Some of the nicest people I’ve ever met! Everyone at Thrive Academy is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely wants to see you learn and improve. It’s such a beginner-friendly environment, and they really take their time with the classes, especially when you’re first starting out, to make sure everyone understands everything and can learn at their own pace. They’re also extremely knowledgeable and informative, and you never have to feel uncomfortable asking questions. They’re always more than happy to explain things and make sure you understand what you’re doing. I’ve been going for a few months now, and I’ve already learned so much! I genuinely look forward to every class because I always have such a great time and leave feeling like I’ve learned something new while having a ton of fun. Just an all-around amazing group of people who make learning such an enjoyable experience. I definitely plan on continuing to go, and I couldn’t recommend Thrive Academy enough, especially to anyone who’s thinking about trying it out for the first time!

This gym accepted me as an out of town trainee with open arms. I'm an out of town purple belt who loves his home gym, and my impression of Thrive Academy was that it fosters an amazing culture filled with high-level training and world-class instruction. The facilities are super clean and hygenic, and the people who train there are very kind, welcoming, and friendly. Daniel is a fanstastic coach and was enjoyable to communicate with, he shared their schedule with me and encouraged me to keep coming back. Everyone there does their part to make you feel like you're at your second home. I would highly recommend this place to all; whether you're looking to get into jiu-jitsu for the first time, or if you're an experienced practitioner looking for someplace to train, this is the spot for you. Hope to be back to train there soon!

Had a great time at their no V class and then also their gay class today. The teaching was superb and very easy to follow. Demonstrations were nice and clean and crisp. The Matt space was nice and clean. The staff was very friendly and very helpful in every sort of way would definitely come back and train here again if I’m ever in the city.

I’ve had an amazing experience training at Thrive Jiu-Jitsu in Winnipeg. The atmosphere is extremely friendly and welcoming from the moment you walk in. Everyone—from the coaches to the students—creates a positive environment where you feel comfortable learning and improving. The instruction is excellent and the training is both challenging and fun. People here genuinely support each other, which makes every class a great experience. Whether you’re brand new to Jiu-Jitsu or have experience, it’s a place where you can grow, train hard, and enjoy the process. Overall, it’s a great community with good people and an awesome vibe. I had an amazing time training here and would highly recommend Thrive Jiu-Jitsu to anyone in Winnipeg looking to start or continue their Jiu-Jitsu journey.

Bjj Dst is a amazing and clean environment. it's a very heart warming gym, the coaches are very nice they teach you with precised details about all the moves. it's a good place to meet new people and make new friends everyone is welcoming I truly recommend it to anyone that's new to bjj to give it a try and start at dst.

Thrive Academy honestly feels like a second home for me. From the first day I stepped on the mats here everyone has been so welcoming, supportive and genuinely invested in helping each other grow. The environment is positive, motivating and full of amazing people. Thank you to Professor Daniel Cobb for the knowledge, guidance, and passion he brings to every class. He truly cares about his students and it shows. Visiting from out of town - thanks for your hospitality!! I enjoyed the class and the rolls - talented, welcoming room with a couple mats and diverse skill levels. I have been training since 2018, dropping in to local clubs when I am on the road. Will be in the area for a few more weeks and intermittently in the future, look forward to training here whenever in Winnipeg and recommend you do the same 🔥🔥

Training at Don't Survive Thrive has been an absolute pleasure. The classes are broken down into easy-to-understand steps, making it perfect for learners at all levels. The staff and students have been nothing but helpful and supportive throughout my journey here. I’m really glad I chose to get back into BJJ after a bad experience at my previous gym. Since joining Don't Survive Thrive, I have learned so much and found the community incredibly encouraging. It’s a breath of fresh air to be in an academy where people leave their ego at the door, allowing learners to practice the fundamentals without the constant pressure of being tapped out unfortunately I haven’t managed to find another place like this where I currently live! A massive thank you to Daniel and the other coaches for their knowledge and wisdom in the sport, as well as their welcoming and understanding approach. I really look forward to training here whenever I’m in Winnipeg. Until next time!

I went to D.S.T Academy for a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class. I was very impressed from the moment I walked into the Academy. The staff and instructors are very kind and professional. I am from a different school and was just doing a drop in but they made me feel very welcome. The gym is beautiful the mats are so nice to train on they have foam underneath for added padding and it's very comfortable to train on. The gym and washrooms were very clean and they had clean showers. The students I rolled with were very technical and skilled, everyone was very nice to me and made me feel like part of the team. The instructor was phenomenal, the class felt like a seminar, he was very patient and very knowledgeable and made sure we were doing the technique correctly. This is a great place to learn Jiu Jitsu, have a great workout or meet new friends. I highly recommend this Academy if you are in the area 5/5
