Wade and his team are friendly, respectful and there are a ton of high level jiu jitsu practitioners at this gym. I felt very welcomed and safe and there were other women on the mat. The facility is spacious and clean.

I’ve been a part of control for over two years and will have to stop due to moving. For someone who had no coordination and athleticism I was able to develop both at my own pace. Coach Wade and the other instructors are true professionals who will teach you what they know as well as prove themselves on the mat as well. Don’t expect to learn impractical skills because you aren’t gonna waste your time here with that. The coaches, as well as the people who train here won’t bully you and show off, they will give you opportunities to learn and develop you, you will not find a better gym for any level of skill whether you are experienced or brand new, whether you are young or old. I am grateful for the opportunity I had to train here and learn from the years of hard work that the coaches have went through on the mats that translated into instruction. My time there had taught me many skills as well as instilling confidence in myself. Going to Control introduced me to a great community of people who were always helpful and welcoming. I truly believe that everyone who attends is valued and brings something to the team. You will learn how to improve every day you get on the mats here.
World class facility. I was visiting from out of town but I wish I lived closer so I could train here more frequently. Clean, expansive training floor that includes weights, Muay Thai bags, a boxing ring, and the biggest BJJ mat I’ve ever trained on.
Overall a really great experience. They can be tough to get on the phone, but it is an extremely welcoming environment. Great for learners of all ages and experiences levels.
A very supportive and inviting community for everyone! Even though it might be intimidating, they were so eager to teach and help anyone who is interested in jiujitsu. I highly encourage everyone to try at least once at this gym if you are even slightly interest! Wade also helps you find other gyms if you ever move out of the area. He really does go above and beyond! Side note: if you are a parent, functional fitness classes with April are the bomb dot com!!

Great place for family's. There schedule rocks!! Monday thru Thursday 5:30 to 6:30 I have beginners Jiu-jitsu. At the same time my 7 year old daughter is in the kids jiu-jitsu and my wife joined functional fitness. All classes are at the same time. Great group of instructors that are happy to help.
this studio is perfect for the entire family. my 4yo, 11yo and myself all participate at the same time. my 4yo is a handful and they are great with keeping him into the class and guiding him to be successful. we love going together!
The absolute best place to train! Coach Wade is an amazing teacher, and John is also amazing! There is not one instructor there that is not amazing! They are patient and everyone who goes there is helpful and like a family!

Great place to train, with a really good atmosphere. Very welcoming. The facility has everything you'd want plus. Tons of different classes and options. Multiple true black belts teaching daily, with plentiful amounts of knowledge both gi and nogi. Diverse group of people young and old, competitors, hobbyists, construction workers, doctors, police officers, etc... In Melbourne areas? Get off your bum and get over there 😂 tis the place to be!
Great place to learn and train. We felt welcomed as soon as we walked in the door and got some really good training in. The professor spent some extra time with us to work on some technique details that I was missing. I will definitely be going here again.

We have been coming here to train with Professor Rome and a great group of people for four years (August 2016). The work put in has produced very measurable results in tournaments throughout the state. I cannot say enough about the progression we have witnessed, not just for our own family but also for the friends and their families that we have made at Control.
I have three kids taking classes at Control Jiu-Jitsu, and it is amazing seeing their progress! Coach Wade is great with them, extremely encouraging, and patient. They all learn differently, and he picks up on their individual learning styles so well, that they are all progressing much faster than I had ever anticipated. At the end of each class, the kids are exhausted - and all smiles!
By far the most family oriented gym in the area. The only place in the county my son will train. The owners/staff are amazing with children. I can’t say enough good things about the gym. Many years of experience and very well at teaching any age. Highly recommend.

Also Law enforcement friendly, I highly recommend you train here you are guaranteed to learn from the absolute best and train with the best. I'm not sure my words will do justice to how amazing this gym has been, but i'm going to try. Our 7 year old started Jiu Jitsu just before his 5th birthday at a completely different company and it did not go well. We intended for it to help build his self confidence (as he is a little guy with a huge heart), and after a year of going consistently it actually made him dislike Jiu Jitsu altogether. So we took almost a year off...until on the best whim and timing ever we discovered Control Jiu Jitsu. Wade let me pick his brain and question him for a solid 20 minutes on the phone, and not once sounded frustrated, in fact he remained passionate and patient the entire time. This is probably the best way to describe Wade and Kat; patient and passionate. Our son now asks every single day, "am I going to Jiu Jitsu today?!" His confidence has taken a massive leap. We are so thankful for Control Jiu Jitsu!

We're new not just to the gym but to Jiu-Jitsu as well. Our family of four (2 kids) has been welcomed so much not just by Wade and Kat but everyone. The atmosphere is so uplifting and people really want to see you succeed. Everyone is helpful and I'm grateful for such an awesome gym family to learn and grow with. The kids classes are wonderful; my kids non stop ask when class is. Everything is super clean. Can't say enough great things about this place and the people there!

Ginormous, gorgeous, brand new facility! Plenty of space for rolling around. Great instruction with lots of attention to detail for every type of grappler. The best part is the AC! You can train for hours and feel great immediately after. Oss!

This place is a judgment free zone and accepts everybody no matter there skill set. I’ve been to many gyms across the country and can say that this one is tremendous. Wade, Kat and Chase run a spectacular operation. My entire family has been welcomed with open arms. Although we are relatively new to the area, the other gym we tried in the Melbourne/Rockledge area was but a shadow of Control JJ. We are exceptionally excited to be a part of the Control JJ family and can’t wait to learn more of the nasty techniques that enable us to tear people’s limbs off.
