    As soon as I walked in the door, I was welcomed by Nam and the team as if I'd been training there all my life. My son originally started at another BJJ gym, it looked like so much fun that I had to give it a go (plus he was starting to kick my arse). Being a massive fan of MMA, it's been great to start to understand the ground game a little bit more. I knew the more formal places my son was a part of, wasn't going to be for me, I came from a rugby background where banter and camaraderie are a big part of the lifestyle. Combat Base Leeds is perfect for me, there are no clicks and everyone that walks in is extremely welcome, whether you're just passing through, want to get some rounds in with different people or are thinking of signing up. Before and after class the mats are full of members chatting or going over the latest move they've seen on Instagram, and the atmosphere is always relaxed. But when Nam and the coaches are teaching, everyone shows their respect to take in the knowledge. Nam and the team have a vast amount of experience, which shows in the medals and achievements they've won. The timetable is packed with classes, but exclusive open mats are plentiful for members wanting to get in them extra training sessions. Being new at something is intimating at first, but Combat Base Leeds is the perfect place to put on a gi and tie that white belt around your waist for the first time.

    Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. A great place to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Nam is an exceptional coach.
