Amazing experience! I was in town for business and had the opportunity to take a couple of private lessons with Professor Sutton. Best private lessons I've ever had. Very technical with techniques tailored to my skill level and body type. Did I mention fun? I had a blast working with Mr. Sutton and learning at his school. I am going to find an excuse to get to Florida again to train under him as soon as possible.
Posted 1 year agoI’ve been training at Carlson Gracie Melbourne for over 8 months now and my experience at this academy has been incredibly rewarding. At a personal level, I have gained so much confidence, strength and discipline. When it comes to the coaches, they are the best supporting system you can have by your side. They are patient, thoughtful and most importantly, they believe in you. If you train here, you will be treated like a champ, whether you’re just trying to lose some weight or getting ready for a fight. 😉
Posted 1 year agoI moved to Florida around 3 years ago and I came to this gym on my second day of being in this state. I was truly at the lowest point in my life; depressed, suicidal, going through a divorce, and just completely tired. This gym saved my life. Joining this gym was my last attempt at finding happiness again. I’ve trained BJJ for several years at many different places and it has kept me mentally/physically healthy; I hoped to find that benefit here and I did. I knew after my first class, this was going to be my spot. I have met so many people and developed many great relationships that have been life changing for me in the best way. I have grown so much as an athlete and I’m excited for the road ahead of me. I am happy to be alive and happy to be apart of Carlson Gracie Melbourne. Thank you to the Sutton family for all you do.
Posted 1 year agoI just finished my first month here and words cannot express how grateful I am for finding this place. This a business run by father and son, it's incredibly beginner friendly, and everyone, students and coaches alike, make you feel like part of a team every single day. I have taken a few classes at another BJJ school in the area and there is just no comparison. This place is fun, safe, it is an amazing community, and has a great variety of classes. I have learned so much and met so many great people.
Posted 1 year agoMy very first day was their advanced class on Fridays. Even though it was advanced, Professor David made sure everybody knew it was my first day ever and to “remember what it was like their first day.” From then on I kept attending and everyday we were treated like family as well with the best teaching methods out there. After a couple months I moved away for work and went to train at another gym in Tampa. The new gym was alright but it really made me appreciate how good we had it over in Carlson Gracie Melbourne. David Sutton and his Son, go over and above for all their members and they make sure you a) are taken care of and b) learn jiu jitsu correctly. 11/10 will always recommend.
