I was in town on business not knowing if I was able to get some training. I messaged Deep Water on IG and they sent over some details about their schedule for the weekend. Made it in on open mat and had a blast. The atmosphere they created was great! Very welcoming and everyone was so inviting! Come check them out! Next time I’m in the area I will definitely check in!

I have known Scott, Cam, and the whole crew at Deepwater for a bunch of years now and they are some of the most down to earth, humble, friendly people I know, but if you want to get down and get some good hard training in, they can definitely oblige. Deepwater is an extremely welcoming, friendly place with a bright, clean, and inviting facility that is perfect for the brand new beginner or the seasoned vet looking to add a little extra to their game. I’ve been training almost 22 years and if I lived in the Harrisburg area, I would definitely be swimming with the sharks at deepwater!

I stopped in for a few classes durning the week while I was in town for work. GREAT GYM. The Instructor's and students were welcoming and kind. As a smaller women I always worry about training with unknown male partners. I felt safe training this group and had nice rolls with everyone. The facility and mats were clean and well kept. Dropped in from out of town, very welcoming and no fee. Everyone was super chill, no ego and helpful. Very clean and nice mats. Did open mat and 2 classes, the instructors were fantastic. They do lot of drilling and there were no lazy partners, they drilled the entire time. One of the nicest gyms I've come across in my travels.

Training here has been an absolute pleasure. I am not from around here, but was in the area for 3 weeks for work. I emailed them about dropping in to train while I was in town and Chris was very timely and courteous with his response about having me. Though I'm not a regular, they have all been welcoming since I walked in the door. On top of the great atmosphere, the instructors and lessons have all been top-notch; every class I went to, I was able to learn and utilize something new. Simply put, this place is the epitome of the best side of the BJJ community.

This is a genuinely great martial arts gym. The staff and management are cool people and well trained, the school is well led, and it offers a good environment for students and members at every level. I trained with Scott, Cam, and Darnell over a decade ago and drop into their school every time I'm back in Harrisburg, and I'm really impressed with what they've built and how they operate it. Staying united and focused on an endeavor for that long isn't easy. There's no ego here, just a welcoming environment and good training.

Visited this place while traveling for work, will definitely come back next time I'm in town. The instructors are fantastic, very welcoming to visitors and new students. It is a good mix of modern sport BJJ, as well as a self-defense BJJ, but more on the sport BJJ side. No warmups on one of the days i visited, so warmup on your own before class if that's your thing.

Had an amazing experience at Deep water jujitsu. During my short stay I was able to attend many of the classes that they offer throughout the week everything from high intensity competition training to beginner level fundamental basics.Coach Cam and Coach Scott are very humble and skilled and you can see how that reflects back on their students.I would recommend this academy to anyone at any level. Deep Water Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is an amazing training facility. It's a very rare mix of elite kids and adult instruction. Very few schools have programs that service both groups at a truly master level. The family atmosphere is welcoming to all and the detailed curriculum ensures everyone is always learning. I didn't know what to expect when I came into jiu jitsu, but I got very lucky when I stumbled into Deep Water BJJ! The coaches are amazing teachers and amazing people. The lessons are organized so that you can develop a great foundation even if you don't have Martial arts experience (I didn't). No matter what level you come in at the whole team supports you. It isn't just about getting good at fighting here. It's about building comraderie amongst the team. You might come in for the jiu jitsu, but it's the people that get you to stay. There's so much I could say about Deep Water Brazilian Jui-Jitsu that I could write a short novel. However I'll keep it to a few highlights. I joined Deep Water Brazilian Jui-Jitsu a year and a half ago, as a beginner in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and I felt welcomed from the start. They are accepting and patient with all skill levels. The members are more like teammates each one working together to help each improve. It's a friendly atmosphere focused on building you up. There's no room for pretentious or mucho ego's. Being a veteran, with PTSD, it's not always easy to feel comfortable in a new environment. However, Deep Water Brazilian Jui-Jitsu had me at ease with an atmosphere full of comradery reminiscent of the Marine Corps. The coaches truly care about their members and support them throughout training, competitions, and injuries. They are supportive of their members and don't give up on you even when injured and not active on the mats. They'll work with you and encourage you to participate to your capacity on or off the mats. I can't say enough about the positive impact they've had on my life. Thank you!

Deep Water BJJ has so many options for working out learning martial arts you have something for everyone. If your just looking for a great workout they will provide that with intense classes and great cardio warm ups. If you want to take a deep dive in a variety of martial arts practices (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, or Boxing) each of the instructors are passionate and informative in their craft. If you desire to fight they have a path to explore that area as well. For me I joined to get a great workout and increase my knowledge and love for various Martial arts disciplines, and this place has fulfilled those needs for a reasonable price. Great team and family atmosphere for every class will make you feel welcome at the same time push you to your limits. I started training at Deep Water a year and half ago, at 42. A friend of mine had been telling me I needed to train for 10 years and I always made excuses as to why I couldn't , mostly because I was nervous of the unknown. I also have knee issues and was hesitant for fear my knee wouldn't hold up while training. I now train 4-6 days a week with no problems. The hardest day was the day I walked through the front door to sign up. The staff is unbelievable. I instantly felt as if I'd known them for years. My first class came and I was instantly greeted by everyone in the class with a handshake and a smile. Everyone is eager to help one another with techniques and advice from the higher belts is always helpful. The coaches are always willing to stay after class and assist you with additional questions you have, as well as, taking one on one time during class to make sure you understand the techniques. Being in Law Enforcement I really like the structure Deep Water has with the curriculum. You can see the techniques we will work on and videos of those techniques preformed by the coaches on the members page. Most importantly I've been able to use Jiu Jitsu at work. A simple technique I learned in my second class provided me the ability to subdue a suspect with little to no effort and without any injuries to me, the suspect or my partner. If you are in Law Enforcement you need to train Jiu Jitsu! Deep Water Brazilian Jiu Jitsu truly is a family. If you're reading this come and try their 30 day free trial you will not be disappointed.

Deep Water Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been such a huge impact in my life since leaving the Army. When I first got out I was more or less alone, with little to no physical activity, and dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Immediately upon going in for my consultation and meeting one of the coaches who had also served, I felt right at home, Within weeks of training there I had begun to pick up on the sense of comradery that I had been missing since leaving my unit. The atmosphere of the gym is one of learning, fun, and a competitive nature focused on success. I need jiu-jitsu everyday, and when I don't my day feels incomplete. I've been a member at Deep Water for 3 years now and I am an active competitor in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. First time I stopped in here was a couple years ago. After speaking with Scott I found out they could not accommodate my work schedule at the time. I was working crazy hours and in the National Guard. I told them I would stop back if my work schedule ever changed. About two years later I stopped back in and signed up for classes. Not only did Scott remember me but he also remembered a lot of details about that 20 min original meeting we had. I was very impressed from the moment I walked in the door. I have been attending the Muay Thai class there for about a month and a half now. It has been a great experience. My initial goal was to just get in better shape. After attending an event with everyone my new goal is to compete eventually down the line. I have looked around at multiple places before this decision. From what I have found this place really stands out. I am extremely impressed with this gym and the instructors. If you have time to stop in and check it out I can guarantee you will not regret it!!

I recently joined Deep Water and I am entering my third week. As with any new venture, I had a little fear of what was in store but immediately, I was made to feel like I had belonged there and had been a part of their family for a long time. The instructors are thorough with their teachings and the more experienced students are always helpful and willing to assist you until you feel confident that you understand the movements. I had to miss one class because of being sick and I felt like I was missing out because the atmosphere itself is so positive and insightful. I would highly recommend Deep Water. The cost and time invested is not only well worth it, but I actually feel like I got a deal! Call and ask for Seth and get started today. You won't regret it!

I started training at Deep Water 3 months ago when my wife and I were looking to get in shape. I did not expect to be welcomed into the group as well as we have. I know most people expect that a martial arts gym would be filled with a bunch of tough guys that don't want to socialize with anyone, not in this group. I could not have been more wrong after walking into the gym for the first time. The group has been open and willing to take the time to explain eah step in deatail and work with us until we accomplished the technique. I reccomed that anyone looking to get in shape and learn an awesome set of skills to come check it out and train with us.

I have to say this is the place to learn Brazilian Jiu jitsu in the area. Great staff that truly cares about the students. You cant go wrong here. Doesnt matter if you have never trained or if you are an experienced grappler or martial artist. You will love it here!

I came as a blue belt and immediately knew that I had found a high quality school that could provide me with the level of training I was seeking to better my game. I've been a part of Deep Water for a few years now and I have to say that the quality of instruction and family atmosphere there is unparalleled in the central PA area. I have been a part of many sports and trained at other schools before, none of which compare to Deep Water. Many times when it comes to athletics there seems to be a trend towards favouritism where only the stars are able to shine and they garner the coaches primary attention. At Deep Water there is no such thing. You get the recognition for the work you put in and every student and teacher is there to help you along the way, no question goes unanswered and in the rare event an instructor cannot answer your question during class they will be more than willing to assist you after. Deep Water has made me more self-confident in my everyday life and is truly the first team I've been a part of that makes me feel like family and not just a student or team-mate. We have a lot of fun at Deep Water but when it comes to training (more so when preparing for competition) it is a very disciplined environment which is what you should expect from any high caliber sports team or martial arts school. Deep Water is for anyone from all walks of life whether you want to get in shape, become better at defending yourself, compete in Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, Muay Thai, MMA, or just want to make life-long friendships Deep Water is the place to be. If I move out of the Harrisburg area after college I can only hope to find a school with this level of quality anywhere else.

My 4 daughter are in various classes at Deep Water and I truly can't say enough good things about them. The training is outstanding and the coaches are absolutely fantastic. They have a motivating and supportive team environment no matter what class or classes you take with them. My girls have been with Deep Water for 2 years now and have enjoyed every class. The best thing I can recommend is if your thinking "maybe" then give them a try, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

As someone who has competed in athletics, at varying levels, throughout my whole life, I was looking for an outlet. I still play in some adult sport leagues from time to time, and even did a little boxing, but I was feeling uninterested - I needed something to inspire some passion in me and give me a desire to train and improve myself. So, one day, I got in contact with an old friend who had been posting about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu on facebook, and he suggested I should come in and try Deep Water. Sometimes walking into a gym full of combat-based athletes can be a little tense or even very intimidating, so I didn't know what to expect. But within seconds of being at the gym for the first time I felt welcomed, accepted and respected. After my first one-on-one session with Coach G, I quickly signed up and I have been hooked ever since. I don't even feel that I am "going to the gym" anymore. I'm going to Deep Water to have some fun with friends (that includes the coaches). Even more than that, I get to satisfy my desire to compete. I have found something that inspires me to train and improve myself. I'm very happy with where I am at physically and mentally thanks to my training at Deep Water. And I am always looking forward to the next time I am on the mat.

I started doing Muay Thai kickboxing on Deep Water BJJ in March of 2014, and I can say without a doubt it is the best decision I have made as an adult. The coaches and staff have become family to me which pushes me to strive harder to make them proud. Plus, my confidence around others has significantly improved, and my stress levels have decreased dramatically thanks to my training and the amazing support I receive from everyone that teaches and trains at Deep Water BJJ. I began training BJJ in 2012 and have been training 3-6 days a week ever since. BJJ has helped me to lose over 20 lbs and whipped me into the best shape of my life. Moreover, I have experienced a great deal personal growth through training BJJ and I urge anyone who is on the fence about joining to take the plunge. I have been training at Deep Water on and off for over a year now and from the moment I walked through the door I was greeted as though the coaches had known me for years. The feeling of a family at Deep Water is truly palpable from the minute you enter the academy. The quality of instruction and character of the instructors has created a warm, welcoming environment and attracted many great members with which to train. Everyone at the gym is friendly and more than willing to help you improve your jiu jitsu game. I have been at Deep Water for about 8 months! The experience has been great! Not only am I learning a terrific martial art, but i have lost close to 50 pounds now! The students and the coaches are fantastic. You will not find a better school in the central Pennsylvania area. I can honestly say, after doing years of different weight loss programs with limited success, this is one awesome way to get in shape and have a fun time doing it!

Coach Scott definitely knows his Jiujitsu and knows what he is talking about! If you live in this area, and are looking for top Jiujitsu, you need to be at this gym.

Over the years, I've trained in various schools, gyms, and dojos. Deep Water is, by far, the most welcoming place I've ever trained. It is a great (and safe) environment for kids! On top of that, it has the best jiu jitsu instruction in the Harrisburg area. I highly recommend checking it out.

They require year long contracts which they threaten to enforce legally, regardless of your reasons for being unable to continue attending (except for serious injury or moving a certain number of miles away). You can pay for classes up front or monthly but they do require you to sign a YEAR long contract. This is the only school in the area that I'm aware of that requires year long contracts to attend. The classes are significantly more expensive than any other BJJ / MMA gym in the area. Most of the classes I attended were overcrowded, leading to a generally uncomfortable learning experience. There are MMA / BJJ gyms in Harrisburg, Lancaster, and Elizabethtown that provide significantly better value and don't require year long contracts to attend.

Deep Water is the goofiest MMA gym I have ever stepped into. After Cam d*cks you around for 6 months they will finally let you in the gym. They portray the gym to be "small but humble," be prepared to deal with guys with massive egos. First time here a blue belt was smashing me in fundamentals class and the excuse was "he is training for a competition." Don't waste your time and money here.

Called to get info about setting up an appointment and was told an instructor would call me back within the hour. 3 hours go by and nothing so I called back and some other guy gets my info again and tells me the same thing. Asked me what I was looking for and told them I want to get my son in to train and possibly myself. Was told no kids right now there is a waiting list but the could get me in. It's been 4 days now and no one has returned my call. I've never heard of a waiting list to train . Needless to say the customer service sucks. I called Harrisburg bjj and judo and they got my son in right away no waiting list and he loves it. Update****** now been 3 weeks and no call or response not that it would mater but shows they don't care.

I had tried calling for weeks to set up a consultation with an instructor and when I finally got a hold of them. I showed up and the instructor wasn't there and would not show up. The owner simply said to call back and every other time I called, i was told that someone would get a hold of me. If they don't think you're important they won't give you the time of day
