get in shape, surrounded by great people.
Been going here a few years now and I can't imagine my life without it. It has become a part of my weekly routine that helps support me mentally and physically. Place is always clean, equipment and mats are kept in excellent shape and the experience has been if changing for me and my family.
This place is no doubt the best place where I have trained. I have visited nationwide close to 20 jiujitsu schools including the big names in NYC and California and Fluid is right there on the top. Being a small school in a small city I was not sure about visiting but their social media tone encouraged me to visit. From the beginning professor Brent was very friendly and open, he talked about the school, the rolls, their approach, and most importantly (and their secret sauce) the people. It is the friendliest, more casual, supporting environment I have experienced. My jiujitsu grew exponentially and very fast I saw myself immersed in the same supporting culture, learning and sharing. Fluid has something for everyone, from beginners with zero experience to fearless avid competitors, if there is something you don't find here I am pretty sure professor would do whatever is in his power to help you and see you improve. If you are looking for a place that is also a community, fun and challenging this is it. You will not leave the same you came in.
Awesome gym. My son, my wife, and I all train Jiu Jitsu under Professor Brenton and we love being here. The instructors are great, higher rank students are willing to help out. If you’re looking to train this is the place for you and your family.
A very welcoming atmosphere for people looking to try something new. From the instructors to the other participants, everyone is working to help you get better. Glad I found this place.
I have so much fun here at fluid. The staff is knowledgeable, confident and welcoming.
Love this place.Great atmosphere. Wide variety of classes. If you have not tried it yet you should come in and check it out.
Love Fluid! As someone who is new to Jiu Jitsu, but not new to combative sports, I was hoping the place close to my house would feel like ‘home’. Brenton Fitzgerald and the members of Fluid Jiu Jitsu have made this place feel exactly like that, home! Whether you are new to the combative/martial arts, want to up your fitness game, ready to get back rolling, or just want to join a great group of folks, check out Fluid. Looking forward to our next time on the mat!
Great place train! The Instructors, people and atmosphere are all awesome. If you're an early riser, they have classes for you. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6am-7am. There are also kids classes, Muay Thai classes, a fitness kickboxing class and a conditioning class.
Amazing place to train and such a great jiu jitsu family! Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to start or continue training!
Awsome place for ppl to train
Good place to work out. Seems like the students enjoy working out at this place and learn quickly.
Great place to learn mauy thai & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Lots of great people with everyone willing to share knowledge.
I have been going to Fluid for 7+ months. I really love it here! Brenton is a wonderful instructor. He is very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. All of the students are very kind as well. I highly recommend this school if you're looking for a good jiu jitsu school to be a part of!
Incredible instruction, perfectly suited for both casual and competitive training in the martial arts. Allows for growth in sport and practical self defense. I recommend this school to anyone that even shows a passing interest in the martial arts. The group of people are extremely friendly and welcoming as well.
Great place to learn especially if you're new to the gentle art. Every member is willing to help you learn. Kids classes are great. They do a great job at working with the kids to help them grow in more than just jiu jitsu.
Both my son and I attend classes throughout the week and love it here. Fluid Jiu Jitsu feels like a family, and everyone is very open to taking time to help. Brent is an excellent teacher and can simplify intricate techniques, making both the adult and kids classes fun and interesting. If you're new to BJJ, don't hesitate to stop into a beginner class to observe. If you are looking at having your kids participate, just take them in for a free class. My 10 year old ONLY wanted to do soccer until trying jiu jitsu, and now he's having so much fun with Brent, Miguel, and the other kids that he has been attending the adult beginner classes as well.
Brent is one of the best teachers I have had the pleasure to train with. He has also attracted a very welcoming team with a lot of experience in the mat and with the patience and willingness to share that experience with people at any level. Fluid is a great family of like-minded people who love to choke each, but in a very healthy and constructive way.
Brenton is the Black belt instructor and owner/operator under the Pedro Sauer lineage. His knowledge of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu as well as being an Iron man finisher makes him one of the best martial arts instructors in all of wisconsin.
Brenton is an excellent instructor: he is highly skilled and passionate about teaching BJJ. His enthusiasm creates such positive energy at Fluid. Everyone is welcoming and friendly - always willing to help. So happy I found my way to Fluid, it has changed my life!
Brent is a great instructor. He has patience for all skill levels, and will coach you through any struggles. The rest of the group is a fantastic bunch of individuals from all different walks of life. Everyone is welcoming and helpful. Come in and join us! 😁
Brent is a solid Black Belt! I've learned a ton from him.
Great instruction, with a positive humble environment where everyone focuses on learning and personal growth.
This is a fun environment with some great BJJ instruction.
Love it here. Class structure is easy to follow and engaging. My kids and myself are all hooked. Thank you!
Great group of men and women. I never have a easy day rolling with this group. You will always be challenged in a positive way! 💪😎
Brent is remarkably passionate and well versed in the art of BJJ and has created a wonderful BJJ culture here. The people here are genuine, super down to earth, and eager to help you out in any way that they can. Whether you are a beginner or have experience, you’ll find that there is a lot to learn (take downs, self-defense, techniques, submissions, little tricks that make a big difference, etc). It is shocking how fast you will learn these materials and how much fun you’ll be having. Fluid BJJ isn’t just a gym, it’s a team and you can feel the comradery, community, and the connectedness among the members. It is very easy to be consistent when you are having a blast with good hearted people who genuinely want the best for you. The good exercise, and confidence are just a pleasant side effect of having such an incredible coach and team.
Awesome place to train. Brent is a high level Jiu Jitsu practitioner and a great instructor. Good mix of talent that welcomes new students and will challenge those with years of experience.
Brenton is someone who truly loves what he does and he shows it in his classes. I encourage anyone, even with no experience like me, to give this studio a try.
I love the friendly atmosphere in this class, which is very conducive to learning.
Just started training with Brenton at Fluid Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and I'm learning a ton of stuff. I would highly recommend checking this school out if your new to Jiu Jitsu or looking for another place to challenge your skills.
Coach Brenton is a great instructor with a passion for the art, for teaching, and for helping others improve their lives and themselves!
If I could give zero stars I would. Very unprofessional gym. Set up a class with the main instructor/owner Brenton, with a large group of kids, confirmed with him a few days before and he never showed up. The gym was closed, wouldn’t answer his phone either. It was very upsetting to all the kids and families who drove out for this class that was planned well in advance.
