Both our kids (with wildly different personalities and attention spans) love it! Can't wait for our youngest to be old enough to join. Kids don't just learn jiu jitsu, they learn about body control, respect, friendship, discipline and so many other important things. The coaches are awesome and the environment is safe, welcoming, and family friendly. Adult classes are top notch too.
I've been to a several local Jiu Jitsu academies and this one is by far the best for both kids and adults. Both Chris and Andre are technical experts and great teachers. If you've never tried jiu jitsu, this is the place to start. Everyone is really friendly and welcoming.
We have been to several Jijitsu schools. I feel like many schools push the kids too hard and put too much pressure on them, causing the kids, not to like Jijitsu and quit. It has to be fun or the kids will quit. Charles Gracie Jijitsu of Fremont and Livermore are one of the best, and they keep it fun and teach well. Coach Chris in Fremont and coach Riury of of Livermore work very well with kids and teach very good precise technical techniques, for self defense. They keep it fun. It is also nice that you can go to any of their Charles Gracie schools
Charles Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is fabulous! The coaches help me understand the move, when I don't understand, and of course we have fun. The moves they teach are very crucial, for they help defend yourself when you need to. I highly recommend this place.
Small classes and great instructors. (Adult class student)
This is an awesome place. My daughter has been studying jiu jitsu under coach Chris for almost two years now. The coach and the assistant coaches are awesome. They are incredibly friendly with kids and at the same time instill some discipline as well. They provide personal attention to kids and they talk to kids, motivating them and keeping it playful at the same time.

Anyone in the Fremont area should try this school. The kids program especially is fantastic. Coach Chris really cares about every single student. All of the Charles Gracie academies make you feel like you are part of a huge family!
The instructors are firm and run orderly classes but do not yell at the kids and keep a positive environment for the kids and parents. My two boys love going to class. They have successfully used their skills and self confidence at school and in tournaments.
My daughter LOVES Fremont Gracie Jiu Jitsu. We started April 2018 and a couple months in, we went from twice a week lessons to 3 times a week. She dropped gymnastics and dance classes to make these jiu jitsu classes. We ADORE Coach Chris. He is amazing with all the kids. Part coach, part cheerleader, and always super patient and enthusistic. We are really happy we found Fremont Gracie Jiu Jitsu!! The class times are very convenient and there are multiple options - you are not locked into any particular days.

My kids started with coach Chris in Tracy more than 2 years ago and we were very excited when we found out that he opened his own academy. He is an amazing teacher and he truly has a gift to work with kids - and not only. My husband started jiu jitsu with him and he is in the best shape of his life. We came to Fremont couple times now to train with Chris and we love his new location. Introducing BJJ to our family was one of the best things we've done. We totally recommend it!
Coach Chris is amazing! He's great with kids and adults alike. I hope to do BJJ till I can no longer walk.
We (me and my two boys: 6 and 8) have been training here for almost two years now. During that time I’ve visited at least dozen different Jiu-Jitsu academies and I can strongly recommend Professor Chris Jones. He is a great coach, with deep understanding of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and skills to pass his knowledge to the students. On top of that he somehow manages to make kids classes fun. My boys learn: - legit and proven self-defense system (not a martial art that may look nice, but is useless in a street fight), - to work hard to achieve long term goals, - discipline, - self-confidence, - how to be humble when they win, - how to lose with dignity, - when to use and when NOT to use jiu-jitsu, - to be respectful. Plus it is a great physical activity for them. As for myself, I’m 38 and feel like 20:) I’ve lost over 50lbs, I’m in a great shape and I have great fun from training. The academy is nice, clean and welcoming. See you on the mats!:)
Great supportive environment for kids to learn self confidence and discipline.
My son has been training since he was 5 years old. He went to another school and the format was different.My son was Uncomfortable He told me.He wanted to go back to Charles Gracie he mentioned Chris. Chris is a good teacher. HE really helped.my son focus. My son's has Ads. I trust Charles and the staff with my son...good vibes.
