  Best school out here! The members are super kind and friendly, there are multiple instructors offering different teaching styles, as well as offering any assistance you may need. There are private lessons suitable for nearly everyone, and it’s a great opportunity for anyone and any age. I would most certainly recommend this academy.

  I’m not exaggerating if I say that Cactus Jiu Jitsu has changed the trajectory of our kids lives. Not only have our daughters learned a new self defense skill, but they are more confident in themselves and more connected to their bodies since starting Jiu Jitsu. Coach Ed and the entire Cactus Jiu Jitsu team made us feel welcomed and a part of the family from day one. Everyone was so patient and compassionate when our daughter was feeling anxious getting started and they continue to encourage and motive the kids to be better, mentally and physically. If you are looking for that jiu jitsu gym with a friendly family feel, for your kids or yourself, then you will love it here.

  I’ve visited Cactus JJ twice. I’m a member of another gym under the Pedro Sauer association. Highly recommend. Ed and Val are excellent instructors and leaders. They and all the students were very welcoming and friendly. Anytime I’m in town, I’ll look to drop in again.

  Cactus Jiu-jitsu is a great place to train with small class sizes, awesome coaches, and great people. If you have been considering jiu-jitsu, this is a great place to start. It does not matter if you are 30 or 60. You will receive great training, great rolling, be able to put in the hard work needed, and be able to wake up and go to work the next day. The perfect balance for this 41 year old dad trying to balance a family, a business, and my personal interests.

  I tried the 7 day free trial and loved it for Tactical Pink Class!! They are very welcoming and help you get down the moves. I would highly recommend giving them a try if you are interested in learning self defense.

  Ed focuses on self protection which is the power of bjj. Ed is a Pedro Sauer trained black belt so the level of detail is beautiful. I'm a 45 year old blue belt and I appreciate the technical focus, the focus on safety and the great training partners at Cactus BJJ. I'm glad to be at this school.

  Betty and Ed are amazing! They have embraced my 2 boys and our challenges no hesitations at all. My older son even had a one on one with Ed and their daughter and he was able to learn some new techniques and to be able to feel more comfortable and confident in class! Highly recommend Cactus Jui Jitsu!

  I had an opportunity to train at Cactus BJJ with Coach Ed while traveling for work. I was very impressed by both the cleanliness and decoration of the gym, and the quality of the instruction. The class was very interesting and educational, and above all, FUN! I highly recommend Cactus BJJ to anyone in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area!

  I've been training here since they opened. One of the many things I love about training at Cactus JJ is the focus on safety especially for students new to Gracie Jiu Jitsu. I've trained at several academies over the years and know there's nothing worse than training with careless or aggressive students; you won't find that here. I love the Pedro Sauer Affiliations attention to the finer details of the arts technique, you'll notice a major improvement in your self defense confidence.
