Dark Matter JJ is great, Korey is an awesome instructor and the whole school is kind, accepting and honestly fun to be around. Any time I take a day off I’m dying to get back. I love how Korey teaches in blocks- ie: “the next few weeks are single x guard..” what to do from both positions. I really like how I am able to improve my confidence in the spot before we move onto the next one. As a beginner it’s “simple” to follow along. I’ve experienced other instructors and I definitely prefer how Dark Matter JJ teaches. I’ve learned so much! Our comp training and comp team experience is one of a kind. If it’s something you are looking for the process helps you feel ready and allows you to be successful! They also offer education bimonthly about keeping joints and areas of your body healthy which is unlike any other school. It’s a cool benefit !
Posted 1 year agoLook no further if you want to learn BJJ! Everyone is very welcoming and makes it a fun place to train at. Coach Korey is extremely knowledgeable, detail oriented and has a unique way of teaching and explaining techniques. He incorporates a lot of situational training and games which makes the class fun and useful for students on all levels. I have been training here for about 9 months and do not see myself going to any other gym!
Posted 1 year agoFantastic gym to train at. Showed up without any prior martial arts or BJJ experience, and the entire gym was very welcoming to newcomers. Have been going 9 months now and can't picture going anywhere else, Korey is a very high level practitioner and a great instructor, makes learning jiu jitsu a great experience. Whether you are just getting started in your journey or you are experienced and looking for a new gym, this is the place to be.
Posted 1 year agoDark Matter BJJ is awesome. Great instruction, welcoming atmosphere, and a supportive community make every session a great time. If you're looking for a gym I highly recommend you stop in for a trial class!
Posted 1 year agoGreat place to learn BJJ. The atmosphere is great with great instruction and camaraderie amongst the students. Martial arts gyms can be intimidating for people that are new to the art, but you should not have any reservations here. Great mix of students as well.
