I’ve been coming to Capitol Hill Aikikai for almost seven years and I cannot say enough good things about Mike and Meipo’s style of teaching and philosophy, as well as the amazing community at the dojo. Aikido has not only given me the confidence to defend myself as a woman, but also is a highlight in my week. I regularly leave class in a better mood than when I arrived. Mike and Meipo started the dojo for the community. We go out for dinner once a week and have several other events throughout the year. I’ve meet many incredible people and friends through aikido. And it’s the most diverse group of folks I’ve ever been apart of - which makes for really good conversations! If you’re looking for self-defense, a good exercise, or just a community within DC, I highly recommend Capitol Hill Aikikai

The instructors are very pedagogical and make it accessible for beginners, as well as giving a high-level teaching. The people practicing at this Dojo form a community, with a very good atmosphere during practice and outside. I highly recommend it, for all levels !
