My 5 year old went there for 2 months and I love the work ethic, character and how the coaches try to educate these young kids . Great place to take your kids if they are into martial arts .
Professor Teddy has passion, good business, cleanliness and he cares about his students. One of the best places I've rolled in.
Posted 2 years agoWow, I can't recommend Coach Teddy White, Coach Paul, Coach Mousa and the rest of the team more highly. My son has been going 2+ years and the difference it's made in his confidence, self-discipline and simply the way he carries himself is profound. When I first took him to look at different schools/classes at 6-yrs old, I immediately noticed him bond to Coach Teddy - I was looking for a strong male role model to help me build up a good young man and Teddy & the whole team has been that and so much more. I now consider Teddy a member of my family and can't recommend him, his coaches and the principles his school was founded upon more. And if you're wondering, yes, your child will become a certified beast that is about as bully-proof a caring parent can ask for!
Teddy is a patient and thorough teacher, with knowledge of a variety of different styles. He works on developing the whole person, not just the physical aspects of martial arts. I recommend him without reservation.
I came to Choke Unit with a Kickboxing background but Coach Teddy White has vastly improved my timing, combinations, cardio & all around skillset in not just Muay Thai/Kickboxing but in Judo & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as well. He is hands-on, attentive & highly knowledgeable in multiple disciplines with all levels of experience... 10/10 recommend.
Teddy is the best hands down. The first day there you will know how to fight if you didn’t have a clue before.
Teddy White is an excellent trainer. His attention to detail and high tempo repetitive style will have you locked in from start to finish. Choke Unit is definitely worth the money and is a great way to burn calories while learning to end fights when others start them.
Man master Teddy is one of my favorite instructors around. He gives great technique advice but he also works with your pace. To have a only a hour per class is crazy but u learn so much. My first couple of classes we learned multiple strikes, multiple takedowns and a few submissions techniques. I’d recommend anyone give it a go. Thanks Teddy for all the knowledge you have to offer.
This is a fantastic school, I like how the instructor ties together martial arts with character development and strong morals for daily life. This had been a great thing for children, the instructors are professionals and interact well with the children of all ages as well as the adults. The instructors are very knowledgeable and have a great ability to bring out the best in children of all levels, ages and abilities. Teddy White the head instructor has earned my respect. The program is wonderful because it teaches one to work hard and have fun without immediately receiving something in return for their efforts, no participation trophies are offered here. The perseverance, love and joy of learning is reflected in the children and adults taking the classes. Teddy White has a gift, it is his mix of physical expertise and generosity of spirit that has taught many people over the years. And it is his knowledge that has helped shape many young men and women and young adults into confident young men and women in knowing that they have the abilities to defend themselves and their loved ones. I highly recommend Choke Unit Rick White
I have been looking for a gym to train at where I can get the proper techniques and cardio. Coach Teddy has been able to teach me true self-defense all while giving me the needed cardio to sculpt my body. Love it here
I’m disappointed at the coaches actions and yelling after the match towards our team’s coach. He immediately began yelling to the coach that “you need to learn to teach your kid’s to fight” and repeated this several times and said this directly IN FRONT of the kids! He even got up and approached our coach and touched him and when our coach touched him back, he accused our coach of pushing him, when he didn’t push him, I have the entire interaction recorded, and posted to my social media and also shared it to our gym’s professor. Distasteful behavior by someone who is supposed to support to mentor, support, and uplift kids. We heard from our coach that this gentleman apologized later in the day, but that still doesn’t excuse the fact that he lost his cool in front of kids. Jiu jitsu isn’t about that kind of attitude or demeanor. Do better.
