I guest the best way to describe Ellis work is: someone that took a full commitment to help me to develop skills, he study my game in his own time to find out missing details, create solid and efficient adjustments, incorporate the right techniques for me, while teaching me a system to work on. He got to know me in all aspects of the sport and competition, create solid honest confidence base on work and results. If it’s wasn’t for him, with my 50 years of age, I wouldn’t never have the trust in myself to compete in the adults category. Ellis takes very seriously his position as coach, to the he point than more than a few times we end up working extra hours, if not days in order for me to achieve the necessary skill. And for that I will always be grateful of his time. He has set the bar very high.

Having attended both Ellis group and 1-2-1 classes I can say Ellis is a fantastic coach. In his 1-2-1 classes he will give a great mix of practical advice and live training so you can actually practice and get feedback there and then. He’s knowledgeable across a broad spectrum of grappling and his classes are well worth the cost. I highly recommend Ellis as a coach.

Ellis is one of the best coaches I’ve ever trained with. He pays close attention to his students, tailoring his advice and instructions accordingly which has really helped me progress in my training. He explained techniques clearly and I always find his classes very dynamic, extremely educational, and fun!

Ellis is one of the best Jiujitsu coaches ever. We’ve doing privates on a regularly basis, especially as work often keeps me from the normal classes. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and translates it into fun and memorable sessions. He’s clear and concise and without him I’d have been at risk of parting ways with the competition element of the sport. The amount that we get done in an hour is worth its weight in gold and I always find I’m able to retain and use what he teaches. Ellis is an absolute legend!

I’ve been training with Ellis for about six months now, and the progress has been incredible. He has a real gift for breaking techniques down clearly and adapting his teaching to each student’s level. Every session feels purposeful — technical, challenging, and motivating at the same time. What I appreciate most is his patience and attention to detail — he doesn’t just show moves, he explains the “why” behind them. My confidence and understanding of BJJ have grown so much since training with him. Highly recommend Ellis to anyone serious about improving in jiu-jitsu. He’s not only a skilled coach but also creates a supportive and respectful atmosphere on the mats.
