CCWC Travel Team was a remarkable experience for our son. We wish we had discovered this club and team earlier in his wrestling career. Prior to joining CCWC, it was challenging for us to determine which off-season tournaments and camps were appropriate for our son’s skill level, finding coaching, logistics, etc. CCWC took all of the planning out of it! Coach Longo had researched and organized events, travel, lodging, etc. Our son was exposed to a variety of opponents from SC to PA and his confidence grew with every event. In addition to competitive wrestling, CCWC scheduled time for team building during road trips. The wrestlers enjoyed football in the sand at VA Beach, exploring downtown Gatlinburg, and playing arcade games after post weigh-in team dinners. Our son developed as a wrestler and also created lasting memories during every event. The parents of CCWC wrestlers were also very supportive and helpful at tournaments. The CCWC coaching staff have been instrumental in the physical and mental development of our son as an athlete. They immediately identified fundamental techniques that were missing or needed correction. The coaches also took time to understand and build trust with our son (and us.) We greatly appreciate the lessons from Coach Longo about sportsmanship, patience with skill progression, and mental strength. We were also thrilled to witness that every CCWC athlete receives attention in the practice room. The overall development our son received from Cap City Wrestling Club and their Travel Team prepared our son both physically and mentally to continue his wrestling journey at a D-1 College. The best endorsement we can offer is that our younger son was first to register for the upcoming CCWC Team tryouts!

Drew is a highly talented and passionate owner. Happy to send our kids here to learn from him and the other cadre of D1 wrestlers!

The Capital City wrestling club has been critical to my son’s development as a wrestler. The spring travel team gave my son the opportunity to wrestle athletes from throughout the country and be around wrestlers who are dedicated and focused on getting better at the sport year round. Participating in national level tournaments has led my son to improve at a higher level than athletes who only compete in state and prepared him well for his goal of wrestling in college. The coaches are all amazing and the travel is well organized with high quality accommodations. These guys truly care about your kids! The kids are all quality human beings with quality parents. At the end of the travel season my son was truly a different wrestler and focused on improving at a different level after swimming in a much bigger pond of talent from states like Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, South Carolina, and others. Drew the Head Coach is hyper focused on developing these kids through high quality experiences. Not for the faint of heart, your kid has to be 100% committed to the sport. But if they are the travel team is a can’t miss opportunity.

I have 15 years of wrestling experience personally, including collegiate wrestling. I have many years of coaching young wrestlers and I am a parent of a wrestler. As my son got older I wanted to step away from the coaching aspect and let him find his own path. Having coached several sports and watched my kids being coached, I am very involved and concerned with who coaches my children. Capital City Wrestling Club has the best group of coaches that I have seen. They care about the kids in the program and want to grow the program into an elite force in the wrestling community. They have made a huge difference in Mikey’s (my son) ability to compete and his self confidence. They know what it takes to compete and win. They put the work in with the kids. With their travel team, they find the tough competitions that will help the kids improve. Capital City Wrestling Club will help your child be a better wrestler, better teammate and most importantly a better person.

Capital City Wrestling Club & the CCWC High School Travel Team have been the two best investments made in our son's wrestling career! The off-season travel team and the exceptional D1-caliber coaching from owner/head coach Drew Longo and his phenomenal staff of former collegiate wrestlers raised our sophomore from an average freshman high school wrestler to a fierce, skilled, and technical competitor able to hang with the best in the state. Beyond his accomplishments on the mat, seeing our son grow as a person and an athlete, falling more in love with his chosen sport, applying the lessons found on the wrestling mat to the rest of his life, and developing lasting friendships with like-minded, dedicated athletes have been the greatest benefits of joining the CCWC family. The coaching staff at CCWC are exactly the type of mentors we want for our son, not only for their wrestling knowledge and skill, but also due to the way they lead and coach with the highest level of integrity and commitment to their wrestlers. Capital City Wrestling Club is our son's second home and we couldn't be more proud to be part of this amazing team.

I couldn’t be more thrilled that my son made the Capital City Wrestling Club travel team! This program has been an incredible experience for him. Coach Longo is truly dedicated to helping each athlete grow, not just as a wrestler but also as a person. The level of training and competition my son has been exposed to is unmatched, and it’s clear that being part of this team is elevating his skills and confidence. What stands out most is the positive and supportive environment the club provides. The coaches and teammates genuinely care about each other, creating a sense of camaraderie and motivation that pushes everyone to be their best. I am so grateful for the opportunities this travel team has opened up for my son(and now his younger brother) and we’re excited to see how much they both continue to grow with Capital City Wrestling Club!"
