Centerline has been a transformative experience for my child. He has been participating at the studio for 4+ years and is now in BSP classes. This has taught him commitment and discipline. He has stuck to something when nothing else in the past could capture his attention. He is physically and mentally strong - he can do more push-ups than I can! Instructors are compassionate but firm when they need to be and help build self-resilience and self-confidence. Super grateful we enrolled when we did! Thanks Centerline!

All the instructors were so patient with my shy child, and through kindness and persistence my son eventually joined the classes, and jumps up and down with excitement to come. It’s been an absolute gift to watch him learn, challenge his abilities and become more open and confident interacting with others.

My children have been going to centerline for over three years now. They started in the little dragons classes and graduated into the kids Kung fu program when they aged up. I hope they continue to remain inspired by their martial arts training and we continue to participate at centerline for many years to come. What Collin and his team have created at Centerline truly embodies their tag line of "strength for good, balance for life". The program focuses on discipline and strength training through a mix of "traditional" style martial arts moves blended with more "real world" self defense techniques and is balanced perfectly with fun and engagement for younger minds to stay tuned in. They program is inclusive to all genders and they are great at making modifications for physical abilities. They provide transparent time lines of when kids get to "level up" which create clear and achievable goals and are always on hand for extra questions and support when needed. The extra bonus? All the additional events you can participate in when you are a part of the centerline family such as dodgeball night, pizza parties and social gatherings that allow the students to create community amongst each other. I also appreciate their social support events including trash pick up and fund raiders to support local organizations through kickathons and sparring events. Thank you Collin and Laura for what I know is a LOT of behind the scenes time and energy to allow my kids to grow in both awareness of themselves and their own bodies, and then push beyond those limits in safe and healthy ways.

Outstanding place to train whether you’re new to martial arts or are an experienced martial artist! Great instructors and everyone is friendly and welcoming! There is absolutely no egos here as everyone is committed to learning and helping each other with the process regardless of one’s skill level. The school is also very professional and well managed. Everything is very organized and accessible. Many tools are available for learning no matter if you’re in class or practicing at home. Am very happy that I found this place to help me on my martial arts journey!

Little Dragons has been an incredible addition to our weekly routine! We love it so much that we attend twice a week. The entire staff is wonderful with the kids—patient, encouraging, and truly dedicated. We can’t thank them enough for all they do. Highly recommend Little Dragons to any family looking for a fun, positive experience for their children. 10/10!

Amazing martial arts studio, particularly with kids. Both my children attend the Kids Kung Fu program -- a JKD program (Bruce Lee's Kung Fu!) with light sparring. Collin, Laura, and all the other teachers are really great and I've noticed an increase in the discipline and confidence of my children over time. They also often have fun social events as well! I really recommend this place.

Centerline Martial Arts provides an excellent place to help little kids learn self discipline and to challenge themselves. There are so many great aspects of Centerline, like the rotation of different instructors each week, their unique styles of encouraging the kids to do their best, the teaching of non-violence and respect, and of course, convenient location. The instructors take the time to get to know each of the kids, and the kids get a good amount of time with each instructor to practice their skills. They are incredibly skilled in teaching little kids!

Great place to learn martial arts. Very welcoming instructors, clean/professional environment. When I joined I was not fit but hoping to improve my physical and mental wellbeing. Centerline helped me get there without judgement on where I started. People are caring and have built a community vs gym. Highly recommend!

Terrific school with excellent instructors who are caring, communicative, and effective. The classes are small enough that the instruction is personalized. The gym is clean and comfortable. Overall a great place for physical fitness, martial arts and self-defense in Ithaca!

Our experience at Centerline has been a very positive one. We appreciate the knowledgeable coaches, the clean space, and the positive interactions with everyone. It's very common to see the owner and manager on site, and it's clear they care about the members, the space and the business.

Centerline is a very special studio. The atmosphere is so welcoming and inclusive. The instructors take mutual respect very seriously and have built a warm multigenerational space that is rare these days. They borrow from many different styles of martial arts, and there are always ways to advance your own skills. They are impressively organized with clear weekly goals and challenges, and videos and regular updates to the app so you can learn along at home too. A wonderful place to train whether you are a total newbie or an experienced martial artist. And a great place to make friends!

For young people and their caregivers curious in martial arts, look no further! Centerline Martial Arts has offered an incredible experience to our family. We came here looking to provide our seven-year-old with some structure, discipline, confidence, and a creative outlet. We have found all that, as well as a kind and committed community. Sifu Collin, Sija Izzy, Gowlin Jake, and Gowlin Laura are all excellent teachers. I can't recommend this community more highly.

I was looking for a fun and exciting work out activity I could do with my partner. We went to our first practice session and we were hooked immediately. The classes are fun and interesting, and definitely give you a work out. There is something for everyone at every level: kids, teens, and adults, beginners and experts. All of the instructors are amazing, and there is a great community of regulars to get to know.

I've been a member at Centerline Fitness for more than a year, and I love it - it's amazing exercise, with really nice people. The JKD classes are a great balance of tradition and practicality, and the instructors have a lot of knowledge, wisdom, and humor to share. I strongly recommend joining, whether you want to get in shape mentally & physically, learn to defend yourself, or just want to have a good time with interesting people.

The kickboxing and JKD classes I took at Centerline were major highlights of my time in Ithaca. I recommend them to everyone for three reasons: the people are nice, the classes are fun, and my abs are back. Colin, Laura, Izzy and all the Centerline coaches have created an environment where everyone is simultaneously pushing and enjoying themselves. Maybe you don't know how it feels to be part of an athletic community like that, or maybe you do and appreciate what that feeling, and that kind of community, is worth. Either way Centerline is a great place to (re)experience it. Stop in and try a class - I'm certainly glad I did. Also, did I mention my abs are back?

I have been a member at Centerline and enrolled in the JKD martial arts program for about a year now. It has been one of the best decisions of my adult life! Shortly after my daughter was born and coming out of the COVID lockdowns, I was motivated to try something new to get in shape and better myself. Centerline has been the perfect studio for a novice like me who never studied any form of martial art. The owner / main instructor (Sifu Collin) has designed a great curriculum that steadily progresses and is always challenging yet doable with practice. Also, the overall culture and community at Centerline is what makes the classes so enjoyable: all of the instructors have a sense of humor yet push/help you to improve on your form and conditioning. I was so thrilled with the classes there that eventually my wife signed up for the kickboxing classes which are more fitness oriented. We both really love Centerline and highly recommend it to anyone in the area.

I joined Centerline Fitness in 2021 after trying to stay in shape on my own and the local gym. Both of those methods didn't produce the results I was looking for and they didn't have the sense of community that would hold me accountable. Centerline Fitness was the answer & then some! They are extremely communicative throughout the trial period and beyond. The trainers are engaging and provide you tailored feedback. And over the course of 2 months, I feel motivated by watching and learning from the other members. Definitely recommend Centerline Fitness & Martial Arts for anyone even considering of getting in shape or for taking a dive into martial arts!

We have had the BEST experience with the Kids Kung Fu at Centerline. The program they use is so thoughtfully designed (parents know exactly what is being taught and there are videos for reminders & practice at home). And the staff are all amazing teachers and wonderful role-models for the martial arts, general health and fitness and just being an all around good person. It's a wonderful place!

My daughter (b. 2011) has attended Kids Kung Fu at Centerline Fitness & Martial Arts for a few years now (since the Lego Ninjago movie came out, to put it in perspective). The classes are a great combination of fun, fitness, and discipline. All of the instructors show genuine investment in my daughter's continued progress. The Kids' program is amazingly personalized to each kid, with free(!) 15-minute private instruction sessions and e-mailed feedback regarding tips for improvement. The staff members are friendly and communication is prompt and courteous. They clearly care about maintaining good relationships within the Centerline community. Moreover, they have adapted with grace, patience, and determination to the constantly changing New York State Department of Health COVID guidelines, both with a myriad of Zoom classes and the expansion of their YouTube library with instructional videos at no extra cost to members. In sum, I am grateful that Centerline Fitness & Martial Arts has been able to maintain during the pandemic, and hope to have our family continue to work with them in the future.

I've been training at Centerline for several years. I started with kick-boxing and got swept up by the enthusiasm for the martial arts. From the beginning I felt right at home in the studio thanks to the welcoming and supportive atmosphere and the wonderful community. The instructors are excellent and offer training and opportunity to grow for all levels of students. In my time at Centerline I experienced many benefits for my body and my mind. Especially during the pandemic, working out and practicing martial arts with Centerline is keeping me sane and strong!

I stumbled upon Centerline when my kids expressed an interest in Kung Fu. Little did I know, that I was walking into an amazing community dedicated to fitness and fun. The instructors are super welcoming; and challenging yet supportive and encouraging. Just as my fitness journey was really taking off, the pandemic hit. Centerline has done such an incredible job making sure its members have access to classes - whether in person or online. The online class have been essential to my overall wellbeing throughout and I have been able to try out different classes that my previous schedule did not allow for because they are offered online: Boot Camp and Skipped to Ripped have totally taken my fitness to a new level - my strength has measurably improved and I can do things I didn't think I'd ever be able to do - like jump rope! It didn't come naturally and took time to develop, but I got there and now I on to the next challenge. Kung Fu Core has helped me with my flexibility, awareness and ability to isolate different muscle groups. All in all, the workouts are fun, the people are fun and that's what keeps me coming back for more.

I've been with centerline for about a year now, and I can't imagine a more welcoming and nurturing environment for personal growth and fitness. The instructors are exceedingly competent, thoughtful and accommodating. Between them and my equally inspirational fellow members, it promotes such a strong sense of community that I continue to find myself inspired to keep working harder even through challenging times. Thank you Centerline!

Hands down, joining Centerline was the best decision I've ever made. It's a warm, welcoming community that remains a platform for constant growth. Every instructor has something knowledgeable and different to bring to the table, and they each do so with a kind yet driving spirit, pushing everyone to be a better version of themselves. Not only have I been rewarded physically, my mental health is the best it's ever been in my life. Whether you have vast experience in fitness/martial arts or none at all, Centerline has a place for you!

My daughter has been in the Little Dragons class for over a year now. This class is not only a blast, but it has taught her that hard work and practice pay off - these kids really need to prove themselves before moving up to the next level. In addition, she has learned to cheer on her classmates, even if a friend advances before she does. Kudos to Centerline for teaching basic life skills to these kids.

Before motherhood, I was very self disciplined in my workouts but I struggled to get back into a fitness routine post-baby. When the "baby" was 5 and my fitness was still lacking, I decided group fitness classes would help. I began with outdoor beginner boot camp and then started doing kickboxing which I had never done before. My core strength was nonexistent but the instructors were patient and helped me modify exercises to my level. Two years later, my strength is much improved and I've got a routine that I can juggle with work and family. Thanks Centerline!

I have been Kickboxing at Centerline Fitness for over a year now, and I have seen my fitness level improve dramatically. The program focused on cardio and technique. I always leave having more energy, good sweat, and feel empowered. The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable, and have an energy that pushes you to succeed. It has been a great way to get in shape and relieve stress. Its class of the month has a variety of achievement sets where you can track your progress. Throughout the 45-minute to an hour classes, we are constantly in motion. . Unlike any other gym, Centerline is a community. A community where the spirit of personal attainment is the crucible of fitness.

I started working out at Centerline a few months ago, feeling like I was in fairly good shape, and quickly had my ass handed to me on a plate. Turns out that my workouts were limited to specific muscle groups. At Centerline I get to have a good whole body workout that moves my body in great new ways.

After being out of the martial arts world for a long time, I found Jeet Kune Do at Centerline and couldn't be happier. Plus, I'm in better shape than I've been in over 15 years! Classes are designed to ensure a challenging workout regardless of your fitness level or experience with martial arts. Sifu Collin Lieberman has created a supportive, fun, challenging atmosphere. Centerline is, by far, one of the best martial arts schools I've been a part of-- my only regret is that I didn't find it sooner.

Collin is the ideal instructor. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and systematic in his teaching. The classes cover a mix of several systems, and focus on fitness and applicability in self defense. Students represent a wide range of ages, physical capabilities, and skill levels; Collin structures classes so that everyone has something new to work on, while using partner drills so that students can also learn from one another. His teaching style itself is exactly what I look for in a martial arts instructor: friendliness, transparency, and an absolute focus on safety. I suffer from a physical disability (degenerative nerve condition leaving legs and feet somewhat impaired), and I have been incredibly impressed with how Collin has handled it. He has a) been understanding of my limitations, b) still encouraged me to push myself within my own limitations, and c) provided alternative techniques as well as exercises to help me combat my disability. Plus, obviously, he has the best possible name.
