I am a female purple belt visiting from Texas to crosstrain and see my friend Evelyn get promoted to black belt. EDJ has plenty of mat space and seating for parents watching their kids train, lots of natural lighting w a beautiful view, clean mats and two clean restrooms. EDJ is very family oriented and welcoming to new comers, I was very pleased to see three female black belts along w other low/high ranked women supporting each other. The head coach professor JP is also very welcoming and professional. I really enjoyed my short time at EDJ and look forward to visiting again next time I’m in Cali. OSS🤙🏼💜

EDJ Jiu Jitsu: Welcoming, Knowledgeable, and Flexible I had a rough experience at another jiu jitsu school, but EDJ completely restored my faith! Everyone from the instructors to the students were friendly and welcoming from the start. The professors and coaches made a point to introduce themselves and create a warm atmosphere. The classes are well-structured and offered at convenient times. I also love the flexibility of being able to train at other affiliated schools. Overall, EDJ is a fantastic place to train. The academy is AMAZING! My son was the first to start here when he was just 3 years old (in 2018). Shortly after my husband, nephew, brother-in-law, my daughter (when she was old enough), and even myself all joined. It was so easy to get on the mats because every coach and Professor treats you like family! You are always welcomed by name and get to know everyone very quickly. We all have learned defensive skills with our martial arts training along with life skills. I always feel safe here, and safe to leave my kids in the academy while they train. The academy is always super clean!! I always recommend this academy for anyone who has even thought about training jiu-jitsu.

I’ve been looking for a gym nearby and I came across EDJ. I was greeted by Professor Kim who was very helpful and open the first time I signed up. I’ve been training here for a year and five months and it’s been the best experience. The techniques that Professor Kim and Professor JP teach are very well detailed and understanding. They are very open when it comes to help with certain techniques that they teach. Professor JP is very knowledgeable when it comes to making Jiu Jitsu a lifestyle and turning those skills that you’ve learned by him into placing in competition matches. If you’re looking for a place to learn self defense and even break in a really good sweat while you’re at it, definitely stop by and try out a class.

Additionally, there is a sense of family amongst all students. Training is super fun and competitive. Even for people that don’t want to compete, the professor sets a great environment to ensure everyone is getting a great workout and learning experience. I found EDJ while looking for a woman’s jiu jitsu program. I found EDJ on Yelp and reached out! I was answered immediately by Professor Kim. I know the standards for martial arts academies is they do not let you just come and watch so we scheduled a day for me to come participate in the class. I did the women’s class and it was so fun! I then decided to try the coed classes. I was worried the environment would be intimidating and full of guys who just want to make you tap. But it wasn’t like that. The Professors pair with you higher belts who actually want you to learn. They teach you mat etiquette and how to be a great training partner. If you’re looking to train just to stay healthy and active or if you’re looking to become a jiu jitsu competitor, or just train jiu jitsu, I guarantee this place will take you there. Guys and women train safe together here and everyone strives to make each other better. I highly recommend setting up an appointment on Yelp or on the website and seeing for yourself what EDJ is all about. You’ll want to be part of the team! I fell in love and I think if you have a heart for martial arts you will too.

As a 46 year old Marathon runner and combat veteran, I was looking for a gym in Corona and I’m so happy I found EDJ. The staff at EDJ are super warm and inviting. To me that was important because I like working out with people not just next to them with their headphones on some treadmill. The head professor is a world class tactician who helps each student develop there own game plan. That was important to me too because I really want to learn the fundamentals of Jujitsu. Classes are physical, but also cerebral because the instructors observe and help students figure out how to get out of the challenges. It’s really fun and helps me to stay youngish, as long as I can .

If you are looking for a high quality and affordable BJJ, EDJ is the place to be. My family originally is from Southern California and EDJ has an affiliate School in Rio Rancho New Mexico. When we come to SoCal we stop by EDJ. They have classes for Children, Teens, Adults and Woman only. The Instructors are creditable, experienced, and more importantly trained for safety and consistency. It's such a family environment and I love their Anti-Bullying Message and Self Defense programs. I came to EDJ through a friend of mine and so far, everyone has been helpful and welcoming from the day I started. EDJ is an amazing dojo. My now 7 year old son loves his class. I decided to put my son in Jiu Jitsu last year to try and mellow him out. He is a very active boy. The behavior change that I saw with him in a small amount of time is truly amazing. Jiu jitsu not only teaches you self defense it teaches you self-discipline, self-esteem, self-confidence, self-control and how to be a better listener. My daughter has been training with professor JP and coach Kim for 5 years in September. She has raised to the rank of yellow belt and is part of the schools competition team. They are great with kids small and older ones, the patience they have for each student is remarkable. The lessons in martial arts, life and often provide anti-bully classes is great. Professor JP and his staff are amazing both on and off the mats. The kids program is phenomenal. They truly care about the development of each student, and work to instill respect for the community while teaching valuable life lessons. Coach Kim is second to none in how she handles the program. From life lessons, to self defense, to anti-bullying, respect, discipline, confidence, being helpful to others, even something as simple as shaking hands and making eye contact. I was so nervous in the beginning because my son was very rambunctious but he has become more and more focused as time has passed and we are very thankful he has and second family he loves!

5 stars. Amazing coaches, amazing location. It is clean++. It is a very welcoming place for all ages, and you will quickly feel like part of a family. I came down for a week long training camp and am aching to come back. It is a place great for kids (and adults) to learn a useful life skill that also teaches respect and discipline. Do yourself a favor and just try it out...you wont be disappointed...except for that you didnt try it earlier. Great job team. !

Been coming for a few months, and while I was at my weakest ptt helped me to get on my feet. I want to thank Pacific Top Team for showing me their home, accepting me and now letting me make it my home. Profesor Juan Pablo García has showed me so much in days and now months, accompanied with the Champion Kimberly Bowser. It’s amazing the care and love they show. This academy is amazing! It doesn't matter what your goals, whether you want to be a competitor, learn self defense, or just get fit you'll reach your goal and more. Professor JP is an excellent leader. The additional coaches mirror professor JP's ethics in coaching and and create a safe environment for all levels. The team feels like family the moment you walk through the door and I'm proud to be a part of this family!

Me and my friend started not to too long ago and we just completed a month and it’s been great. Professor JP is a great mentor both on and off the Matt. He always encourages everyone and teaches great technique. Pacific Top team is great to get in shape too, in this past month I feel as if my legs are a lot stronger than when I first started. I truly recommend to check this great school you won’t regret it!

Pacific Top Team is an amazing place to train. The coaching staff does and outstanding job working with the students. Team members support each other no matter what your goal is. If you are serious about training whether your goal is fitness, self defense or to compete know that you will have the support of not only the coaches but of your teammates. I have been training there about a year and a half. I trained in other academies before deciding to make PTT my home and Professor JP is one of the most involved and caring leaders that I've come across in an academy. Yes, this is his business and this is his job but he will greet everyone in that academy who enters with a big smile as one of his family. Thank you professor.

About 7 months ago I asked my 5 year old daughter Mia to choose between Dance classes or JiuJitsu, and let me tell you that that has been the best decision she could have made. It’s amazing to see how much my daughter loves it. She talks about JiuJitsu every day. At first I was hesitant because I didn’t know whether to put her in because in my head it was a “BOY SPORT”. But thanx to this program my daughter is learning respect, self discipline, self defense, umong many other things. I’m sure Mia will continue to use jiujitsu in her every day life. Thank you so much to Coach Kim for the amazing work you do with my daughter!

I have know profesor JP for years until I got to see him again in one of my trips to California. To my surprise, he has established a new BJJ academy in Corona. I went there and checked and fell in love with the class I witnessed. They have a great program by teaching kids and women as well; for instance, they have anti bullying program for kids/teenagers and self defense for women. I ended up trying one of those self defense clases and boy did I enjoy it! 👌🏼 I recommend this establishment. Professor JP and his crew are very approachable and informative to their students and you can tell they encourage others to understand BJJ and it's benefits and how you can apply this discipline in a daily basis and not to see it as a sport or an extra curriculum activity just for fun. Two thumbs up for this team!!! 👍🏼 👍🏼

Took my 4 year old for his first sample class and I walked out halfway. I was not happy with the unfriendly atmosphere. I understand the seriousness and respect for the art but they’re little kids 4 YEARS OLD. He wasn’t even greeted with “hey how are you welcome to your first class, this is what we’re going to be doing today etc..” they just expected him to follow along and kept saying “pay attention”. The instructor didn’t even introduce himself to him or anything. The same instructor was standing near the door for 10 mins doing nothing and didn’t even acknowledge us. My kid wasn’t in a Gi clearly he’s new and here for a class. Do not recommend, unless they come up with a new way to treat the new kids. Trying Gracie Barra next.

I'm a student that was diagnosed with a medical condition shortly after I signed up and when I submitted forms to cancel, they still charged me for one last month even when I was paying for 4 months, without training, before canceling. I don't have any income and they didn't offer any sympathy towards that, just wanted to charge me one last time. Also the women's only classes are not actually women's only.. Really absurd to market it as that when it is not.

Horrible service went there and was rudely greeted by the person in charge who didn't seem to care that I was new. Asked if I would be able to participate in class but was denied. Overall terrible experience would not recommend. Better options in the area.

This jiu jitsu gym is not consistent with their coaches and they focus more on games than actually teaching jiu jitsu to the kids. I would NOT recommend this jiu jitsu gym.

I would run away from the academy as fast as possible. They talk a big game but in the end they only care about getting as much money from you as possible. They pretend to teach about integrity, family and morals but when you get down to it, they are good a lip service and not much else. Peerless, Checkmat and Gracie have better programs. I know people that left PTT and gone to all three academies and are happier and receive quality training and not lip service. I'm sure Bryan Giroux likes PTT. That is where he picks up on married women. Stay away from Bryan Giroux, he is one of the reason people left the academy. He doesn't mind sleeping with married students. JP, you wanted to make Bryan a coach at your academy, shame on you.
