I’ve never done anything like this before, but V from Busy Girl Club Gym organised a self-defence class with Mark and Rachel, the owners of Clarity Jiu Jitsu and it was such a great experience! Mark and Rachel are absolutely lovely so welcoming, knowledgeable and patient. They explain everything in such clear, real-life ways that make the techniques easy to understand and actually apply. You can tell they genuinely care about helping people feel confident and capable. Such an awesome setup they’ve created at Clarity Jiu Jitsu & I highly recommend their classes! If you’ve been sitting on the fence about joining this is your sign to join!

I started practicing BJJ earlier this year at Clarity as a total beginner and it's been the best thing I've done for myself this year. This was my first exposure to BJJ and a grappling sport, and being a physical sport I was a little intimidated not knowing what to expect. I started attending the beginner classes, and it was so NOT(!) intimidating. Mark is patient and prioritises the wellbeing of his students - he strikes the right balance between giving enough guidance and explaining things thoroughly before we get into it, while also allowing space to figure things out as you go through trial and error. The culture here is super friendly, and if you're a newbie people take time to say hi and make you feel welcome. Being a woman practicing BJJ at Clarity has been awesome - Mark really encourages communication between the ladiesss so we can coordinate going to classes where there are other women to spar with. And! The guys here are all pretty chill and not brutes!! Clarity has become my place of clarity - cheesy but true. Highly recommend to anyone, particularly other women who are keen to try BJJ in a safe and fun environment!

Great BJJ school with a friendly atmosphere. The Coach explains techniques clearly and focus on both safety and skill. Classes are well-structured with useful sparring that builds confidence. Highly recommend.

I chose to begin Jiu Jitsu at Clarity because of its strong reputation, but what really stood out to me was the calm and supportive learning environment. The smaller class sizes allow for more focused attention, which has been incredibly valuable as a beginner. Mark, the trainer, is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to build a solid foundation for each student. Every session is welcoming, friendly, and inclusive, with a real understanding of the different experience levels within the group. I always look forward to my training and am excited to continue learning here!

Mark and his gym Clarity have given me an exciting new passion (BJJ). Turning 48 this year I never thought I’d be getting back into martial arts. However with Mark’s expert tuition and enthusiasm, the journey so far has been incredible. My wife Débora and my 2 kids also train with Mark and thoroughly love his classes. The gym has an extremely welcoming and family friendly vibe about it. I can highly recommend Mark and Clarity to anyone keen to try the exciting and very addictive sport of BJJ.
