Highly recommend! I’ve wanted to start Jiu-Jitsu forever but I was always so intimidated. The thought of going to a new gym, not knowing anything and not knowing anyone, felt so scary.
I finally made it a goal and took the leap in February this year and I started with the ladies classes, which made me feel so welcome and comfortable while learning something completely new. From there, I grew enough confidence to do my first grappling competition.
I’ve now started ladies’ boxing and MMA striking and the best thing is that every time I start something new, everyone is so kind, welcoming and helpful.
I honestly think this is one of the best gyms, with the best coaches and people.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Zac started at Empire Martial Arts when he was just 4 years old, and almost 12 years later, we honestly couldn’t imagine him growing up anywhere else.
We originally enrolled him in Jiu Jitsu and Boxing to help build his focus, discipline, confidence and resilience. Over the years, he competed in BJJ, made lifelong friends and developed so many skills.
When Zac was 10, he suffered an ACL injury at school, and the support he received from everyone at Empire throughout his recovery was incredible. After his injury, he developed a real passion for Boxing, which has been his main focus for almost five years now. Empire has supported and encouraged him every step of the way.
Our younger son, Liam, has also trained at Empire, taking part in Jiu Jitsu. It has been wonderful seeing both boys enjoy the gym and benefit from the supportive environment.
More recently, Zac had the amazing opportunity to travel to the AIS for a National Indigenous Boxing Development Camp. It was a great experience for him and has allowed him to continue developing his skills and knowledge, while also bringing what he has learnt back to his training at Empire.
Ricky, the owner of Empire, has been such an amazing mentor to Zac, and we are forever grateful for everything he has done for him. His guidance, encouragement and support have made such a positive difference in Zac’s journey.
Empire has something for everyone, whether it’s Boxing, Jiu Jitsu, MMA or simply training for fitness, confidence and discipline.
But more than anything, it’s the people who make Empire so special. It has always felt like a family. Zac has grown up surrounded by supportive coaches, positive role models and great friends, and the support we have received as a family has meant so much to us.
Watching Zac grow from the little four-year-old who first walked through the doors to the almost 16-year-old boxer he is today makes us so grateful we chose Empire all those years ago.
We feel incredibly lucky to have found such an amazing place for our boys to grow up. We couldn’t recommend Empire Martial Arts highly enough. ❤️🥊
My boys absolutely love empire my little man starting at only 4 years old the couch’s are so amazing they have showed them amazing techniques for self defence and given them so much confidence in them selves highly recommended
Great gym for both kids and adults. Coaches and staff are all very friendly and has a big family feel.
My 10 year old son likes all the BJJ, striking and MMA classes. Especially the Kids MMA class as most gyms around this area don't do mix martial art classes for kids.
Our daughter Grace has been training at Empire Mixed Martial Arts since she was in Prep and she is now in Grade 8. She originally started because she needed some extra confidence after experiencing some bullying at school. As parents, we wanted her to build her self-esteem, feel more confident in herself, and know that she had the skills to look after herself if she ever needed to.
Nearly nine years later, the change has been fantastic. Grace has developed into a confident, fit and very capable Jiu-Jitsu athlete. She now regularly competes and has medalled in a number of competitions in her age and weight divisions.
What we have valued most, though, is what she has gained beyond competition results. Jiu-Jitsu has helped develop her confidence, resilience, fitness, discipline and belief in her own abilities.
Ricky and the whole team at Empire have been fantastic with Grace throughout her journey. We would strongly recommend Empire Mixed Martial Arts, particularly for parents looking for something that can help their child develop confidence and self-esteem while also improving fitness, coordination and practical skills.
Thanks Ricky and the team for everything you have done for Grace over the past nine years. It has been wonderful watching her grow up as part of Empire.
My first time trying boxing with no prior experience, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to start! I began with the women’s class and quickly moved into morning sessions — both have been amazing. Jake and Gemma are fantastic coaches, and the whole team is so supportive and professional. Ricky has created such a positive, welcoming environment at Empire.
Highly recommend!
