This is a wonderful place to learn self defense and more no matter what your level is. The students and staff are welcoming and supportive. Besides learning skills, I've also gotten support on how to use certain stretches to relieve wrist pain build strength.
Seriously check Sage out. It’s open to adults as well as kids with complete beginner and advanced lessons. I walked in wanting to learn some self defense and ended up learning an enormous amount about mobility, combat, and all sorts of arts. Incredibly valuable classes.

Sage Arts Studio is truly a hidden gem in the Martial Arts community. I have yet to find an instructor who blends martial arts, philosophy, and good humor quite like Mr. Sell. He has high expectations for his students, but it is worth it if you are willing to put the effort it.
I reached out to Anthony Sell because he came highly recommended by a couple people I respect in the martial art community. At the time I was looking for a fun alternative to brazilian jiu jitsu and discovered the bo staff. After a few sessions it became clear that not only was I going to learn how to use a new implement, but I was going to have an entirely new respect for the wide range of martial arts that Tony knows. His instruction, attention to detail and history, and coaching style really works with how I learn and retain knowledge. I can't recommend Sage Arts enough.
Some of the very best teaching I've ever experienced throughout my martial arts journey. A professional environment but with a personal, down to earth atmosphere. The instruction is absolutely top notch. I'm telling you right now (and speaking from experience) grab a notebook and have a hearty breakfast before you go because you'll need both to make the most of the knowledge and insight you will receive! Great school! There is a wealth of knowledge for people willing to put in the work and learn. Tony is a very knowledgeable and skilled martial artist and instructor. He is able to teach a wide range of systems and keeps the classes informative and fun. Sage is great for both beginners and advanced practitioners.
The owner and instructor Anthony Sell is extremely skilled and knowledgeable about many martial arts, yoga, and a wide variety of ancillary fields. It isn't for the faint of heart but any who learn from him will be better for it.
The instructor is highly skilled and knowledgeable in martial arts but demonstrates a significant lack of professionalism. During the 2024 election period, he frequently made inappropriate and offensive remarks about the president-elect during training sessions. For example, he stated that “the best thing Trump could do in office would be to die” and expressed hope that “Iran would get him,” all in front of students. When approached about these comments, the instructor responded unprofessionally, creating a scene in front of the class and offering only a dismissive apology, stating he was “sorry for offending you,” rather than taking accountability for his behavior. Additionally, he charged me $260 for two months of classes I did not attend due to his unprofessional and immature conduct. I strongly advise against signing up at this gym if you are looking for an instructor who embodies humility, professionalism, and maturity.
