Great place to train! Ben is a phenomenal instructor. He likes to break apart techniques and teach them in game type scenarios. It was very cool working on technique during these games/situational rounds. Clean facility, high levels of talent, great instruction and thoughtful training partners. CTA was definitely my friends favorite choice of the gyms we got to experience! And I definitely understand why! The brown belt instructor was super fun and was super open about teaching and explaining anything we had questions about. Place was clean. Everyone was actually friendly and rolled respectfully. CTA Portland is an amazing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym owned by coach Ben and coach Monica. From the moment you walk in, you feel the friendly atmosphere. I'm visiting my son in Portland and dropped in for a few training sessions in his jiu-jitsu class. Everyone was so down to earth, welcoming, and patient. I learned so much and had a blast at the same time. If you want to get fit, learn how to defend yourself, and make me friends, you have got to come check it out. And, this is cool, no drop in fee. So come check it out. You have nothing to lose.

Was in town visiting and wanted to find a place to roll. I came into CTA Portland for a drop in class. Everyone there was extremely friendly and skilled. I had some great rolls and will definitely be coming back! Thanks CTA Portland for making me feel so welcome.

My daughter has done a few kids classes around town. This is by far the best! The coaches do a great job of encouraging and keeping the kids engaged the entire time. All of the students want to push themselves and get back. Fantastic atmosphere and culture. Would highly recommend!

I’ve trained at 3 jujitsu gyms and this by far is my favorite! They have great instructors, everyone is really friendly, and I have not experienced any issues training with anyone in the room.

I dropped in here while traveling. The facility and mats are clean, instruction is solid, and most importantly, training partners are very friendly and competitive rolls. When heading back to the area I will make sure to make time to come back again.

Excellent place to train BJJ. Knowledgeable coaches, clean facility and great curriculum. Being new to the sport, they do a great job of breaking things down and spending enough time individually and in group to actually understand each step to the process. Friendly community in the gym and a wide range of skill levels which is nice to make everyone comfortable.

I get a world class training experience every time I show up to this wonderful gym! Aaron and Ben have a wealth of knowledge and will answer every question you might have, while simultaneously giving you a great workout and teaching you self reliance. My children all train here as well (I have three, 12,10, and 3) and they love it here! My youngest goes to the little Ninjas class and has an absolute blast and he sleeps so well after training! Come and check this place out, you will not be disappointed!

I started taking my 5 year old son and his friend to the kids classes. Aaron, Ben and Monica are really great with the kids. Since it's a new gym all the kids are together (instead of classes by age range) so most of the kids I would guess are 8-12 years old but they're really helpful and nice to my boys. I also started taking classes and I am really enjoying it. The teachers are very knowledgeable and patient and the other students are very friendly and always willing to help out.

I'm an out of state brown belt that recently moved to the area, and Aaron and the whole team at CTA Portland were very welcoming and made me feel right at home. If you are thinking about trying brazilian jiu jitsu and are unsure of where to train, look no further. Being a newer gym, there is no shortage of people who are also beginning their training. On top of that, the instructors are clear and patient and will take their time with you if you are unsure of a certain movement or technique. Come by and train, the hardest thing you'll ever do in jiu jitsu is walk through the front door that first time!

This is one of the best BJJ gyms in the area. If you're new to BJJ or looking for a new gym to check out, drop in and meet Aaron, Ben and Monica. They're awesome people and great teachers, you'll learn the technical aspects of jiu-jitsu in a fun environment that's also the coolest designed gym in Portland! Highly recommend if you're in the area!!

Caio's curriculum is excellent and Aaron, Ben, and Monica are awesome instructors. They do a great job of connecting the dots between techniques. I feel like I can get as much personal instruction as I want/need and always leave better at jiu-jitsu then when I arrived. My 8 year old trains there and they are very good with the kids. I highly recommend trying it out!

From the location to the staff, this is the BJJ Gym I have been waiting for to come to Portland area! The gym is just off of Hwy 217 and Hall Blvd. The cleanliness and aesthetics of the gym make it a welcoming environment. The staff are friendly and personable and have a great deal of knowledge and skill that they are eager to share with others. The other members add to the atmosphere by making it feel like a welcoming family.

CTA Portland follows the teachings of Caio Terra and everything is broken down step by step. Everything is easy to understand but always a challenge and a great work out! Everyone is super helpful and friendly, I would easily recommend to anyone looking to join Jiu Jitsu!

Ben and Aaron are cool, but Monica is the reason I tried jiu jitsu and I’m so glad I did. She has trained with me since I started and has shown so much patience when rolling and explaining technique to me. Monica has taught me to train hard, not to give up and is very motivational and encouraging. If you haven’t already, you should check this place out!

This is the nicest facility in a 10 miles radius. Not only is it clean and aesthetically pleasing, the coaching staff is highly technical and friendly. If you’re on the fence about Jiu Jitsu or deciding between different gyms, come test this place out first.
